My Order of Dutch United Players over the Years based on Impact:
1 - Edwin Van Der Sar - Won 4 Premier League Titles, 1 Champions League, 1 FIFA Club World Cup and a League Cup during his 6 years. He was Mr Reliable at United and formed part of the nucleus of the spine of United's formidable team of the late 2000's especially when he was 40 when he retired. If only we got him when he was younger as he is definitely the 2nd greatest keeper after The Great Dane during Sir Alex's tenor at the club and cemented his name in history with that penalty save that secured us our 3rd European Cup/Champions League.
2. Jaap Stam - Treble Winner, 3 Premier League Titles including 1 FA Cup and Champions League - 3 and a bit years at the club and was the rock in the defence that conquered not just Europe but also the premier league too. Like Sir Alex said that Stam shouldn't have been let go and we probably would have seen the best of him in a defence that lasted a decade if he hadn't been sold.
3. Ruud Van Nistelrooy - One of the greatest goal scorers in our history, pity that he ended up leaving the way he did but with 150 goals in 219 games left a legacy hard to fulfil. Left with a Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup. Ruud showed what passion, heart and fire was during his stint with the club although short his legacy will always be remembered.
4. Robin Van Persie - Although he was the man who delivered our 20th and last league title in Sir Alex's final year in charge, the reason I put him 4th is that after Sir Alex left he was ruined under Moyes and Van Gaal. He didn't have that passion he did whilst playing for Sir Alex, but still that Free Kick against the Bitters and the Hat Trick that secured us the 20th Title will secure his legacy for all time. It is just a pity we didn't see another season of Robin with Sir Alex as you could tell he knew how to get the best out of him.
5. Daley Blind - Mr Versatile when at United, played where ever he was needed and never complained. Always gave his all and ended his United career with an FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League. Not bad especially during our poorest times since Pre Sir Alex at the club and was greatly undervalued at United, I always thought they let him go too soon.
6. Raimond Van Der Gouw - United's very reliable number 2 who never complained being in the Great Dane's shadow, spent 6 years at United and won 2 Premier Leagues, FA Cup and a Champions League. Not bad for a number 2 probably should have been given more of a chance after The Great Dane left.
7. Alexander Buttner - So much potential that Sir Alex seen in him but he just couldn't fulfil what Sir Alex saw in him, spent 2 season's at United but did end up with a Premier League Title. I still think he could have gave so much more.
8. Jordi Cruyff - the son of the legendary dutch man, came to United with so much on his shoulders, but injuries and other factors cost him what could have been a decent career with us, spent 4 seasons at United but left with a Premier League title won in 96-97 season.
9. Timo Fosu-Mensah - Still too early to decide what his imprint will be with our club, still has so much potential and been unlucky with injuries. Bonus is he is still young and has an FA Cup and Europa League under his belt.
10. Arnold Muhren - Won an FA Cup with us after his transfer from Ipswich Town, didn't see the player he was but gave his all every game during the 80s and will always be remembered as the 1st Dutch Man of United.
11. Memphis Depay - Probably someone I really hyped up after watching him in the dutch league, but his attitude cost him what could have been a good career with us.
12. Tatith Chong - Still very early on in his career, not being able to bring his U21 Form to the 1st Team, gone on loan to get 1st team experience and hope he comes back a better more confident player and he still has so much potential.
