Inject it

They are facing a team that missing a starting CB, missing the entire midfield (only 3 left in whole starting & bench) and losing form striker..
AND, they haven't score a goal against a poor team at home

It really wasn't and I really wonder if our fan base have played organised football at any level at all.

An unreal amount of injuries compounded or contributing to team out of form. (forget manager / player / goal of the month) What's ETH supposed to do, goto Anfield with a 4-2-4 and open up completely ? Oh I forgot everyone calling for his head a few games ago when they didnt agree with one holding and two number 8's.

Listen to shiny teeth's post match appraisal. It's delusional bordering on Man City revisionism where possession is the only rule of the game. It's full of wudda, shudda, cudda.

Would I want to go to Anfield and get a win ? Absolutely but I'm going to give the lads a massive amount of credit for not conceding against a very good title chasing side.
Liverpool were poor today and have been winning while not playing all that well lately. Yes we defended well and some players did well. I'm not saying I expected to win but it wasn't a great game. We had chances to create opportunities on the counter and gave the ball away repeatedly.

We were decimated by injuries, had no confidence, got annihilated last time out there.

Did Virgil van Sore Loser expect more? Sorry, we'll take the point and the clean sheet.

Cannot believe that we got something out of this match, and that we kept them out. Admirable effort, even if we were hanging on for dear life for most of the match.

Højlund is the new Weghorst. He's just never going to score a goal in the league.

They really aren't all that good, Palace set up last week like Utd and they had the better more clear cut chances like Utd had today. They spam long balls and crosses all game and only when the game gets stretched do they even try and attack with pace and width. He puts TAA in midfield to change the angle of the long balls into the channels rather than having him spam crosses.

After the 7-0 and 5-0 the last two seasons, we 100% take that.

It wasn't pretty but we were solid and if we had more quality in attack we could've ended up with all three points.

2 actual CMs.
Yes, I agree there. I think we're going to be far more solid and difficult to beat if we play that way. It's Mainoo + 1 as far as I'm concerned, although that's a lot to place on his shoulders.

My only concern is the lack of creativity we have going through the middle. We just haven't found the balance yet. I don't think we have it with the players currently at our disposal.

Weird game. Both teams were so poor at keeping the ball and our attack was dire again but our defence was top class and with the situation we're in it's a really good point.

Dalot, Shaw, Evans were very good and Varane was immense.

Very happy with a point at Anfield. You can moan about the quality but the fight was there this time at least.

He's just rambling now. Utter clown of manager. United still had the best chances of the game.
We performed alot better than expected, but they had 34 shots and three times our xG. Let's not invent a narrative.

The truth for Liverpool is that if you want to win the league, you need to be beating the likes of us, West Ham and Brighton at home.

He's right. The atmosphere was fecking appalling. Liverpool have one song and they're great for the first 10 minutes after having sung it, but they're generally as quiet as any other team for the bits in between, bar a goal going in.

Feck that 'famous Anfield atmosphere' myth.

Reminded me a bit of that home game where we had 3 injuries in about 20mins and Rashford operating at about 20% mobility for most of the game. And still held them.
And the one at Anfield under OGS where Thiago had one of few very good games - and they created chance after chance - but in the last 20 minutes the match turned around and we had the 2 best chances of the game

I’m lost as to how Liverpools xg was 2.35. How?
Because they had 34 shots. They do this a lot when teams actually defend decently well against them - just blasting it from anywhere. Their xG per shot was like 0.06. We had far fewer efforts, but two were among the very best chances of the game. A bit more experience in our forward line, and that could have been a smash and grab win.

For a team that acts like God's gift to football play, they sure hope a random deflection off an arm is worthy of a penalty and whine when they don't get it.

Fcuk em. Everyone reckoned we were going to get dicked, including half of RedCafe, so 0-0 is a result with the season we are having. Yes, it was poor quality football but I don't care ( for the moment).

Man United the first team to stop Liverpool scoring this season. In Anfield before today Liverpool won every game and scored on average 3 goals per game.

The media were desperate for Liverpool to blow us away today and they're so disappointed they didn't.

The lads in the sky studio used to make an effort and wear a suit, Sturridge looks like he’s off down the pub

Liverpool were absolutely gash by the way.

How did Gakpo shit a hat trick against us? He barely looked like a footballer.

I will take the point. Thought we could have snatched it, really. Maybe a bit daft to say, but we were more compact and had better shape without Bruno in the side....

Good showing, we defended well with very few good chances allowed for Pool. Tactical setup was very good.

Not so good in possession: all things considered that is understandable. Pool made it difficult to play out. Offensively we missed Bruno.

Could have nicked a win here, we had the two best chances in the game.

Love to see Paul Merson right now. Guy is always desperate to have a dig at us. Another bitter ex player from the 90s who Fergie gave nightmares

Whiny long ball merchants, only a long throw specialist away from being Stoke.

Some of them actually look and sound gutted, almost like they had it all prepared to talk about another hiding and don't know what to do when it didn't materialise.
