How Shearer decided not to give Onana man of the match is beyond me.

Get in! Big win with all the injuries especially.

Mad that Felipe didn't get a red for that at the end.

Casemiro the modern day Mark Robins?

Hard earned and deserved win in the end, created the best chances in game and eventually took one. Improvement from the league game in the City ground when lost and conceded two goals.

Onana motm for me, Amrabat also looked decent in midfield. I though Dalot also played very well.

On the poor side - Rashford, this time at least he ran.

Awful watch. Two poor teams playing without an ounce of quality between them. It was like watching A third division relegation slog.

Job done, move on.

But we cannot ignore what happened at the end there. Casemiro got sent off for breaking up an altercation by putting a hand on a player's neck/collar area. There was no retaliation from the player because there was no force behind Casemiro's actions. Felipe grabs Bruno's neck with a pinching motion, Bruno is uncomfortable and brushes the hand away-nothing. Like, what other proof do you need that these officials are the most incompetent at top level sport? They will keep screwing teams over without any repercussions and it is taking the joy out of the game.

We seemed solid in midfield after Amrabat moved in field

Might be the most boring game of football I've ever watched

It wasn't pretty but anyone expecting it to be hasn't been watching all season.

But 61% possession and 20 shots away from home is not bad at all.

2024 doesn't read too bad either

City next

Goalkeeper, defence and midfield played reasonably well, the attack was so poor though. The workrate wasn't bad at all, it's just the quality that is appalling at times.

Through to the next round though, that's all that matters :D

Don't want to jinx anything but I've been generally very pleased with Onana's performances the last few weeks. Starting to look like a real £50m keeper finally.

Thought Varane and McTominay had very solid games too, particularly first half, although McT loses points for missing a fair few chances. Pleased with the intent Antony showed too but obviously didn't get the end product he'd have wanted. Still better than the other forwards for me tonight.

He does look unhinged at times, doesn't he, Uncle Case?

My low expectations for the evening were slightly exceeded :) Forest didn't really threaten like I thought they may.

Don't care what happens the rest of the season, we better turn up on the 16th March against Liverpool.

Pray we don't let them get through

All I can think about is Rooney's orange face and white neck. Trump school of tanning.

I get the feeling we are going to be asking the age old question of "Can a win be a loss" after the game with the scum.

Football just should not be this painful to watch.

Having no leftback available hurts us so much. No striker hurts us so much.
Bruno can`t find his form to save his life. Marcus can`t either.
Thankfully Onana has. Looking pretty solid now. Dalot looks good, one of the few players in our squad that looks a bit explosive and athletic. Good to see Casemiro score, hopefully good for his confidence and energy.

Should have been 2-0 early on. Forest then took over and we were absolute dog shit. Such a horrible team to watch.

Haha, spot on. It was hardly a thriller, but we've had much more boring games this season.

Best team won.

Poor quality match though but expected given the patchwork team.

Forest were rubbish and should have done much more at home against a weakened United.

It is a good draw for us, better chance in the quarter final at home than in a semi final/Final at Wembley.

Our stock as a club has fallen so low that expectations will be low even at home , it has been a horrible season. This is a chance for us to salvage something out of it.

And if we get a hammering , we are immune to them now , they don't hurt anymore. which is sad but true.

Wasn't great but neither was it that bad.I do enough moaning when we lose so I'm not going to tonight after we've won a tricky away cup tie.

Whose back for the Liverpool game?

Hoping Hojlund and Martinez can make it back. They'd make a huge difference.

Saved ourselves an embarrassment only to get embarrassed by Klopps kids in the next round .. looks ominous now and for the weekend. Hoping we have a decent squad by the time we play pool
