Wait, people are upset? Can barely remember a Heaton save and United first half were very good. Heavily rotated 11 and in the end comfortable.

Antony has a terrible habit of being on a break and slowing down the play, which is disappointing but early days.
This is exactly what ETH wants his winger to do. Let the other players move up, push the other team deep, pin them down. Same what Pep is getting from Bernardo Silva.

Garnacho looks the real deal. Pelistri lively also, like to see him get a go in Premier league

Great stuff. A very good result considering the starting team was a much changed. Through to a semi final, debut for a couple of players (including an academy 17 year) and a brace for our seriously in form player. Satisfying night.

Didn't see it but it sounds Garnacho did very well too.

Job done.

Clever from EtH to take the risk on Rashford, Casemiro and Eriksen from a momentum perspective. It can be as important as fitness.
The game was turned round, credit EtH and the lads. Much to the disappointment of the two ABU tossers on the garbage TalkSport radio coverage. Incredibly anti-Utd commentary. 'Micky Gray,' according to his wikipedia page, "had trials with Manchester United and signed schoolboy forms, but decided against signing a contract at Old Trafford and continued playing for Fatfield Juniors F.C. in the Hetton Youth League."

As you would.

Garnacho was great but Pellestri showing there is something there again.
Rashford in incredible form, perfect timing too with some big games on the horizon

Poor performance after a decent start. Let's hope we're far better than that on Saturday.

Never a doubt but, would have preferred to get that second earlier. When Eriksen/Case came on, it seemed to actually seemed to lose control for a bit even.

Garnacho was excellent and I never get why when a guy starts like that and his defender on toast you don't get the ball to him more. I thought Martinez had several iffy moments, not sure if he was just playing overly casual or what but, good game to get him going again.

Great for Rashford to get the 2 goals but, he did have a bit of uncessary moan at McTomminay who had his shot blocked, make the pass to Rashford was far more difficult when the shot was on.

Anthony scored but he really needs to step it up.

Sancho will be coming back and with Sancho stamping his claim to the left hand side, that right side is going to be up for grabs.

He then has to potentially also compete with an in form incoming Amad Diallo. Now, Pellestri also looking dangerous also adds to that competition.

The difference at the moment is that he doesn't seem to know how to attack his man in England. It's very dangerous for him because he, Amad and Sancho are quite similar in that their more playmakers than pure wingers or a goalscoring inside forward.

He needs to learn how to buy space for himself. It's not about his right foot, it's about his ability to get into positions where he doesn't have to use it as much.

We made it tough for ourselves tonight but again we come off with three goals. Its starting to become a habit, which can only be a good thing.

Glad to see some of the youngsters get chances. Pellistri finally got a debut and took to it like a duck to water. God knows why he's been behind certain others until now.

On to the next one.

Rashford’s finishing bas gone up levels. Two strikers goals, great to see.
Maguire looked all over the place against Charlton. Just horrible.
I’d like to see more of Pellistri and less of elanga.

Team looked a bit disinterested in the second half and had a lot of sloppy plays. Credit to ETH for making the necessary changes. Rashford with some nice finishes and continues his goal scoring form into the derby.

Nah it’s about his right foot, he has the pace and balance/technical ability but he has 0 confidence on his weaker side at all so he’s left with one trick in the bag.

The game was really easy, similar to the Everton game in the first half. However, we didn't have the cutting edge to finish chances off and relaxed a little bit. I don't actually think we HAD to bring on Casemiro or Eriksen for this. I thought Fred was fine.

Questions have to be raised about Mctominay. He doesn't provide anything at all in midfield.

Pellestri was a joy to watch and I hope we get to see more of him this season.
As for Elanga I am not even sure the guy has PL level, he definitely should not be nowhere near a club like United.

Pellistri played in the world cup for uruguay....we have to give this kid a chance and see what he is made up.

FFS...he can't be worse than Elanga

I thought the second half bordered on unprofessional at times.

Squad game and all that, but we’ll need to sharpen up in the games to come.

We also create very little without Bruno, it must be said.

You honestly think we didn't create much tonight?

Should have been 3 nil up first half at least.

With one foot, he could easily still attack by driving through the middle. He has enough technique, balance and agility to keep the ball in those scenarios but he just doesn't take it. He could easily be providing low or high crosses into the box after his one twos, but again he doesn't.

Good first half. Awful start to the second and a good ending. Garnacho has shed loads of ability and when he learns to be a bit more clever will be some player. Was impressed by Pellistri when he came on; made some good runs and passes. Elanga wasn't great and McT had a howler - so far off the pace, timing and work rate (first game back though). Casemiro, Eriksen and Rashford upped the levels big time. Hope we get a decent draw for the semis.

I don't see how we can complain. Decent period of control in the first half, a bit difficult start to second half but we still played OK and full control regained when first team players entered the pitch.

Poor defending at times, casual from Martinez and Malacia. But they didn't even threaten us in the end.

This is how games against lower opposition should look like.

We need something. Antony is not it. Elanga is not it. McTominay is not it.

I might not know exactly what we need, but those 3 are definitely not it.

 great logic. Definitely Charlton are up there with Arsenal and City right?
I guess you've not been watching Garnacho in the first team for a while now or unaware how poor Sancho has been often and the amount of fair criticism Sancho and Antony have faced outside of the odd goal they've scored

Yeah it was a good win. They barely laid a glove on us, some of the youngsters did well and we managed the minutes of those who'll play against City. Only bad point was Dalot going off but hopefully that's precautionary. Delighted to see Pellestri get on the pitch and get an assist. He should get more chances now. He seems like a better option than Elanga at the moment, going forward at least.

Into the semi finals! Though we were never really in trouble, it was a really laboured performance, McTominay and Elanga were very poor tonight. Great cameo from Marcus and happy to see Pellistri’s performance too so hope to see more of him.

Sancho would be doing very well to get on at LW ahead of Rashford and Garnacho especially when we don't have a viable back-up to Antony on the right.

Maybe they were influenced by the commentator? The guy on the stream I was watching made a huge deal out of every United mistake and kept talking up Charlton’s performance. I can remember one shot on target from them? The easily saved free kick. We scored three, could easily have scored double that. It was a very comfortable win.

Excellent cameo from Pellistri, he did more in 10 minutes than Elanga did all season.

Rashford with professional finishing, however MotM should probably go to Garnacho.

Heaton and Lisandro both good, McTominay and Maguire just terrible
Job done
again
Marcus is on fire right now!
The anti-Maguire brigade are out in force I see

You do realize that in the first half virtually all of Garnacho's runs came from Maguire passes

Honestly felt we bossed most of that game...and once the damn broke at the very end they had no fight left.

The key though was Rashford and Casemiro coming on who are just white hot. They are both playing at at world class level.

Lastly, I can't believe we were actually kidding ourselves that we were fielding a top 4 PL level squad with Mcfred starting for the last few years. It's almost embarrassing in hindsight.

Pellistri should be used more often. Watched a fair bit of Uruguay and thought he looked decent but ETH sees him in training. Elanga and Mctominay should be sold asap both showed absolutely nothing if there are suitors then get rid.

I don't think any of us were kidding ourselves over McFred
