Havent seen that since I was a kid and I know this is sacrilege, but it looks shocking now.
Add some jazz and the first 30 secs is an intro the most homo erotic movie ever made

I always thought this brief scene was really realistic (as much as a film fight scene can be), intense, physical, messy, violent and over quickly

I like the part where noomi rapace playing a bodyguard fighting against a male goon.

Hardly flashy but i think that's how real fight would go between a small female and a burly guy. Very realistic. Simple block and punches with lots of bruises

From 1:20 in, it got built up to be your typical boss fight (with the dude in black, not the older dude), and then it was better than expected.

Not on this fannying about, straight to the point and the guy who was unreal at fighting stuff all through the film doesn't suddenly become a feckin potato. Just sorts it out in quick time.

There are so many, here are some:

1. Anakin vs Obi Wan (the fight had been built up for so many years. It was a masterpiece)

2. Jack doe vs Nino ( thats hat, this is a knife)

3. Terminator vs Liquid Terminator. (Pure brilliance)

4. Bruce Lee vs Chuck Norris. (Legends going at it)

5. Daniel Larusso vs Jhonny Lawrence. (No explenaition)

6. Russian agent kitchen fight in The living daylights. (Yeah a Bond movie fight without Bond)

7. Conan vs Sorcerer (mirror fight)

First one that came to mind.

A lot of it is about the build-up too though. By which I mean the literal build-up to the fight but also the building of the Al/Hearst dynamic that's behind it all.

High stakes and character you're invested in are what really make a fight tense.

I know it is unfair to all other posts to include the following but it has to be mentioned!

Randy Daytona vs Feng - Balls of fury
Prodigy vs Master - life or death!

Luke v Vader in the Empire Strikes Back is a childhood favourite
Agree 100%. The hero finally goes up against the villain... and loses.
I also feel that Mark Hamill never gets the credit he deserves for his reaction to the secret of his parentage.

All the more impressive he couldnt hear a word of David Prowse's (Vader) lines.

Any of the Steven Seagal younger days movies. My favourite was probably v screw face in out for justice. Cheesy movies but the level of violence v realism made him a standout. The ultimate brawler.
