Well, I said there must be someone hiding somewhere in Germany. Have to admit, never paid much attention to this guy but all the PR is good! At least he’s likely to have a plan and know about tactics...

So what do we think then? Either it will be announced Monday to take away the story after a probable Chelsea loss. Or, considering it’s a work permit and people probably don’t work the weekends on it, it’s gonna be some time next week and he’ll probably miss the Arsenal game. I have a sinking feeling that’s gonna be the case. These things always seem to drag out longer than we expect. And with Brexit, even longer.
Thanks, I thought it was agreed with Lokomotiv a couple days ago from reports. That sort of sucks because if he hasnt got a work permit sorted, do we assume hes not in Manchester?

We obviously have no clue as fans but would have been ideal to see him take the first training session after todays game.
I have no idea about how long a work permit takes and my understanding is that he isn't in England but I could be wrong.

If we want to go back to winning anything of note, hard work is the only option. Pep, Tuchel and Klopp are just as obsessed. It is the ceiling now. We tried with a relaxed approach, but as seen, it doesn't work. I'd suggest to any player that doesn't want to put the work in to request a transfer.
Yeah couldn't agree more, if they aren't prepared to put in the hard yards ship out

If I was him before I agreed i'd have demanded they sanction the funds for a MF in January. Not Declan Rice type money it would cost but someone like Denis Zakaria. Zakaria could come at a reasonable fee given his contract ends this summer.

Probably tomorrow. Not sure who he's bringing but it's been reported that he's bringing in a couple of trusted assistants.
Russian sources say his number 2 Kornetka is staying at Lokomotiv, however they also said Ralf wasn't leaving either so take with pinch of salt

Love that story about him requesting the training ground camera footage though. That’s awesome if true and I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. He could probably do a better job coaching on Zoom than our previous coaching has done over the last months.

Yeah I was hoping the McDonnell was wrong about him not being here until Palace, however looking very likely that could well be the case.

Former Bayern technical director Reschke offered insight into the 63-year-old.

"Ralf will expect his staff to work 18 hours a day at Manchester United. Or maybe 17 because even he recognises they have a right to sleep," Reschke told .....

I know he spent that many hours with his coaching staff but i think he might spend atleast 5/6 hours a day with players....Wondering if any of our players will warm to all his hard working training methods of 6 to 7 long hours
Not going to happen when we've got a game every 3 days for the next month or so.

Funny how all of a sudden ex players are talking about trophies again… heard Evra and now Rooney talking about winning trophies. Can only imagine what Scholes is going to say.

A few weeks ago the benchmark were things like “reset the culture” “improved the mood” “ended the toxicity” how do you even measure those things?
Surely the benchmark over the next 6 months to judge Ralf by is to see an improvement in football, a style of play, players developing etc and team chemistry improving…

Agree. After the Arsenal game we have in theory a few easier games. But it’s never gonna be easy to train new methods when you’ve got a game every few days. Can’t expect miracles. But I do think we have the players to do it. If only we had a younger matic we’d be well set in my opinion.

I think that some of them will love it, the ones that had their best moments under similar managers. Basically Martial, Lindelof, Pogba, Matic, Fred, Bruno Fernandes, Shaw and I'm probably missing some. These players played and thrives under the likes of Jorge Jesus, Lucescu, Allegri, Jardim, Pochettino and Conte. It's something that didn't cross my mind until this week but it must have been strange for some of them to join a club where Mourinho had already drastically reduced intensity in training and were then Managed by Ole.

 Ralfie has one hell of the job after years of under-coaching. Some of our players better start shoring up their PR teams. How these double sessions are disturbing their previously comfortable lives.
Doubt the players had comfortable lives.

It certainly makes a change from the sympathy porn dished out during our abject performances when it was leaked the coaching staff and Ole were working so hard it was to the detriment of their personal lives. Rangnick - like other elite coaches - knows that's just a given and nothing to moan about, let alone milking sympathy. It'll inspire the players as well.

Fecking hell.

Lindelof and Bailly are weak as feck in this game.

Together with the useless Maguire....and our ever present Jones...

I think we need 4 CBs replacements come summer.

Goodness me.

Can I help in anyway to speed the process of his arrival? We aren't beating Arsenal like this.

They are mentally weak most importantly.

If anyone needed any more evidence that our current coaching staff need to all be thrown out on on their ear this match is surely it.

Awful first match for Rangnick this. Should've given Ole a fair shot at steadying the ship instead.

We are trying to keep it tight but Chelsea extra man guarantees them possession in our half because of it. It’s the formation fecking us imo.
Watching with a neutral here and he’s claiming it’s been a shit game.

Notice how fast Chelsea win the ball back versus Utd because they press. It's how they have 70% possession. Utd stand still when Chelsea get the ball, they defend like a mid/lower table team. They run back to form a low block instead of trying to press in 2-3s to force a wayward pass and turnover in midfield like Chelsea. When you press high, you can start attacking nearer to the goal. Chelsea could be 2 goals up but their attack really isn't firing on all cylinders.

Utd rely on individual defensive actions of their expensive backline but not cohesive organisation and teamwork to press as a unit to defend. If Rangnick is watching he will be quite annoyed to realise the scale of the task, it's not easy to implement pressing schemes in the middle of a season without a break. At BVB Klopp needed a full preseason, when he first arrived at LFC it took time to implement his system as well. Rangnick isn't as good a coach as Klopp who's more possession-oriented so Utd fans can expect early Klopp results but worse, imo.
