I agree that Mascherano doesn't need upgrading by Joga, certainly not as a matter of urgency.

I am comfortable with Mascherano in that role going forward. It's clearly defined, plays to his strengths, and his pedigree at the job hasn't been bettered in many a year.

Same here. As said, he is an upgradeable player considering it's an all-time pool, but he is in his element and wouldn't be one to be overawed facing all-time GOATs.
