Walkers new shaved head must make him more aerodynamic because that was a different level of pace compared to even his usual speedy heals.

That finish for Jesus as well, ridiculous and Rodri just Rolls Roycing it in the centre of the park.
The amount of times we're going to hear people say that this season just because it's what they expect a Pep signing to do without them actually doing it:rolleyes:
Been very average so far and shown on a few occasions he's not quite used to the pace or physicality of the league, which is to be expected in his first game.

Well, I think it's more on the manager's training and tactics. Klopp focuses on getting young attackers who are fast and have high stamina. The rest is the system working it's wonders. Take them out of the system, other than Firmino, Salah (and probably Mane), who are very good but not world class, the rest will revert to their average gameplay. Most of the players have average passing skills, average vision and on the ball skills. But, still they manage to score sh!tloads of goals, all thanks to Klopp.
If that were the case any manager should just study what Klopp does and do the same. Why don't they?

Most of the players i.e. the midfielders? Sure. They're above average at the things you mentioned, but not particularly special, and Klopp's work on the training ground certainly goes a long way towards improving them in that regard.

But the forwards, they're magicians. How many times per game do we see any one of them receive a bad pass and bring it under control perfectly with their first touch? That's their secret ultimately, that's what allows them to play at that tempo with that quality. Salah's first touch verges on sorcery at times. All three are world class players, anybody claiming otherwise has never seen them play

That's incredibly harsh on Lukaku.

There's only 1 year between Lukaku and Haller and yet the Belgian has scored more than double the goals (and the majoroty of Hallers goals were in the Frnech second division or the Dutch league).
Haller would have made the same impact if he had the same break as Lukaku did.

Lukaku looked like a man at the age of 14 playing against the under 16s and received major hype when he was playing for the senior team as a 16 years old.

If Lukaku never got bought from Chelsea I doubt he would have the career he has for such a limited player.

Yeah he doesn't look anything special at all. People with the hyperbole after watching him struggle for 40 minutes :houllier:

Absolutely spot on. Lukaku has relied on his physicality and athleticism to score the goals he has, and hence he'll always be a very limited player who is exposed against the top class opposition. Haller looks like the more complete package and has so much more to his game.

What's Rice doing still wearing 41? He's been an established first team player for over a season now, give him a proper number.

Absolutely. Fernandinho still the better choice by far.

You can't present a team in a such bad condition, West Ham is shameful, like Norwich yesterday

It's too early and those types of midfielders always take a bit to get used to the league, but it was the same shit with Jorginho. First few games people were hyping him up because he did well in a different league and because the managers at the time and the interest in the summer, was doing a lot of simple passes but they were ignoring them actually getting caught on the ball, getting out-muscled and not actually playing very well. Jorginho essentially did the same stuff all season and at the beginning they called him "brilliant", and by the end he was a waste of space and massively overrated.

Rodri far more Fernando than a Fernandinho so far, but again, very early and it's to be expected.

Rodri should've been booked but I guess we're in for another season of City getting away with tactical fouls.

Surely that foul by Rodri should be a yellow? He’s got no intention of getting the ball.

This is a joke. They stop every counter by fouling.

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.

He was farting about in the French second division and Holland for 6 years scoring about 1 in 3, that's why he "didn't have the same break".

Lukaku is a far better player and goals, trophies, transfer fees and clubs played for all make that very clear.

Haller won't score 15 league goals this season (something Lukaku was doing for the likes of West Brom and Everton).
