What a shame at such a young age. I'll never forget that beauty of a goal he scored against us for Fulham. RIP.

I think we were linked with him at one point if memory serves correct. Seemed like a great guy. Hopefully his family and friends receive any help they may need.

Very sad. Had no idea he was ill. Remember him scoring a beaut for Fulham against us. That Senegal team was such a fun underdog at the 02 World Cup.

RIP.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Remember in Dec 05, away to Fulham, he scored an absolute rocket. Always wanted United to sign him cos of that and his sheer size. He was massive. RiP Papa.

Was a really good box to box midfielder for Fulham and then Pompey when they won FA cup in 2008. And the historic winner v France. Can remember bunking off school to watch that in 2002.

Fulham had a really nice midfield in those days with him, Boa Morte and Steed Malbranque.

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
My first, very selfish thought was that he is the same age as me.

So very sad. Do you know why he died so young? None of the reports I've seen have mentioned it.

I saw on either twitter or reddit that Lou gehrig's was mentioned. But not sure where that poster got the information from

When I was about 10/11 (might have even been younger) I was on holiday in Spain watching that game. The game finished 1-1 and my Dad was talking about what a great goal it was, even after full time. I was too immature at the time and was too busy sulking about the draw to appreciate that goal.

Anyway, RIP Papa Bouba Diop
