It won't cover the entirety but I imagine we'd get offers of around £50m. Are we saying Grealish will go for around £90m?Maybe (s)he was laughing at the idea of getting enough money from a Pogba sale to cover a Grealish purchase.

I'm pretty sure your original reaction to those laughing smileys was correct; I was just trying to offer an alternative. It won't cover the entirety but I imagine we'd get offers of around £50m. Are we saying Grealish will go for around £90m?
In terms of number of excuses people are willing to make for him, absolutely.Dare I say Ole is the managerial form of Pogba. Anyways don't want to derail the thread
Fully agreed. It was a naive and awful decision but he was also sold lies by Woodward and promised a top team would be built around him with a top manager. I understand his frustration. Why have you omitted all those trophies he won with Juve, where he was the most important player and carried them to a CL final as well? No doubt going to win at least a dozen more trophies after he leaves too.

Being realistic with how long he had left on his contract and his performances over the last couple of seasons, I'd consider it a success if we got £35-£40m for him in the summer. Anybody on here thinking we'll be getting more for a mediocre player with a season left on his contract is kidding themselves. Personally, I see him sitting out that last year and going for free the season after as i don't think anybody would be willing to pay £35m for him when you factor in he'll be free to negotiate a free in the following January and will want massive wages. Our chance to flog him for a good fee disappeared with the last window. Our strategy must be built around Bruno, who is about the only consistent and dedicated player. Fred + McTom are the only pairing the bring the best out of Bruno. I am not writing Pogba off, but his playing style, as well as heart, seem to be incompatible with Bruno. So only remaining question is, how much.
This post just shows how bad our fans currently rate him And how much we want him goneBut the thing is if he starts performing again everyone will want him to stay.
Been many months since I saw Zakaria's name on a team sheet. When is he due back from injury?Sell Pogba.. buy Denis Zakaria.. That would make a first choice midfield 3 of... Zakaria... Fred... Fernandes... Thus it would leave... Matic... McTominay... van de Beek as cover.
You're probably right. I was factoring in his new contract with that estimation but who knows nowadays! I reckon he signed that deal with the agreement that he'll be allowed to leave for a reasonable sum, though. I can't imagine he'll be happy if they price him out of a move and trap him using his contract. I think (hope?) it was a 'stay another year, we'll double your wage and you can leave next year' sort of arrangement. Him and Bruno would be too much to fecking handle!!I'm pretty sure your original reaction to those laughing smileys was correct; I was just trying to offer an alternative.
Also, now that Grealish has signed that new contract, I think they'd ask for more than that. sadfaceemoji:
Soumare is another who I would like to see hereSell Pogba.. buy Denis Zakaria.. That would make a first choice midfield 3 of... Zakaria... Fred... Fernandes... Thus it would leave... Matic... McTominay... van de Beek as cover.
Juventus(who`ve wanted to bring Pogba back for a while and still do) as it stands are selling Dybala in the summer which frees up ridiculous wages and from the looks of it they are likely to spend 45m on Morata who was even more mediocre at Atletico than Pogba has been for us. We may not view him the same way but other teams will see him as a very marketable player, world cup winner and top class midfielder on his day. 35-40m even with just a year left is too small reckon Utd can get closer to 50m if they really drive a hard bargainBeing realistic with how long he had left on his contract and his performances over the last couple of seasons, I'd consider it a success if we got £35-£40m for him in the summer. All good mateGlad I made you laugh.
You forget when Pogba was our top goalscorer as a Midfielder. He is an extremely talented player, the problem lays with our Defence and DM, especially our defence, they aren't good enough and require too much protection. Pogba doesn't have the displine to play just in front of the defence, but going forward he is outstanding at times. As G.Neville says ' We need Pogba in the opposition's box, not our own '.Am I missing something here? Everything @el3mel said is true. Pogba has been here four years, was our biggest signing ever and still finds himself on the bench. It clearly hasn't gone as planned.
Do you think Pogba would be as effective if we swapped him with Bruno? Gave him the necessary support behind him that he needs? No, is the answer. He hasn't been able to do it consistently since we signed him. Someone has come in and is doing a better job than him He's done here, whether you like it or not.All good mate
Grealish isn't an upgrade on Pogba thou and doesn't answer all the questions.

Pogba versus the manager isn't a thing. It doesn't exist. Ole never says anything other than great things about him. He isn't being picked because he isn't performing, and we usually look better when he doesn't start. Simple as that.My expectation now is that at least one of Pogba or Solskjaer will be gone by the Summer, if not both.
Pogba might stay if we have a new manager, the player will win this time.
We have tried to accomodate him everywhere. Any formation, you name it. And he still is inconsistent. All good mate

That doesn't really change anything that I said though, does it?Pogba versus the manager isn't a thing. It doesn't exist. Ole never says anything other than great things about him. He isn't being picked because he isn't performing, and we usually look better when he doesn't start. Simple as that.
The bolded bit is absaloute nonsense. Mourhino was the manager when he was signed, the bolded bit suggests Ed promised him we would sack Jose and bring in a better manager if he signed. Pogba was happy to sign with Jose as manager and with the players we had. That's just yet another one of the many excuses we re so sick and tired of hearing.Fully agreed. It was a naive and awful decision but he was also sold lies by Woodward and promised a top team would be built around him with a top manager ok I understand his frustration.
not only was he the star of the Juventus team at 23 but the whole team was built around him and they even gave him their sacred number 10 shirt in his final year, he ended by top assisting the league and leaving with two trophies. The Juventus director is still talking nearly every day in the media about his return and without a global pandemic they were ready to bring him back. The big gap he left has still not been replaced.
And then he carried a average United team to the EL trophy while scoring in the final and was named the player of the touament- still the only relevant trophy United have won after Ferguson left.
Not to forget his last full season he was named into the Premier League team of the season playing in the 6th best team and registered the best attacking metrics in England for a midfielders in his favored postion to add to his 3 inclusions in the team of the year in Italy. And of course there is no real need to mention his stellar exploits with the NT..
When pepple say he has underachieved it means at the level of GOAT midfielders, not normal ones
You are definitely trolling at this point. I don't think I've come across posts or opinions from anyone as comical as yourself. I don't think you even watch him play to be honest. To be so far up a players ass should embarrassing for you.Why have you omitted all those trophies he won with Juve, where he was the most important player and carried them to a CL final as well? No doubt going to win at least a dozen more trophies after he leaves too.
Far in the future, people won't question Paul's credentials because his heroics in Serie A and his leadership in French NT speak for themselves... They'll only question his naive decision to spend his prime with mediocre United side.
Why? Because I thought anyone reading this thread would have had the basic common sense to understand it was focused on Paul's time at Man Utd.Why have you omitted all those trophies he won with Juve, where he was the most important player and carried them to a CL final as well? No doubt going to win at least a dozen more trophies after he leaves too.

Fifty-eight billion caf points for correct spelling/usage of 're-signed'.The guy was on an upward trajectory when he re-signed for us. But winning the WC must have halted his desire to improve. He could’ve been class but to me it doesn’t looked likes he’s worked on his game since 2016. He’s regressed and has been a massive flop. Average, inconsistent, wasteful, glimpses of brilliance and one, yes one, world class performance for us and it wasn’t even a full match (45 mins v’s City).
It’s a shame as he had all the potential, the vision, the skill, the power, the drive, all of it. But he didn’t have that certain thing the French call, oh, I don’t know what, that the top, world class players have to better themselves over and over. He reached the pinnacle of trophies in 2016 but plateaued and has not bettered himself one iota in four years and he’ll be remembered in years to come not for the player he was but for the off the pitch stuff and haircuts which is sad really.
Should’ve sold him 2 or 3 years ago as I can’t see any club paying top whack for a player that’s getting worse by the week. Cut our losses, get him off the books and make him another team’s problem - they and their fans can give him every excuse in the World for four more years.
