Bernie had no credible chance in 2020, bowing out pretty early to endorse Biden in early 2020 iirc. His lack of chance wasn't due to the media. There's far more of a beef to be had with how the DNC & the media undortunately torpedoed his campaign in 2016.
the mainstream media had a bias against Sanders the entire time, it didn't just happen in 2016 and then stop

I think he took them by surprise a little bit in 2016

No doubt on 2016 unfortunately, he was never a bother in 2020 (nor should he have been).

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
I'd say he had a chance until the DNC rallied around Biden. Bernie won Iowa (with Buttigieg), New Hampshire and Nevada, and at that point Buttigieg semed perhaps more realistic than Biden due to how poorly Biden performed in the first three states. Then Biden crushed South Carolina and Buttigieg and Klobuchar dropped out and endorsed him, and that was that. You could say that was inevitable, but I seem to remember it being very much up in the air how well Biden would actually do in South Carolina.

I prefer the on-screen hippie Brand chatting up flange left, right and centre and taking the piss out of Big Brother contestants than this right-wing leaning conspiracy theorist nut-job. tbh

Insulted the post, not you.

Along with the others pointing out how incorrect you were with that statement, one only needs to look at the debacle Fox finds itself right now to realize what their overriding MO is & how it has been intentionally cultivated over the years.
People who try to conflate two opposing agents do so in order to make "their agent" not seem so bad. That is exactly what @Tarrou is doing. MSNBC is definitely biased however they do report the facts and news. Fox actively was involved in government policy under Trump and perpetuated the myth that an election was stolen.

Its funny how they took the opposite side when Bush was accused of stealing both of his wins.
Fox is an arm of the right wing within the United States and do Murdoch and the Koch brothers bidding.
The difference between them and an actual news station in MSNBC is like night and day.

CNN is definitely biased. The two US networks stand out from British/Irish news channels in having such an obviously biased agenda (although they all have agendas) It’s bordering on pantomime. Fox is worse though. More extreme.
Which direction do you think CNN is biased in ?

I don't think he is left or right leaning. He criticises left and right leaning news outlets.

Either way, he is pretty annoying.

Yeah. I'm referring to how it was reported as primarily a horse-dewormer to discredit people. Claiming that Fox were telling people to take a horse-dewormer which obviously wasn't the case.
Wasn't that begause MAGAs were buying the livestock deworming variant en masse because they didn't need prescriptions for it?

This meanders between vaguely sensible to pointless gibberish. Obviously, an after the fact attempt to quickly explain and monetize his nonsense during the Maher appearance.

I once admired Russell Brand. But his grim trajectory shows us where politics is heading - George Monbiot

Glad there is a journalist finally picking up on this. The left to right grifter pipeline is something that has been going on under the radar for a few years now
This seems to happen to quite a few popular podcasters. They get so compartmentalized into their own narratives, that they lose track of the forrest from the trees.

Very pro corporate-friendly democrat with a penchant for Romney like Republicans. They talk shit about democratic socialists and ultra nationalist types in equal measure. Bias toward the status quo - particularly the military and intelligence agencies who are treated as unchallengeable.

Ah feck, I’m so disappointed with this. There was a brief window when I thought he’d be a genuine positive by reaching a (admittedly small) part of the electorate.

Loads of podcasters/commentators drift further to the more extreme right. It's a self perpetuating process, by being more extreme they get more views, get more praise from that viewer base, growth their profile and income, and so they play into it further and further, usually with a level of self-deception mixed with outright grifting. Disappointed with Russell, he had no need for a small increase in his viewership or income as he's already financially set and had the necessary status to not need to pander. I wonder whether he genuinely believes in his new narrative and has come to that conclusion independently, or if he's shifted his narrative because he's networking/making deals with certain lobbyists/financiers/powerful people. A lot of the right wing podcasters give the impression that they're independent but they're backed by billionaires or groups with political agendas. You can see why he'd be a great political tool to use given his status and flamboyant verbosity.

I hope that in time he will shift back towards the centre or left, and bring with him some of the right wing crowd to a more centrist or left wing position.
