Must win game against the worst side ever in PL.

Could be good game to get Rashford to find confidence as he should score vs these.

    ------------------Onana
    Dalot-Maguire-Evans-Reguilon
    ----------------Amrabat
    Antony-Mount--Hannibal-Garnacho
    -----------------Hojlund

Amrabat can play in this position alone, I think Casemiro can't really do it.
We can rest Varane for this game.
    Eriksen to replace Hannibal.
    Martial to replace Garnacho
    Rashord to replace Antony

Where does Bruno fit? I don't know.

I hope that Martial gets at least 45 minutes.

Sheffield haven't win yet in the league and if they'll do something against us I'll lose my mind!
Wouldn't be the first time. Remember in the 2021 season, Sheffield United were rock-bottom and had not won away from Bramall Lane all season; in comes us with the chance to go top of the table and we managed to lose 2-1...

Still remember few seasons ago when they were absolutely gash and rooted to the bottom of the table... then proceeded to beat us at OT.

Can't even rest easy against this lot :annoyed:

    Making some fitness assumptions, here.

    ----------------------------Højlund----------------------------
    Garnacho------------------------------------------Antony
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------Bruno------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------Amrabat-------Mejbri-------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Reguilon------------------------------------------------Dalot
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    -------------------Lindelof------Varane---------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------Onana-------------------------------

-Rashford and Casemiro need to be sat down.
-Bruno and Mount should not be on the field at the same time.
-Antony is our most dangerous RW and he shouldn't be sat down just because ETH won't concede that Bruno and Mount shouldn't be on the field together.
This would be very brave of ETH unfortunately i don’t think he is. Honestly, given the current form of players this should be our strongest and most dynamic line up

    Given internationals, I'm thinking:

    Onana
    Dalot Maguire Lindelof Reguilon
    Amrabat Mount
    Antony Bruno Rashford
    Martial

Probably some rotation between this game and the midweek vs Copenhagen given City is the following weekend. Mount and Antony won't travel during the break so I'd bet they start here. Garnacho and Casemiro play Tuesday/Wednesday in south America so I don't think they'll start. Martial have a feeling will start as hojlund can't be overplayed too soon, but is a cert to start vs Copenhagen. Also think Eriksen starts midweek. McTominay is due more game time, maybe not a start here but probably one of the next 2 games. Fullbacks are only ones fit hopefully, centerbacks I'm guessing Varane will be injured so easy pick there. Not sure what to do at GK, hopefully he figures it out I guess?

Anybody counting on Onana, Casemiro, Bruno and Rashford being dropped haven’t been paying attention and are about to be disappointed. Onana aside they are our most consistent and reliable performers (anvailability wise) and very important to ten hags team.

Agreed. Bankers don't seem to be a thing anymore with this team.

Do we start Rashford or Garnacho? McT or Mount? Bruno or Eriksen? I would like to see Mount, Amrabat, and Bruno.
I would like to see Amrabat - Hannibal/Mainoo - Mount midfield. Rashford probably deserves to be benched to be sent a message.

    Some very interesting line-up's here...lol.

I don't know.. we have a limited squad. Needs ETH to get the v best out of this bunch.

Obviously, it's a massive game. Sheff Utd are where they are for a reason. I hope we can get the job done. If not, then ETH has big problems.

    A battle, and I sense a score-draw tbh

Buzzing that the proper footy is back this weekend!! Hope we turn a corner. Theirs no excuses to not be scoring 3+ against this pile of shite. They’re a shambles.

    Very nearly won at Spurs.

Obviously we should beat them, but they've had their moments.

Newcastle putting 8 past them as made me think anyone can. Obviously Newcastle are a good side but we lack goals at the minute and I feel this is the perfect game to get some confidence in the attack and score plenty.

Hard to forget it. Opening Sheffield United goal had a hint of a foul on Degea then Man United had a goal disallowed for a simliar foul on their keeper.

The Sheffield United winner must be a record for the amount of errors in the lead up and the finish a deflection.

Resting easy in matches is a distant memory.

I like this line up, based purely on form too. Both Hannibal and Mount can track back bit the only thing that worries me about that midfield is a midfielder who can pick the pass which breaks the defensive line. We should expect 10 or 11 men behind the ball with 8 or 9 in or just outside the box. Erikson would be an option instead of Antony, shift Mount to the right and have Erikson in AMC. Unfortunately we will see the usual line up,
    De Gea
    Dalot maguire lindeloff Reguilon
    Casa Mount
    Bruno
    Antony hojlund rashford

3 or 4 in that team do not deserve to start and should earn there way back.

Trying to work how we are going to make this lot look like a good side. OK, I don't expect eight like Newcastle (we barely score than many in a month) but anything other than a stroll will be just another disgrace in a long list of disgraces

If we don’t win this after only just beating Brentford with two goals in injury time it will just show how much that result has papered over some huge cracks. This needs to be a win simple.

My patience is wearing a little thin with the manager at this point so these are the games he needs to get us maximum points. With the likes of Newcastle and City on the horizon there are more losses incoming. This can’t be one of them regardless of injuries etc.

The player and manager need to earn their wages for once.

Still our best XI, of those available. Or on RW we don't actually know, but it's worth trying.

Rashford does not need to be sat down. And I think I'd worry about passing and ball retention with that midfield.

    Onono
    Dalot Maguire Evans Reguillon
    Mejbri Bruno
    Eriksen
    Mount Hojlund Rash

Would have preferred Amrabat but no way he's recovering in time if he missed a WC qualifier a few days before.

Need some legs and combativeness in midfield and Mejbri can provide that as he did v Burnley. Casemiro will be coming back from South America (another yellow last night) and needs benching as he has been shite this season.

Bruno will need to be more disciplined in this system stay centrally and hold his position.

This is a perfect game for Evans and Maguire to form a partnership. Think this game suits their skillset better. No problem with Varane starting either obviously but who knows. Lindelof needs to be punished with a benching.

Goalkeeper is in last chance saloon, any more feck ups and has to be replaced.
Rashford gets the nod over Garnacho but he's skating on thin ice.

Mount also has flexibility to roam into midfield when out of possession, his energy is crucial to getting the result we need. Eriksen needs to play more with his compatriot and can be the key to unlock the opposition defence.

Will be a tough game but a must win, obviously.

    So fitness wise, questionable are:
    • Varane
    • Amrabat
    • Casemiro
    • Mainoo
    • Reguillon?
    • Hojlund if anything from that San Marino game (maybe worth just resting him for this one)
    Out are:
    • Malacia
    • Shaw
    • Wan Bissaka
    • Amad
    • Martinez
So I'm gonna assume Mainoo is fine for bench, reguillon fine for start given no options, and that Hojlund just gets rested for the next 2 games. Maybe we see something like this. Eriksen and McTominay duo as we need a physical player if no case or amrabat, and in that case Eriksen at least can be useful in possession next to McTominay for deep buildup while Mount can't really do that role.

    Onana
    Dalot Maguire Lindelof Reguilon
    McTominay Eriksen
    Antony Bruno Rashford
    Martial
Edit: never mind seems amrabat and casemiro are both fine. Toss them both in here then. Or just amrabat and give Case a rest before City, but put Mount next to Amrabat

Guess it depends on fitness others. Bruno always plays, I hate the idea of not having an actual RW and LW out there so I want a firm stop on Bruno or Mount or whatever on the right.

So it's pick 2 others for the midfield 3 from Casemiro, Amrabat, Mount, McTominay, Eriksen, Mainoo, Hannibal.... If the first 2 aren't available then you really can't play mount deep. If amrabat is fine then Mount can probably work. Also option of Bruno deep and Mount 10, but he needs an in form casemiro next to him and not sure if Amrabat next to Bruno can work as the deep pair. Casemiro suspended for the CL game so either he only is back vs City or he plays both league games.
