Daley blind. Still annoyed we let him go. Very underrated no fuss with him could play multiple positions and he was the sole reason why Chris smalling looked good one season

Did he actually play? I know we had him as a youngster under Dave Sexton and then he moved to Vancouver before big Ron signed him again. However I don't remember him playing for United.
Beardsley wasn't at the club under Sexton.

He arrived from Vancouver on loan in 1982 when he was 21 years old. He played in the Reserves making his first team debut in the League Cup v Bournemouth.

Eric Harrison convinced Atkinson that at that time, Mark Hughes had more potential. David Platt was also pushing for a place. In then end United decided not to make the loan into a permanent transfer (£250,000 I think) and Beardsley returned to Canada.
