Very happy with that, the start was very sloppy and we got punished for it but it might've been the kick up the arse we needed because we never looked back from that point. We did struggle to convert the chances and positions we found ourselves in so the pens were a welcome addition but our overall play was pretty damn good.

I'm glad we continued to be positive and push on once we got ahead and then again when they went down to 10, we got rewarded for staying on them and resisting the urge to sit off a bit.

With the stadium news on Tuesday and a big result tonight it feels like the first time in forever that we've built a bit of positivity around the club.

We were the better tean over the two legs by far. We deserved to go through.

Dorgu is getting better every game. Zirkzee is also improving. Heaven did really well for his European debut. Garnacho didn't shoot and was more of a team player today.

Good performance

The only player who you could maybe say didnt play well is de Ligt giving away the penalty

Dorgu a constant threat on the left, no he didnt find a good final ball or shot and needs to improve that but he was able to convince the ref to give a penalty and his break in behind the defender got a man sent off

Zirkzee kept the ball better, was positive and created some good chances for something to happen and had 2 shots on target

Bruno and Casemiro ran their socks off and made a mockery of any suggestion that they dont have the legs. They had lots of legs today

Hojlund did well without really looking like scoring, Garnacho had some dangerous runs and set up Bruno's goal

Dalot took his goal very well

Heaven looked like he should be on the pitch and was solid. Last game he looked good defensively but he had 50% pass accuracy, this time he was way up there with 87% tidying up his distribution

Great games from Zirkzee and Dorgu! Heaven stepped up to the plate. Mazraoui a consummate professional once more. MotM has to still be Bruno though - to put away two cool penalties from the spot and ice it with a killer finish was a true captain's performance.

Everyone played well Zirkzee was excellent, has a wee bit of Berbatov about him but runs his heart out. Dorgu, Heaven, Casemiro all done great. Not much more you can say about Bruno!

ZZ was a monster tonight. His passing and dribbling was excellent.

The first 10 minutes felt like a competition amongst our players in giving the ball away. After their goal we really stepped it up and looked genuinely good across the pitch. And I still had the feeling we could be way better because we still made mistakes we were just way better at shutting anything from Sociedad down than we usually are.

Good response from a goal down, we had no option then to go for it. The players are feeling the pressure and our timid start had them running riot for 5 mins leading to a pen.

Good to see a lot of players trying to work hard for each during the match, you have to make it happen and Zirkzee Hojlund really stepped up. Bruno was brilliant without the goals.

Plenty of positives, especially some really nice interchanges throughout.

Bruno and Zirkzee the standouts, Dorgu, Hojlund and Garnacho all had good games. Casemiro had a mixed bag, but was important at times in the second. Genuinely think no one played badly to be honest.

Special mention for Heaven, looks really comfortable is always looking to play in a positive manner and forward thinking.

Was a great result after a shaky start, feeling really positive after tonight and the last couple of matches in general.

Zirkzee is definitely a number 10. Thought he had a great game. Some great passes, close control. Got to feel for Hojlund can’t fault his effort. The kid Heaven also did well. Dorgu 2nd half was excellent. Team looked a lot more balanced tonight. Play the kids in the league and focus on this competition.

God it's like when you've not had a shag in ages that. Doesn't matter how it comes it still feels bloody good.

Zirkzee growing so well into this team now, from that low point against Toon he's really shown some character. Dorgu giving us the energy we've been lacking, Garnacho passing, Rasmus looking a threat pretty much and a hat trick from our Captain. What's not to like about all that. Feels good for once.

Performances are trending upwards notably now, if the results can turn then we're heading into the end of the season in the right direction.

It is funny how Sociedad tried to test Heaven so many times in the first half. But not once did they manage to make him look stupid. I'm impressed that he played so solidly in his first game from the start.
