There's nothing new at this time, unfortunately. It might be a while before we see an update (possibly around November).
Would love if he signed up. He surely will love what we building here and that we finally have a team that will compete. Paul has been superb this season. Also showing a real commitment and professionalism.

Here's hoping he's feeling convinced about our ability to compete for major honours.

Pogba doesn't need replacing? Man, I would like to smoke the same thing which you guys are smoking. It would be a huge loss and I don't think there is a like to like replacement in world football now.
Couldn’t agree more. Some of these posts are astonishing. Yes, we still need to sign a proper #6, but if Pogba leaves, we’re in a need of a complete midfield rebuild.

Imagine watching Fred stumble over himself in the midfield for years and thinking he’s capable of stepping into Pogba’ role in the team.

He's a goner, i think he's tired of the iffy nature of playing for us. One second substandard players are all over the place, the next moment poor coaches are Then the media blame him for everything and some fans just dont like him. It probably amazes him that he can play so well and still not have crazy fanfare.

After he leaves, we're going to be in trouble. We're going to nees 2 midfielders who can pass the ball. I mean, really pass the damn thing and we're also going to need another winger. Playing forwards in the wings is nice and cute but to win we're going to need real widemen who can play wel through the phases and defend well.

I hope Pogba doesn't read Redcafe. Some of the shit in here is a joke.

Who are you going to sign to play CM that is better than Paul Pogba?

I hope he signs an extension and keeps the haters hating.

7 assists in 4 games. Deal with it.

Wasn't there was an update from Custis? Something along the line that he is open to renew now and few details are left?

However last year ended with 3 assist and 3 goals in 26 games. That is not good enough for a player with his ability in my book. And I do understand doubters considering last year. Would be amazing if Ole could find a perfect partner to Pogba in the middle, and succeed in signing him on for another 4 years.
I do not think Pogba want to sign on for more years with Manchester U, and I don't think Ole is going to replace him if he goes.
Pogba was injured for a substantial part of last season then he caught Covid. He also largely played in a double pivot when involved. He was one of our most consistent performers for the second part of the season, only behind Luke Shaw though.

Pogba has been consistently great for the last 9 months to 1 year now. He's absolutely key to this side at the moment.

I think many fans do want him to stay because he genuinely seems very happy here now, but at the end of the day it is his choice.

I reckon if we do well. If the fans make him feel wanted. If his teammates (especially Ronny) and his manager can convince him, he will stay.

Even on the Caf, that indeed used to be quite harsh on Pogba and there were indeed some names floating around as potential replacement that would now sound as a joke, vast majority has seen the form Paul consistently shown over the last year or so, there’s no discussion that him gone makes us weaker and that to get this kind of quality on the market it’s next to impossible - unless you pull off a masterpiece like us with Varane, still can’t believe it.

So because he gets a little stick from United fans when he plays badly (this is his 6th year with us, and he's been far from consistent) means he doesn't feel loved? How is going to Madrid where they booed Ronaldo for cripes sake be any better than here? I hope he performs to his current form from day dot or he's going to be having white hankies waved at him all the time.

It's NOT a coincidence that Paul Pogbas stats look better after we've signed a better Centre Back and better attackers.

Imagine we actually went and bought a top quality CDM....

I honestly think it's too late now, which is a shame cos we are really building towards something.

I just look at the banner on the megastore. Pogba not included, even after the club took time to update it for Ronaldo. Plus the : Here we belong tagline is hardly subtle.

Pogba staying would be huge but I just can't see it. I think we will do something this season and he will be able to go with his head held high.

Yes it was a tuff year for Pogba, totally agree.
He was good at the end of season, but still not as good as I see him as a footballer. He is as close to a superstar in football there is to be, and he shows that now and then but not enough(for a superstar).
I do not think Ole ever will play with an specialist 8 and a 6, he wants the double pivot and he wants Pogba in it. With all the luxury players on the top 4 spots, Pogba may be one to many luxuryplayer if he doesn't find the perfect match.

I hope he signs. He has found a new level of consistency. I think he will also understand that once you leave United, in the social media game, the only way is down.

I hope he stays. If you're serious about competing for titles, you don't let a player of that ability leave. You just don't. He's been insanely good so far this season

I'll believe it when I see it. I predicted he would play this "almost ready to sign" nonsense for the majority of this season. He'll go wherever he can get pay the most, that's usually the case with Raiola's clients. Could still be us, but there's no way he won't "ask" for a bigger pay increase.

Hope he does stay he has been really good this season with 7 assists I think. However it'll also depend how much he wants to get paid and what his agent wants too.

Never understood why fans care about salaries, they all get paid a ridiculous amount.

I think he causes more problems than he solves for this United team. Would prefer to let him leave. But I have trust in Ole eventually making it work if he signs.

At worst, it would mean a transfer fee if he does later decide to go.

I would never go as far to saying I have sympathy for football players in these situations such as Paul Pogba finds himself in however I can fully understand any dilemas he may have, we as fans of course find it easy to say sign a new deal as we all fully believe our club is the best in the world and so we should,

However Pogba is now 28, played a massive chunk of his career for a very poor and in transition United with very little success to show, yes of course he is motivated by money (aren't we all?) but i do think Pogba is determined to also win trophies and his next move in his career will heavily rely on where he truly believes that might be possible.

- I believe he'd love nothing more than to win the league and champions league in a United shirt, but can he see enough right now in this team to think this is achievable ? I think signing Varane & Ronaldo surely must improve those chances
- Does he move to Madrid where there is always a chance to win trophies ?
- Juventus I think looking from the outside in now does not look like an exciting prospect if your main aim is to win trophies
- PSG is the only place you are probably going to be guaranteed to win Trophies but it's a very underwhelming league to go and spend the prime of your career in

Massive decision for him, this is the biggest and most important contract of all for him, sure probably because it will be the most money but also it will be where he hopes he can win trophies, i genuinely have no hard feelings if he goes elsewhere but my bias decision is were one of then most exciting teams in the world right now and we are 1-2 seasons away from winning very big trophies.

For the first time on Saturday since his first season, it felt like he wanted to fit in and make it work. He kept the simple things simple and worked hard to help out Matic. There are a lot of players in the squad who look up to Cristiano and don't want to let him down in any way and I don't think Pogba is any different from that. The star power of Ronaldo means he is more of a cog in the squad than someone in the spotlight.

It influences how much the club can spend on other players and if it isn't reasonable within the wage structure, the wage structure might get worse.

Which might be why a CDM wasnt affordable for exame because some of our average players are on stupidly high wages and very difficult to offload. Hence why there is still a big hole in a team that could challenge for all the trophies otherwise.

It isn't that crazy.

Great pragmatic post that puts it all in perspective. Had we not signed the players we signed I think it was dead set for him to go in pursuit of trophies elsewhere - (he's gonna earn whatever he wants to earn wherever he goes, so the money is a moot point honestly) now we actually look like challenging for honours it makes his decision that much more difficult.

I agree, it's a difficult situation to be in as a professional, but I believe with genuine superstars such as Ronaldo, Varane, himself and Bruno we actually have a legitmate chance to win trophies. We've gone from strength to strength since Ole took over, and right now we look like genuine contenders. Ronaldo changed everything by coming here, and I honestly believe that he will prove the deciding factor in Pogba's renewal. It would be a damn shame if we lost him just as he's becoming the player we all knew he could be....

No it doesn't, not to the extent that fans make out at least "this player shouldn't be earning this amount" reeks of jealousy & contempt, and our wage structure is absolutely fine for a club our size.
We're a big club, we pay big wages to big name stars and since Ole's turned the squad around we've actually reduced our overall wage bill while massively improving the squad.
A CDM wasn't affordable not because of the wages, but because the Glazers are leeches who take more out than they put in.

Fans care more about the possibility of Pogba earning 400k+ a week when we've got 4th choice players who will play 90mins of football in the span of 9 months earning 60-80k a week (Mata, Jones, Heaton etc) says it all quite frankly, if you want to trim the fat then there's much more urgent issues than someone of Pogba's calibre getting a pay rise.

The club have shown they mean business this summer, and that's all he's asked for.

The squad we have now there isn't really any excuses, if he's truly happy here then he should stay IMO. Obviously the bright lights of Madrid will tempt him, but I think he'd be making a bad move heading to them right now.

We genuinely need maybe another RB and a CDM/DLP and the squad is pretty complete.

He has got to be looking at the team sheet and thinking there's potential here now. Meanwhile Spain is on the decline and the two superstars are gone, one of whom has just arrived at the club you're already at.

I'd expect him to sign a new contract that contains clauses to let him go if we have another failed season.
