NOt sure a romaing playmaker is what we need at all personally. Isnt that really what Eriksen, Fernandes and Fred all are....none of them, and we could include McTominay to that are very sound defensively, there has been evidence of that both when Casemeiro has been missing and also against soem of the better sides when our midfield has often been totally over ran. Beyond an ageing Eriksen we also have a couple of excellent youngsters can possibly fill places in the squad in that regard in Hannibal and Iqbal
Persoanlly think we need an all rounder that is technically good all round both positionally, defensively and offensively. And I think there are loads of options untouchable, unlikely to come, expensive and decent value from Camavinga who I so wanted last summer, Bellingham, DeJOng, Barella, Caceido, Rice, Kpbempe Thuram, Caqueret.
Personally dont see the first three coming at all, the middle three are all too expensive....I think either of the last two would be really good signings.
If we are looking for a roaming playmaker, he hasnt set the world alight in hsi debut signing as a record signing.....but Mattheus Nunes at Wolves would bring something different to that tole to what we have.
Personally wouldnt sign Sabitzer even though value due to his age and I think we need to get rid of McTominay and Van de Beek and with Mainoo, Iqbal and Hannibal all good enough for the squad, with Fernandes, Fred, Casemeiro and Eriksen all available, I only think we need to sign one midfielder (lots of people feel two)....but for me again, definately an all rounder that could also possibly play the role you seem to favour as Fernandes isnt gettign yougner and has looked good playing deeper
