This is a bit of a scary comparisonA closer more apt comparison is probably AwB. Fast, physical, used to be a winger but mediocre with the ball. Hopefully Dorgu is better at the football side than he was. Or at least is a beast defensively.

he's the ideal type of wing back that Amorim wants in his team....and my god do we need some pace injected into this teamDon’t get me wrong, a very classy player on the ball. But one paced. Dorgu is said to be rapid, great stamina and 6ft2. A perfect fit for Amorim
I do not remember AwB being either strong/physical or fast. And he had this habit of jogging even when we desperately needed him to sprint.A closer more apt comparison is probably AwB. Fast, physical, used to be a winger but mediocre with the ball. Hopefully Dorgu is better at the football side than he was. Or at least is a beast defensively.
Dan James would actually be a good fit for a wingback roleDan James was rapid and look how that worked out.

No proof of that yet. We had positive youth signings under the previous regime too, I remember how head over heels we were when we got Hannibal in.Diego Leon, Sekou Kone, and less so the fella from Arsenal. I get we are all numb to the failures under the previous management, but overall the signings under the new regime have been of good quality and value, focussed on the present and future
Wish we still had himNo proof of that yet. We had positive youth signings under the previous regime too, I remember how head over heels we were when we got Hannibal in.
Don't remember him being very tricky against a low blockDan James would actually be a good fit for a wingback role
Thought he'd basically got his agent to name drop us so PSG would give him an improved dealI'm against this as it would seem like that would be the end of us trying to get Nuno Mendez unless we sell shaw this summer which is going to be highly unlikely
We'd struggle to give Shaw away never mind sell himI'm against this as it would seem like that would be the end of us trying to get Nuno Mendez unless we sell shaw this summer which is going to be highly unlikely
Rather than getting fleeced for another huge gamble from Serie A, and we know how those tend to work out, we should get Alvaro back for the absolute bargain that is his buyback, and then look to sign someone established in the Prem like Kerkez or Robinson in the summer.
This is what a well-run club would do. So obviously not what we'll do.
Every report I’ve read, every silly analysis thing has mentioned that he’s rapid and has the running power of 2 players
There are plenty of videos available on him, boss. You can see if he's "rapid". I think his speed is average compare to PL players. He's only 20 y.o. though, so it will be another 2-3 yrs "project" while we're slumping in 14th and supposedly broke.
Personally think he should be a buy when we have an established team already, and allow him to develop as utility young player.

I’m sure we can find 16m to buy back Alvaro Fernandez. A mistake letting him go when we have 2 unfit LBsYeah wish we could get an established LWB in this window but just haven't the cash to do it

They are different types. Carreras is silkier on the ball but less athleticIs this guy any better than Fernandez? We can literally get him for like 16m or something since we have a buy back clause.
Because reportedly we'd be willing to pay more money to get him in early and beat competition. Not fully convinced from his all touches vids but hope we know what we are doingWhat's the consensus on this? I know Napoli have been talking to him all season and apparently there's an agreement in place for the summer. But the links keep coming in for United
Did you ever see him speeding back?
Therefore all rapid players are shit?Dan James was rapid and look how that worked out.
AwB was a 9 out of 10 on one on ones. Dorgu looks like a 5 out of 10. He looks better on the ball though.A closer more apt comparison is probably AwB. Ok, would you mind elaborating a bit? Genuinely curious here, what do you mean they have no credibility? That channel is considered dirt around these parts. No credibility whatsoever

Not saying they're flawless or anything, but compared to many other channels that don't actually perform any substantial analysis, I think their content is usually a lot more informative.
He doesn't really look any faster than Wan Bissaka when we signed him. Which isn't slow but certainly not rapid either. For rapid I'm thinking Davies, early days of Werner, 20 year old Rashford level.Every report I’ve read, every silly analysis thing has mentioned that he’s rapid and has the running power of 2 players

We are always overpaying for potential. And not even the incredibly talented players. We usually pay big money for middling potential.AwB was a 9 out of 10 on one on ones. Dorgu looks like a 5 out of 10. He looks better on the ball though.
Interesting and raw prospect. United are paying for potential.

I don't think €35-40 million euro would count as a hidden gem you refer to. I think purchases like Diego Leon are the hidden gems the fans can get on board with. I think most fans are just concerned that firstly it's a lot of money on potential and also from Dorgu's highlights, he appears to be limited in many obvious areas. Obviously I don't think many of us have watched enough of him to give a detailed synopsis of what he will offer. I think the fans are mostly concerned because when there is a lot of money being mentioned, we want those transfers to immediately help the team and it's hard to tell if Dorgu will do that.I’m still astounded at the rate that people have written him off, despite countless times a player looks good on video and there will be posts saying “yeah but anyone can look good on video, let’s wait and see how he performs for us” - & this guy is literally completely being written off as shite before he has kicked a ball.
CAF: We must sign more hidden gems, no one has ever heard of!
Also the CAF: No one has heard of this guy, he must be shite! We need a well known proven player!
