What about Barthez. Was dumped by Man. United after that Ronaldo hat-trick. Can't remember where he even went to in France (Marseille?) but got back in as France number one for 2006 WC and had a very solid tournament. Only conceded 3 goals in the 7 games and was only a missed penalty away from getting another World cup winning medal.

In the second season yeah, he also looked like done at top level at city (motivation, fitness issues) and then looked like completely new player at Juventus.
He was good at City before he went on strike too

Yeah he was good, then looked like done at top level for various reasons and then looked like peak Tevez at Juventus.
