Boring and uninspiring performance, but we got the 3 points and give the kids chances, so not much of a problem today.

Played the kids, looked comfortable and came out with the win. What’s not to like.

Nothing to write home about... disappointed with the young lads.

Solid win. Had about 75% possession and were always comfortable. Should have won by 4 or 5. Made it more difficult than it needed to be. Vital first minutes of the season for many players. As usual the match thread fans ruin it for everyone with their incessant knee jerkism and mouth frothing.

The youths all together was never going to be a runaway win. Saw positives. Won. Greenwood. Moving on

Shite. They’re not popular players but we looked instantly better once the suns were made. Tojo is shocking defensively, Young too. Also don’t see what people see in Dalot offensively.

But yeah a bunch of players making their first starts ever and first starts of the season. 3 points and we move on, lovely goal too.

Proved our inability to work our way through a low block is more of a tactical issue than a personnel thing.

Well done Greenwood.

I think Gomes is the most ready of the three for PL football and Tuanzebe shoud start with Maguire.
Poor Chong.

Shitshow to be honest. Started well but Rashford again had one of these days that come way more often than his good ones. After the first 20 mins we were shit. Against a proper wank side. We really struggle to score.

Understand why Gomes doesnt start games..
Understand why Greenwood and Tuanzebe are closer to the starting XI.

First gam/start for many of the XI.. Disjointed.. Expected

Comfortable win. That + minutes for the kids is what I wanted. so no complaints.

More of this next week..

No excuses that was dire. Mason Greenwood one of not many positives. Robbie Savage is a dick.

Gomes needs to play every game. Preferrably at the expence of Rashford. Dude is vaccinated against scoring goals.

Can't see anything resembling United quality in Fred and Chong either.

We were not bad and with a better striker we would have won 4-0. Happy for Greenwood.

Great goal by Mason. Proud of him.

Another reason you love United, opportunities there for the young ones...

3 points and on we go.

Huge moment for Greenwood. We all know how talented he is but don't underestimate the value of getting your first goal! Also good to see Gomes impress, Chong was nervy throughout but again, it was his first start so people have to be patient and realize that some players will take longer to get used to things.

With all the youngsters out there and a fully rotated team, getting the win was the main thing and the youngsters will learn from this.

Start with the plusses: We won, Tuanzebe looks ready, Mason's finishing translates to senior level, Fred again looked okay.

Negatives? Everything else. Can't blame the kids for being kids but the senior players let them down. If we are expecting that lot to bring the youngsters on we may as well loan them out.

Gomes, Greenwood and Axel all showed their class tonight. Chong didn't quite step up but at that age you can have a bad night.

I have tremendous sympathy for any forward players at United. For years the service into them has been absolutely appalling.

We constantly favour passing backwards or out wide.

I really felt for Gomes today. Countless times he was in a pocket of space on the edge of the area asking for the ball but was repeatedly ignored.

Gomes has work to do, but the talent is so so so obvious. He should make it with us.

Chong, I don't really see it and haven't once in any of his games for the first team. Looked class at a lower level, but I do wonder if its a step too far for him at the moment, needs a lot more time. A loan would do him good.

Rashford is getting found out against all quality of opposition.

We were quite good for the first 25 minutes or so, before slowly dropping away and it turned into a bit of a struggle. If Rashford finished one or two of the easier chances in that time it could have been a much easier match, but we got the win in the end.

All the kids looked exhausted after the 55th minute or so, which is somewhat understandable.
