Let the mega thread :nervous: begin!

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has opened the door for every interested club in Europe to bid for his client, while indicating that only an offer of around the €100m (£71.7m, $110m) mark will tempt the Serie A champions to part with their prized possession. The midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, Chelsea and a return to Manchester United during the previous summer transfer window.

The French international midfielder is most likely to leave Turin this summer, with the La Liga being touted as a potential destination. Raiola, however, believes it will ultimately be the player's decision based on where he will be most comfortable. The agent's words will set in motion what could be the biggest transfer bidding war in recent times. Apart from the English and Spanish clubs, Raiola is confident that Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain can also afford to match Juventus' valuation for the player.

"We'll see what Barça's project is, and what Paul's project is. All doors are open to all clubs. For now, the young man decided last summer to stay for a minimum of one year at Juventus. We should always respect the will of a player when he chooses with his heart," Raiola said, as quoted by the Guardian.

"We can't give figures, but last year Juventus said no to offers of €85m. One hundred million euros? Juve have always said that's the sum they want. It's a way of saying he's one of the best players on the planet. When he left Manchester [United] for Juve he chose with his heart, and it will be the same with his next club."

"There are others who can afford him. Bayern Munich can afford him, Paris Saint-Germain can afford him ..." the Frenchman's representative added, when asked about other clubs from Europe being able to afford his client.

Not worth it for me and every time I see him, I see nothing to suggest he is in that class yet. Just my opinion of course.

This makes is so much more painful that we let him go :(

up to this day he hasn´t shown anything that would justify such a fee. It is a big season for him. After Vidal, Pirlo and Tevez left he is the main guy.

We don't need him anymore, not for €100m.

I'd rather spend that money on 2 or 3 world class attacking players to fix our issues upfront.

We can't give figures, ... One hundred million euros? Juve have always said that's the sum they want

Agents really are a blight on football. I know they are a necessary evil to ensure players get their fair cut but this kind of super agent shit annoys me. Obviously United have benefitted more than most clubs by having this kind of set up in place so we can't complain too much as fans, but still.

I'd rather not have him then ever deal with Raoila. The man is human garbage.

Pogba also doesn't look nearly as good without Pirlo and Vidal (or Marchisio) doing the work in a 3. Methinks given Juve's form and his decline, probably wish they'd taken the 100m in the summer!

Can't envision him playing for us.

Can't think of a logical reason as to why he would sign for us.

We don't need him now and his agent whoring him around after 2 seasons would be more trouble than it's worth. I'd rather spend the money elsewhere.

Schneiderlin - Pogba
Mata - Herrera - Griezmann
Martial
Vive la France?

He has certain definicies in midfield that stop him from belonging to the elite of that position and yet his move to no 10 has been a disaster.
For all 100m could buy you we could have another Fabregas on our hands.

I don't think he can play in a 2 man midfield, kinda like Toure. He has to either be the number 10 or the third man in midfield. I would love him here but I think if we get him he will be a luxury buy and not someone we need, and for that amount of money, we can't be buying a player we don't need.

Would love him back at United, and i dont agree we are "set" in midfield as some others do. Carrick is on his last legs and seems to be declining by the day, and Bastian doesnt look like he'll be able to play every minute of every game. We could certainly use another world class CM to replace Carrick. People in other threads keep saying we need a few superstars to round out the team too. He's potentially one of them.

As for the price, he's worth what top clubs will pay. And if we want to win Champions League's again we are going to have pay big money for big players.

Never happening though, after the way he seems to have been treated previously, i dont see it happening.

Neymar - Suarez - Messi
Pogba - Biscuits - Rakitic

If Barca can afford that, i think thats what will come about.

Has he struggled along with Juve this season, or stood out as one of the best players being dragged down by a struggling team?

To think he couldn't get past Ando and Cleverley

That's what, £70m.

di Maria was £59m?

Considering age, potential etc, it's not outrageous to think that is what he'd cost, especially what with the way football is going.

Remember, what with the new TV deal for the league being a 71% increase on previous deal, it's not outrageous to think we'd pay it.

Barcelona will get him. And for less than 100m euros.

The thing is, I doubt clubs will pay anywhere near that for a CM.

They would pay that for wingers, 10s and strikers, but not for a box-to-box midfielder.

I don't see anything massively wrong with that ballpark, so long as its a well structured deal but then again I'm one of his biggest fans. i could see us paying 50m, and like 20m in add-ons to represent the correct value on his current career trajectory.

Something like,

Schweinsteiger ------ Schneiderlin
Pogba
Winger--------------Winger
Martial

He's not going for a hundred million Euros. No club is going to offer that much for him unless he and Juventus pick up their form massively. At the moment Juventus are probably regretting not taking whatever mega amount of money was offered to them this summer.

He's not that good. Central midfielders don't cost that much money, with the touted fee usually reserved for attackers and goalscorers. Such a fee would present a major change in the dynamics of the transfer market.

If true This will be a straight bidding fight between city and PSG.

Can't see anyone stumping up that sort of money apart from those 2

That is unless...dare I say if woody is going full muppet then we bid 100 million or thereabouts for Neymar which would give barca the cash to chase Pogba

No thanks. Real or Barca can pay 100m for all I care, massively overpriced now. I don't see him wanting to come back either.
