Surprised at the lack of player sales (or even substantial links) thus far. Are clubs not very interested in our players or something? Are there any substantial exit links?
We’ll almost certainly sell a centre half as we appear to be targeting an 11th one or whatever it is now.As far as I know, it seems like Darmian and Fellaini are gonna leave.
It also seems likely that Blind will leave. I also reckon Andreas Pereira will leave. and idk thats all i know.
How many players have actually been sold across Europe so far in the transfer window? About a dozen?Surprised at the lack of player sales (or even substantial links) thus far. Are clubs not very interested in our players or something? Are there any substantial exit links?
That makes no sense and isn't how any top club operates. You don't just actively look to get rid of the players who are regularly in the starting XI. We don't need the money.I think we as a club need to be looking to get rid of some of the players who are closer to match day squads.
I have heard, that we want to keep Fellaini at the club - was just an article I have read somewhere...As far as I know, it seems like Darmian and Fellaini are gonna leave.

Wouldn't even get a packet of peanuts for him because he can leave on a free if he wants toWe will get peanuts for the players who we clearly don’t want. (Blind, Darmian, Fellaini etc) as clubs around Europe will wait and steal them knowing we need to upgrade. I think we as a club need to be looking to get rid of some of the players who are closer to match day squads.
That bracket would be the likes of Mata, Herera, Young, Jones, Smalling. For those we would hopefully get decent money and an upgrade on them would actually help us. I mean a slight upgrade on Blind for example isn’t going to set the league on fire - they can go and we replace with youth (TFM, Tuanzabe, McTominay etc).
Yes, the embarrassment that Fellaini is rejecting us rather than the other way round will keep me awake at night for years. Or maybe it won’t.I have heard, that we want to keep Fellaini at the club - was just an article I have read somewhere...
As for Blind - there‘s probably the problem with the wages etc. Because he is not the player you want to spend your transfer and wage budget on (for interested clubs).
Fair point. As far as I know, it seems like Darmian and Fellaini are gonna leave.

We need to sell to balance the wage budget. That's a problem. They'll leave eventually. We don't need to sell to buy so there's no hurry.
All our players are expensive relatively because we pay their premium as we sign them up. When we want to sign a player we want to do this ASAP, but we will typically not sell ours before we buy. First of all we must not show our hands and tell the rest of the world that we are short on LB etc. Secondly we may need to use our surplus player to trade. Thirdly, unless the buying club is PSG, most clubs cannot afford our wage scale. Hence there will be lot of negotiation to push down the transfer fee in order to justify the wage portion.I have heard, that we want to keep Fellaini at the club - was just an article I have read somewhere...

Was thinking the same, don't understand the sell Smalling brigade! It's fecking bizarre how people want us to sell both Jones and Smalling. They're both of our starting defenders. Teams don't just dump their first team players and hope whoever comes in slots in. It doesn't work like that.
I didn't even notice the guy above wants us to sell 4 centre backs what in the name of god
You might want to re read the post before jumping the gun. 2 of the 4 I said i'd definitely sell - Jones and Rojo have unfortunately proved thenselves as sick notes and I doubt they have mustered a full 38 games between them last season. Defenders need consistenty and they do not automatically return to full form after a long injury lay off - that was probably best highlighted with Jones' blinder in the final. It's fecking bizarre how people want us to sell both Jones and Smalling. Nah, I read it. Getting rid of 4 centre backs and replacing them would be an unmitigated disaster. It's not about loyalty, it's about real life. Bedding in 4 centre backs would make us a LOT worse off than we already are, there's no major problem with our centre backs despite what people think, certainly not one that should make us completely rip out 4 of our 5 defenders. That just will not work. You might want to re read the post before jumping the gun. 2 of the 4 I said i'd definitely sell - Jones and Rojo have unfortunately proved thenselves as sick notes and I doubt they have mustered a full 38 games between them last season. The other two I'd sell only if we get replacements in. I doubt anyone could make a strong argument that neither could not be improved upon. Personally, if we got an offer of 35m for lideloff I'd cut my losses considering how fragile he was mentally last year. Smalling has been out best Centre Back, but the guy is very limited with the ball and will soon get punished by VAR with his pulling antics - you have to question how good he is if he can't make an England squad that plays a back 3.
What I find strange about this site is the loyalty to bang average players. If we want to get back to the top, we need to change what hasn't been working.
You have an interesting concept of 'bedding in'. Regularly changing our centre backs due to persistent injuries is far from a stable situation - our defence gets 'ripped out' as a regular occurance due to this issue.Nah, I read it. Regarding your point about Smalling at the end that's laughable. Southgate should be bringing Smalling as he's a better defender than anyone else England have brought up.
Would you like Herrera to go?All our players are expensive relatively because we pay their premium as we sign them up. Words are Fellaini is asking for 200K (for a free agent) which is prohibitively expensive to most clubs, even for a free agent. Fellaini is out of our hands anyway, the only concern are Blind, Darmian, Shaw, add Herrera, Mata if any clubs want and can afford them.
Not in 2018, unless he wants to leave. Mata can easily be replaced by a decent right winger, but a CMF takes time to settle in. Fred and whoever might come in, will need time to settle in. Herrera has "proven" to be ineffective to the team but no harm to keep in for another season just to make sure. I knows his contract run out next summer, but so did Fellaini. Call it a 20m insurance policy.Would you like Herrera to go?
I mean I understand that the likes of Mata could be let go off but Herrera is still a decent player and brings passion to our squad and has very good ball winning skills - so my question is: with Carrick retired, McTomminay not on a high enough level just yet - who would be backup for Fred?
Silly knee jerk comments in June. Players will start moving after the World cup, those not involved are now on holidays. You'd think it was September they way you're going on. Blind, Damian etc will all be gone before the new season.Who fecking wants anyone we're trying to sell?
Not like we're stockpiling world beaters.
I still stand by it, who would want Blind or Darmian? They’ve hardly played last season. We’re going to have to get their agents to whore them out because no one is going to be knocking our door down for them.Silly knee jerk comments in June. You can keep them in the book until their contract runs out, then they can leave for free and find a new club. Or you can knock 3m off your demand which is equivalent to a subsidy of 20K p.a. over 3 year. I believe we gave much more on Rooney's deal in order to trade him off. Darmian is wanted by Juventus, possibly a reasonable deal on table. Blind is still a Dutch international, 2nd tier Bundesliga clubs can use him. There are plenty of clubs who would want Blind or Darmian. Problem is, none of them think they're worth or are willing to pay near the sort of wages the players want/expect.
Absolutely, especially at the moment and also the prices we get for our players. There are up to 12/13 players I wouldnt be exactly gutted for different reasons to see moved on, which is sad to say when its virtually half the squad of the club you support.I'm always dissapointed at our outgoing transfers, we always seem to want to keep everyone
I really find it incredible how quickly people are ready to give up on Lindelof. He's young and actually starting looking better by the end. He definitely deserves more time.Maybe just paper talk but they say Everton's manager, Marco Silva, is interested in Lindelöf. If true we should bite his hand off!
