United reach the group stages of the Champions League with an emphatic 7:1 aggregrate win over Brugge.

Once Rooney scored his first goal tonight the tie was never in doubt. In the second-half United stepped it up a gear and scored three in 15 minutes, with Rooney bagging a hat-trick. Hernandez also missed a penalty.

Brugge were poor, particularly at the back, and United were superior all over the pitch but it's still great to see an emphatic victory. There haven't been many under LVG.

Roll on the draw for the group stages tomorrow...

I fecking knew it was going to be 4-0. I changed my score prediction to 3-0 because I didn't want to be too greedy after getting 3-1 right last week.

Excellent night. Delighted with Rooney, as much for his movement and positioning as his goals.

Rooney!

He needed that. We needed that. Shame Herrera was taken off just when he got going.

What a pass by Schweinsteiger!

They were very poor but a good thrashing. We attempted to thread the ball through the defence on multiple occasions which I hope we will make a habit of. A good confidence boost ahead of the game on Sunday for all involved - especially Rooney (maybe one to forget for Hernandez). Onwards and upwards!

Brugge are shit and that's not being negative at all. They just are.

Still, some excellent play and obviously the most important thing was saw tonight was the return of Rooney's excellent finishing. Eager to see what Rooney shows up on Sunday against Swansea.

Also a small shout to Bastian's epic assist.

Excellent performance!

Happy for Wayne and Ander. Confidence, and let's hope we can carry on and take another win on Sunday.

Enjoyable performance, more than happy with that. Thought we were good in both halves and completely dominant away from home in Europe.

They were woeful, but you can only beat what's in front of you. Nice to look so dominant though. Good confidence booster for some key players.

Herrera shocking. No wonder he doesn't play. Woeful performance. Rooney fat and bold.

Herrera amazing. Should start every game. Carved them to pieces. Rooooooney!!

We're fecking back, finally.

Fantastic performance today, bit crap in the first half but it just got easier and easier for us. I really wish Hernandez scored though :(

Good performance, but we never have a problem against teams that come out and attack us, it's the defensive ones who park the bus that we struggle against.

But nonetheless, good performance and lots of chances created, even if Brugge defended horribly.

Good to watch hopefully we can transfer the form to the league, glad Rooney broke his drought as well.

Excellent win from us. Dominated much of the game, a hat-trick from Rooney, and numerous midfield players all offering valuable assists and contributions. Just need to translate that form into the league now.

Nice to see Rooney getting back on the scoresheet. Solid performances from Mata and Depay. Darmian looked great again. Schweinsteiger changed the game for me and Herrera really justified LvG's faith in him when he was shifted further forward, always thought he looked more comfortable as a #10 than as a orthodox centre-mid. Januzaj was quiet but alright, only bad performance in my opinion was Hernandez who looks completely short of confidence.

Why Herrera is better than anyone in the #10 role atm is not vision or passing or whatever. He's just quicker with his play. we need that in the premier league.

Will be a huge boost of confidence for rooney that. 3 goals in 5 games sounds a hell of a lot better then 0 in 5 that's for sure. Herrera, after a shit first half playing deeper, played great for the 20 minutes as the 10... Should start there ahead of Januzaj who was poor again. Just doesn't look ready for this level IMO (adnan).

Mata and Memphis played well, though Memphis should've scored. The finishing will come, but his movement is great and gives us so much going forwards. Schweinsteiger is class. Our defence is also class. Shaw in particular was beastly today.

Looked like the old United tonight, only difference is our manager wasn't standing on the touchline in a suit chewing spearmint gum.

Good viewing that. Poor opposition, but a player who really needed a goal got three. It really would have been perfect if Hernandez got a brace, as he really should have done.

Solid defensively. Again, only one shot on target.
