I pretty much look at our games as an evaluation of who we have that's worth keeping around and who we can have hope for going forward for when we eventually sack Ten Hag, because there's no use in looking at any team/system dynamics with him in charge.

From that perspective, Garnacho even when he has an off day, still keeps going and can come up with a very good assist. Nice to see. Amad looked very good as well, and made some very good decisions to go with his obvious technique. And beat his man to take a shot quickly like a normal winger should do. So positive points there!
Garnacho, Amad, Mainoo, and Hojlund. Pretty much the only ones I'd bother keeping around.

He hadn't, but Forest had decided to put Gibbs-White on a man to man with Mainoo.

So, instead of giving him support, we persist with this suicidal midfield set up. Made worse by having McTominay in there.
Well said. Fully agree with you. Mainoo did not put a foot wrong in my opinion and should not have been subbed.

From today?

Garnacho, Amad, Mainoo, Evans as backup.

Honestly, the rest are just so overrated or past it, its laughable. We needed open heart surgery for the squad, ETH just added 2 more problems to the surgery in Antony (yeah no fecking idea what he does) and Onana. No idea how Mount will fit in the team as well.

Morgan Gobbs-Hite shouldn’t have been on the pitch to score their winner.

On another evening, Dalot scores that screamer and we win.

Antony piss poor and the worst player on the pitch.
Onana should’ve saved the winner.
Bruno and Rashy too careless.
Eriksen’s legs have gone.
McT not United quality.
ETH for some bizarre reason didn’t play Garnacho RW.

At least Diallo was encouraging, actually went by some defenders rather than just delaying play.

Another poor an utterly deflating performance. Finished off the year with a performance that perfectly sums up how we've been for too long this calendar year. It started off brightly this year but has turned so sour.

I'm convinced that with a proper midfield or at least an actual holding midfielder then we don't concede those two goals. That's not to say we would have played well generally but I was concerned with the substitution at half time.

We were absolutely gifted a goal by a keeper who had one of the worst distribution performances I've ever seen.

If Antony starts another game ETH must be sacked.

DDG saves the second goal
Evans at 35 is one of our best players
Eriksen is a pussy and doesn’t get into any challenges
Glad Garnacho passed and Rashford finished
McT is terrible at stepping up and defending
Yes exactly.

First of all, starting Antony was wrong and everyone knew it. Our genius manager thinks Antony can do something and then finally he brought in Amad. Why is McTominay playing? McTominay has a habit of following midfield runners and indeed Forest score the 1st goal on McTominay watch. Erik deserve to be sack, it is no longer about the players or tactics. It is about pure stupidity of our manager who continue his stubborn way. I feel that my life is wasted with this fraud and it is 3.45am here. F off back to Holland.

Square pegs for round holes.
General lack of quality.
Clueless manager.

The Villa win was a fluke, and the result of them insisting on a high line. We are capable of losing any game at the moment. Fun times.

And what the hell were they all at in the first 45? I didn't see the fight you're talking about. Desperate, slow, conservative shite, no Intensity, no personality. Just horrible stuff. I don't excuse Erik, I blame them all. Nigh on unwatchable until it all kicked off in the ladt 20, then just a different kind of shocking.
Listen, they are all not good enough against a top team like Liverpool or City or Madrid

But we were playing goddamned Nottingham Forrest, and whatever bullshit they did in first half, point is - this game was lost by Erik who brought Mainoo off and let McT play hide and seek again. That was the decision that cost us this game. Simple as that

Another rancid one.
Bad enough in its own right, but made even worse by my damn Now tv freezing at 1-0. By the time i found some random stream it was 1-1, but then they scored the winner within an actual 10 secs. You could not make this up.

Even worse, when I switched back to the phone account, there was no sound, meaning I was fuming in pure isolated silence.

That Mainoo sub was a disaster. He wasn’t do much on the ball but was always occupying that critical penalty area spot and winning headers, making blocks. We take him off and guess where we concede 2 goals from.

If Mainoo is not injuried, ETH should go on that sub alone. Not blaming McT for the second goal as he does what he should there, but he is so useless as a DM i dont even know what to say.
Playing McTominay as a DM is about as effective as playing Rashford there: it’s not in McT’s locker. I’d rather Dan Gore came in and had a run.

Beginning to think it will be painful, but for the best in the end. I do not want this lot sneaking into Europe somehow and the people running the club breathing a sigh of relief and thinking everything is hunky dory.

It’s actually weird how often it happens to me where I’ll turn a match on and a goal is scored straight away

How long do we persist with Antony? Other than his clear work rate, I don’t think he has any single quality that adds anything to the team.

Quite possibly the worst transfer in the history of football, and we’ve a few contenders aside from Chelsea’s lot.

Antony should to go back to Ajax again. He will never be able to make it in a top league. While he will be a star in the Dutch.

Agreed. Ridiculous substitution, bringing on a defender would've been better. Iirc, he did something similar at HT against Man City.

As if that wasn't annoying enough, the screen actually froze when the guy hit it too.
Just for the absolute worst case - going behind, almost instantly, and crap footage of it

We are an awful side to watch, benefitted from a sloppy piece of goalkeeping to get back in it and deserved to lose.

We look clueless, create nothing and make the same mistakes every match.

Plenty of players I'd like to never see in a United shirt again.

We expect this team to get a good run of consistent wins in a row?

A keeper who can't save shots not aimed directly at him but can play world class passes. Bought for 50 million?
A right back whose only trait is tackling 1 on 1, and terrible at everything else in the game
A good center back who plays 1 game then gets injured for 5
A center back who is 35 years old and shouldn't be our best player but somehow is
A right back playing left back who is genuinely relegation level quality
A midfielder who can't run for more than 20 minutes after almost dying on the pitch 2 years ago
Mainoo - God bless, good quality
A captain who whigns more than he makes successful passes
Garnacho - God bless, still young but frustrating
A striker, who wants to play left wing, but the 19 year old kid is better, but doesn't want to play striker, doesn't run, doesn't press, jogs around. Gives food/books to kids so he's always good in PR. Oh and on 350k a week because he had 3 good months last season
Antony - Who I am not sure is even a footballer. Does a good fidget spinner impression for no reason. Bought for 80 million?

Cheers United, happy new year.

We are 9 points from 40. Once we get there at least we know relegation isn't a risk.

This is nothing new, but it’s remarkable how poorly we handle these occasions. When the opponent (and their fans) sense a scalp, rather then taking the edge out of the game by exerting control, we do the opposite. We encourage them, we cede the initiative and give opposition supporters all the ammunition they need.

Teams sense blood against us. Time and time again. It just makes the business of winning games needlessly difficult.

All too often we look thoroughly unfocused from a mindset point of view. Particularly in away games.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
I really try not to pin it all on Ten Hag (and I’m not today) but…
  • Stop picking Antony
  • Stop taking Mainoo off unless injured
  • Stop playing McT for the couple of late goals a month or two ago
  • Sub players who don’t run
  • Stop playing Eriksen against fast teams OR for full 90 mins
  • Tell AWB if he jogs back once more, he’s dropped
  • Do some coaching about how to defend against xxxxxxx cutbacks
As well, most of the players are sh!te, just awful attitudes and we need to sell a load asap to cut the rot. Rashford, Antony, Martial, Sancho, McT have to be sold… buy two (fluid) replacements.

If Ten Hag persists with this stuff, he’ll get sacked and I’ll have zero sympathy. If he takes control and subs/drops players for arsing about, decide at end of the season.

Awful performance, players and manager.

Totally agreed. I was absolutely fuming with that decision. Baffled by ETH team selection and subs today

Embarrassing from players and ETH

Still think it's most important to get rid of Glazers but that is under some change with Ratcliffe so reckon next step is to get new manager, just not working out and there has to be a limit like with everyone else, people were shouting Out Out for OGS and Mourinho for doing no worse then this

I've said it before, this is the worst United side I've seen in my 40+ years of supporting them.
