Would you accept Dybala and Sandro for Pogba?

Literally the only person from the entire group that isn't properly dressed is Pogba. This isn't about fashion or social media or whatever else. The manager sets the tone and every little detail counts when creating a disciplined squad of humble and hard-working players.

I'm sure that no top manager would stand for something like that either, if anyone wants to argue that Solskjaer is in no position to demand stuff like this in the modern day or doesn't have the pedigree for it. He may not have the legacy of Zidane as a player, but is a Manchester United legend and forever will be.

It also looks like the players are not impressed with Pogba's behaviour and he is nowhere to be seen in the group photos from the plane. Our supposed face of the club can't even muster a smile for a picture anymore.

If we're selling to Madrid I really wouldnt mind taking Isco as part of the deal. £60-80m + Isco and we'd be a much better side in possession and work rate instantly, and then being able to sign another midfielder with the remaining funds. Really feel like it's best for us to just let him go if he wants to leave, important to start this season as a fresh start, everyone moving forward together, not prolonging the transition.

I don't want any Madrid player, unless they explicitly desire to come to United. We should stop repeating the same mistakes over and over again, it's madness.

That piece is very telling, Pogba is trying hard to sulk and the players are maybe starting to marginalize him. Let's see how this plays out.
 
Pogba came out and all but said he wanted to go.

His agent has come out and explicitly said he wants to go.

He then turns up to the airport for the pre season tour with a face like a slapped arse and not following the dress code that every other player did. How can anyone think it's just a coincidence?

Well I think it's pretty obvious what Pogba is doing, it maybe a small thing but it's undermining the manager publicly. In the first few hours of returning later than everyone else. You can only imagine how he is going to be in training.
 
Was Woody on the flight?
Or did he stay behind to conclude some incoming signings...? :rolleyes:

Same mistake? Like what? Di Maria failed for multiple reasons, one of the main being the manager and his style of play being polar opposite to the players. Look at 10 years ago when we gave Madrid Ronaldo but chose not to take Sneijder or Robben. Look at Sanchez to Arsenal after Barca. Even Pedro to Chelsea. They are quality players, and if they want to join, then they'd be brilliant additions. Isco as a creative midfielder would be a brilliant replacement, improve us in possession and give us loads of creativity in there.

It's not a matter of getting some random past it player like Bale. Get someone who is still at a good age, and the right profile of player for the needs of the team. Isco would tick those boxes.

This is the one where we really missed a trick. Robben especially. That being said it seems SAF was never going to sign him for a couple of reasons rightly or wrongly.

My point is about getting players that don't want to come here for anything else but a ton of cash. Back then Snejder and Robben would have loved to come to United for footballing reasons and we really fecked it up.

Why would Isco want to come here exactly? He hasn't been motivated enough to fight for a spot at Madrid, their fans can confirm that. If we had bought at least one CM by now, the club would be in a far better place to negotiate and stand its' ground. Another amateur mistake by our board and owners.

He's wearing a sweater, dress shirt, and red tie. It's not like he's wearing a Juve kit or a JLingz hoodie. Again we are talking about a dress code and trying to weave a narrative out of it. A fecking dress code :wenger:

It's about respect.

The manager has told the players how he expects them to dress and pogba has just ignored it. You've got your head in the sand if you don't see anything wrong with it.

SAF didn't want him in the first team. But SAF saw potential and was hoping to nurture it. The rest is history.

It's definitely happening already. This isn't Mourinho and the whole squad will back Ole no matter what, I'm sure of that.

Why would he be allowed to be different from everyone else? Is he the boss of the club, the owner or director? I'd imagine the mentioned people would also follow a dress code when appearing publicly.
 
What would it actually take for Pogba fans to cop on? Does he need to post an instagram of himself flushing the shirt down the toilet? Probably that will be brushed off as nothing too.
He has clearly wanted out since he got his agent to tout him to Pep/City a year and a half ago (coincidentally when City had gone clear and it became obvious we were fighting for 2nd - he wanted the easy way to the trophies rather than a fight)
Doesnt matter how talented he is (undeniable) or whether he has been our best player (stats wise yes but debatable), His attitude is worse than poor and no way someone we can rely on or build round. Absolutely hate that he turned it on for a few weeks after getting rid of the manager who “fecked with the wrong baller” before starting to phone it in again for Ole.
We need to get rid ASAP. Him in the dressing room is just inviting a negative atmosphere. Massively disappointing 3 years sadly.

I just don't think it matters. If this is really Pogba's way of rebelling then he's an idiot, b/c it's extremely petty and doesn't change anything.

Guess what would be a more impactful way of rebelling? Not coming on tour. Crazy idea huh? My take is that most people didn't expect him to come on tour and now he is they are trying to find anything to criticize him for.

It's a dress code that EVERYONE else followed, it's just the start of him pushing for his move, if you can't see that you have a very rosy pair of spectacles on.

Of course he was going to go on tour, there is a good chance he will still be at United next year. What don't you get, he has said twice now in not so many words he wants to go and his bottom feeder agent has publicly stated he does wanna go.

Because exemptions happen frequently for loads of things.

What standardized dress codes do managers and owners follow? I don't think you thought through that example...

It's not standardised, it's a demand made by Solskjaer and has been happening since he became our manager in December. All players were made to follow it and Pogba has never been an exception to that.

It's not hard to put the club uniform and get some normal official shoes on like everyone else. It takes literally 5-10 minutes to do so.

I'm talking about your comment about owners and managers. They all wear different things as long as it's tasteful.

When in public, they also make sure to look formal and properly represent their organisation. They may or may not have a dress code so that is why I used the example. Pogba in business terms is a simple employee and has to listen to his manager's demands.

Everyone else has so far done that - until now and considering what has happened throughout the summer, it's just another sign of what to expect from Pogba in terms of behaviour, attitude and application.

Him refusing to go on the tour opens up a whole new level of bitterness and possibly legal ramifications.

There's a reason you very rarely get players handing in transfer requests, never mind going on strike. it's not a good look PR wise and Pogba is all about PR.

I think you're massively in denial if you don't think Pogba not adhering to the dress code means anything. Of course it does.

Either he's doing it on purpose as a way to undermine Ole, or he's just thick and hasn't been paying attention to what Ole has been saying.

Lukaku had a pullover on as well. I guess that's the code for the players wanting to leave. Weird how a Tottenham fan is invested in the dress code of our players.

There is really nothing to "get". It's obvious he want out (anyone can read a paper). What I'm debating is the importance of this "rebellion".
