Pogba suspended for alleged anti-doping offence | Banned for 4 years

I think their scope is any player who is registered to play irrespective of who plays on any given time. I mean even as a crock who just warming the bench the dude is absolutely a nightmare to manage. Im loving this.

Aren't drugs tests random selection at the discretion of the testers?

Testosterone seems to be the new drug of choice and as such it's now being more widely tested for and scrutinised. There was some reports earlier this year that PL footballers almost never get tested for it and overall they never even get bans for failing drugs tests.

Yeh. When thinking about the goal of drug testing, that discretion doesn't make sense to include unused players. Why would it matter if a player was drug to the tits if he doesn't play?

What a player he could have been if he had his head in the right place. Such a shame.

I wonder if it was taken for some injury recovery medication and he was told he wont get caught. Players might get desperate to come back and do stupid things

An absolute pillock of the highest order. What an embarrassing career

What a shame! One of the most naturally talented players I have seen at Old Trafford in my 25 years of watching football. Hope he has a happy life! Always seemed to have external parties bothering him and his focus.

It would be naive to think that players these days are playing into their late 30’s at the top level without some help along the way to recover from injuries and recover faster. The game has never been more physically demanding.

Pogba’s probably accepted something from someone outside of his circle (Juventus, France, trust personal doctor) and he’s been caught in the act because the person giving it him doesn’t care or doesn’t know banned substances in football. Or he just genuinely thought he’d get away with it or was desperate to get back fit.

Honestly one of the saddest ever careers for a footballer. Mistake after mistake in his decision making.

Thought that his 2020/21 season was brilliant and that he was our best player. Shame he fecked it all up from then onwards.

Best thing he did for united was turning down that ridiculous contract offer thinking it was too low.

I actually wanted him to stay too, even if it was just to get a price for him cos losing him for free twice is ridiculous.

But yeah given whats happened since to him and to us (Ronaldo/sancho situations), thank feck he left!

They should strip France of the 2018 World Cup and award it to the People's Team, England.

We missed a trick here!

Imagine having Greenwood, Antony, Sancho and Pogba shit all at the same time!

Also imagine with Mourinho as our coach, now that would have been sick.

Mexican soap opera meets jersey shore and the wire.

That's him done. There's no coming back from this. Juventus will probably terminate his contract, they're lucky they got him on a free.

What a waste of great talent.

Usually a 4 year suspension if it’s on purpose. 2 years if it isn’t.
End of his career?

If he gets 2 years, he could still play in lower leagues or Saudi Arabia with 32 if he keeps his athletics. But in europe on an international level, he is done.

Drugba
I made the same joke earlier in the thread but I don't feel it got the laughs it deserves

His playing career is surely over.

Still had a career that most players can only dream of, nevertheless can't help but think he wasted his talent away.

Why doesn't he go down the Onana route of "I didn't mean to take it"? He got 9 months, didn't he?

Bit different. Onana tested positive for a non performance enhancing diuretic. They showed proof that his wife had been prescribed it, so the story was he took it in error.

Enhanced testosterone levels are probably a bit harder to explain away.

A sad end to a decent yet should have been utterly great career. Give this guy Bellingham’s drive & what could have been.

I don't know why people are still talking about him. Average to poor player who was nowhere near good to play for big teams. 1 good game/ 20 games and he got reputation of a world class player. This is just a cause of social media.
