RONALDINHO XI v Shevchenko XI

Heinze isn't there I don't think. Good job, there hasn't been a single tackle all game, Heinze would come on and tw@ them all :smirk:

Decent to watch, Ronaldinho is without a doubt the greatest player in the world.

Yep him and Lampard have both not been included in the teams, probably been withdrawn by their clubs.

He's just THE greatest. Absolute top class player, Chelsea will do well to contain him next week... before they buy him in the summer :nervous:

There's more to football than tricks and fancy chips.
I'm not saying he's not a great player, he's brilliant, but he's not THE greatest...

Probably true.

They’ll just have to settle with Gerrard ;)

I'm sure I'll get over it, especially when the £30mill+ cheque lands into the club's coffers.

He's not just about that though, it may be part of his game, but he works hard on the pitch, he's professional, respectful, and above all, commited to being the best he can be.

If he carries on playing and improving like he has since he joined Barca, he won't be far off that tag at the end of his career.

Agree, hence why I said he is a brilliant player, but he's young and has time before he's the world's greatest etc...
And more to the point, I certainly don't think any player can be deemed "world's best" on account of a charity match.

That's fair enough Crembo. Don't forget he's World Player of the Year though.

By the way Beasley from PSV is playing.

That Kameni bloke looks quite good, we're supposed to be tracking him.

Have not heard much about this Kameni nor seen him play, but he turns 21 on Friday. Do you think SAF would entrust a 21 year old in net? And perhaps most importantly, can this person speak English?

Wasn't half your side that age a few years ago? Seem to remember a certain scotsman coming unstuck with a comment about kids and your club.

If Fergie can entrust the future of your club with kids, I'm sure he won't think twice about playing a young lad in goal. If you're good enough, you're old enough.

I'm thinking being a 21 year old keeper is much more pressure than being a 21 year old striker or midfielder or winger or fullback or central defender.

I do agree that if you are good enough, you will play. But I'm also doubting SAF is going to take on another young keeper that is unproven, if he decides to sign a keeper this summer. I figure he'll look for a veteran who has proven himself for years. Someone maybe between the ages of 27-34.

Fair point, if you look at the best keepers around though, they were all chucked in at the deep end as youngsters and have just blossomed. Look at Casillas, Madrid no.1 at 17. Buffon was only 18 when he made his debut for Parma too.

You could understand him signing him and then having him as back up for a season or two whilst he learns about your club and the league etc. though.

 @ the supporters doing the wave during a Tsunami releif match.

2nd half was very boring, I liked the first half with Zidane and Ronaldinho, and even Shevchenko

Gerrard didnt play well in defence and it didnt look like he was enjoying it there either

Good goals though

I got a bit sick of the camera cutting to the crowd every few seconds just to see them jump up and wave like complete idiots

Didnt watch much of it as was playing football myself, but what i did see was 22 players jogging up and down the pitch, it was just a training match. Watching Ronaldinho was fun tho somt he trcks he do are amazing.

Yes, it is a waste of time.

They are all multi-millionaires, why don't they just stick their hands in their fecking pockets like everyone else does, instead of fecking around playing what is, in truth, a very gay and pointless football match?

You have a point their Weaste, but they are doing it for fame.

Well its not really their fault is it?

Well there are people who have genorously gave more.

I for one gave more than 3 months wages and I ain't a footballer.

But saying that I knew people there that made me put the extra.

How about yourself, have you contributed?

Well I stand by that, after looking at there background an all I think it should of been more, if they have already participated in the donations in the past then my word doesn't really count.
