This is cut and pasted (and slightly edited) from a poster on the SU Forum. There are some real questions to be asked there, and I encourage those of you who are in the UK to contact the Sports Minister or your PM to ask for the answers to these questions.

And before some of you come in and say this is an attempt to destroy MUFC, this isn't about MUFC, it's about governmental transparency and putting pressure on the Glazers to be more definite about their plans. The public have a right to know what all those assurances were to the government, and what caused the Sports Minister and others to come out and praise the Glazers yesterday. The goal isn't to get United in trouble, it's to make Caborn and others tell us what went on.

What on earth was a government minister doing taking a meeting with a company that is currently under review by the Office of Fair Trading and then coming out publicly talking about said company and its owners in such glowing terms?

Words such as "impropriety" and "prejudicial" suddenly pop into my mind. Even terms such as "judicial review". Set aside football. If this happened in ANY INDUSTRY, eyebrows would quite rightly be raised.

Given the circumstances, Caborn has some tough questions to answer.
1. Who asked for the meeting?
2. Given the circumstances, why did the minister agree to it at this time?
3. Was the OFT review discussed? And what did both sides say?
4. Are the Glazer family now (or in future) Labour Party donors?
5. Would the minister release the FULL MINUTES of his meeting in the interests of full disclosure prior to the OFT reporting?
6. Does the minister have any meetings planned with the OFT himself at which the Glazer acquisition of Manchester United will be discussed?
7. Does the minister acknowledge that he has made a serious error of judgement and should therefore 'consider his position'?

Be sure to be polite, and tell him what constituency you are from. This makes it more dificult for his staff to simply ignore you. If you a beligerent, they will chalk you up as a nutter and move on.
