Genuinely don't understand how Obi can hold the ball up against EPL defenders and Højlund struggled. I don't think Obi lost one ball played into him and we should have used him more.

I cannot even begin to imagine how much time, money, personnel, and luck it is going to take to turn things around.

Jesus, it is grim. And I lived through Dave Sexton.

Keeping Eriksen on was such a bizarre choice. Two kids at the back and someone who can’t move in midfield was never gonna end well. Cunha looked shit though so we’ll almost certainly spend 63 mil on him.

As for Hojlund and Onana, what can you even say? If we have either one of them on the pitch at the start of next season then I’m gonna go live in a cave for the sake of my sanity

Really hope they've got something really clever lined up in terms of forward options next season. As even when we had Amad and Zirkzee fit we were properly lacking.

If our sole transfer is the Ipswich guy we could be in for a horrible next season too.
one or two competent forwards would do, if we fail to address the forward options during the summer, Amorim will be set up to fail. A competent forward and results will improve

For once there's very few who I'd say played badly. It was a decent performance just lacked finishers.

We have a platform to add attacking talent to now it's obvious.

Played ok but more proof that strikers have got to be our priority in the summer. Most important thing was to limit the minutes in the legs of our key players for Europa league semis.

How are they not getting booed off after that? Absolute shite! Felt like a pre season friendly. Shows how far standards have dropped that far we're saying the performance was decent!!! 2 shots on target all game....woeful. Don't worry though, we beat the 4th best team in France on Thursday so everything is ok. A car crash of a side. The bad thing is I'm not even surprised. Anyone who thinks we'll fluke another 3 games in Europe is delusional. I'm 47 and I'd score more goals than Hojlund.

Even a team fighting relegation wouldn't persist with a striker who's got 1 goal in 28 matches.

Hojlund needs dropped from the squad entirely, not just from the team.

Tbh I kinda enjoyed that, aside from the constant frustration of watching Hojlunds up top for us. Garnacho was very good, Fredricson and Amass were excellent, we controlled the game... Just couldn't finish the chances. But the exact type of performance where you can say "put a better CF up there and we win comfortably" as that's all that was missing today IMO. Just laughable how bad Hojlund is.
Completely agree

The much better team with all the best chances but they scored their only shot on target.

We just need better forwards.
It's basically the opposite of us in the days of Fergie, even after to some extent. We could be at par with the opponents but then our clear superiority in attack would win us the points. Now it's the opposite.

I know Wilcox was brought in to implement the Brighton model, but for the number 9 and the wide 10s, we need to be going for absolute top quality. Difference makers basically. One would think we absolutely outplayed every side when we were successful. Untrue, but we had the best forwards

Can I just say, Garnacho was great in the second half

Nothing new here.
No matter which team Amorim puts out, we just can’t take our chances, and we desperately need a striker.

We’ve put all our eggs in the EL basket, so there’s no point stressing over the PL. Just hoping some of the youngsters make the most of their opportunity.

Meh. Expected to lose beforehand but we didn't deserve to lose in reality. Saw the goal coming as soon that free kick was given away though.

We just can't score. And if you struggle to score, you need to create a shitload of chances to score goals, and we don't. And if you can't score, every goal conceded is akin to a disaster. Losing to a team's first shot on target is just typical of how this season has gone.

Because if he don't deliver people will turn on him within a couple of weeks and thats not fair to him considering he is 17.

No they won't if he doesn't perform he'll just have to work a bit harder to get back in the team. That's how it should be and it's a good lesson for them.

We just couldn't put the ball into the goal. We had chances to do so, especially those crosses in the first half. We just haven't got the focal point up front to put them away. A prime Van Persie would have won us the game today. Comfortably.

Desperate for us to move on from Hojlund now. He isn't and isn't going to be what we need.

Absolutely nailed it, I agree with your comment to a word.

Those on here complaining and whining every time they get half a sniff of a chance to cry about anything must lead such sad lives. If it really upsets you THAT much, you need to stay away...it is not healthy.

With almost no attacking power you are not winning games. I don’t expect anything.

Waste of time.. Either play the youth and rest your senior players and not care about the result, or play a full team and get the win.. Did neither, only a couple of youth players playing , most senior players played and we still lost the game.

Which team we haven't gifted double win over us this season? I think all team above us right now have gotten double win over us. Jfc.
On the other note, Amass will have a great future.

Toothless up front.
Gumless even!

Wolves have won 5 out of their last 5 games.
They’ll probably go above us next weekend, against Leicester.
If Spurs win tomorrow, we drop to 15th, just 2 points above WHU, who are shitter than shit, but WHU have a few winnable games ahead.

Unless we can get a couple of wins out of our last remaining fixtures, we are heading for a finish in 17th spot.
The bargain basement just above the relegation zone.

.

Typical United, playing at home and we can't even score. Can't wait for the season to end in order to ship Hoijund's ass out of United. What is the point of playing Hoijund. Might as well put Mount or Bruno to play a false 9.

Garnacho alone should have 3 assists. Those miss by Bruno, Mount and Hojlund are criminal. Dorgu also put in a few good crosses.

Hojlund refused to pass when Mainoo was clear through the goal.

The positive was we were the better team.

Insane amount of losses this season has been down to having a genuine Championship level striker and conference level keeper. The former was the reason we lost today. Will continue to happen unless these positions are upgraded.

You have to keep the senior lads involved to keep them ticking over. We need them match sharp for the semi final

Conceding goals might have something to do with it has well despite playing a back 5
If we score goals it puts less pressure on the defence as teams will be on the back foot and not attack us as much knowing that we have attackers capable of putting the ball in the net.

The fact that we don’t have such attackers means teams can take more risk and push up against us

We need to sell Hojlund, he is done at this level. Premier League clearly not his level. We keep losing games because no forward to convert chances.

Players also need to toughen up and go to the gym more. Physically we are not competing. That’s why we are a bit better in Europe. Weak.

Hoijlund did quite well in the hold up play today and set up a few attacking moves. Obi was no better or worse, but it was telling that we didn't give Obi one chance to have a shot.

Our creative players don't seem to gel well with a traditional nine.

Haven't watched or listened, just checked BBC live text occasionally

At least the Ipswich Arsenal result means United are today saved from relegation, but they can still finish 17th

Just wish he had brought Obi on a bit earlier to see what he could do. The better team lost today.
This team is crying out for a finisher. So wish Amad wasn’t injured.

Sorry, what does Onana have to do with today's result? You surely can't think he should have gotten to that free kick?

Good game for the youngsters, especially Amass but one thing's for sure this club is not going to change while the Glazer maggots and their debt are around.

Obi came on and his first involvment he just fecked the defender right off him and calmly laid the ball back onto his team mates.

Meanwhile Hojlund in those positions has his hands all over the defender, feeling him up like they're about to bust out into a tango.

Controlled the game from start to finish, wolves barely had a chance. One free kick won them the game.
Big Positives in the two left sided young defenders Frederickson and Amass both excellent. Hojlund needs replacing, hes not good enough.
We badly need a couple of forwards who can score goals.

How many goals did we concede this season from our own mistakes? it feels like a lot!
