Lingard shit show incoming. I really do hope it's the last we see of him after this season...Jones can follow him out the door also.

Lingard to be involved vs Norwich
“Jesse has come back from the lockdown with a smile on his feet, loads of energy, last week he fell ill but we’ve done all the tests and he’ll be involved against Norwich now and kick on.

Jesse has scored vital goals for us and been a vital player, let’s see what the future will hold, he’s looking sharp and focused.”

:(
Oh bloody hell. Just, just when i was starting to think "Maybe i was wrong about Ole" he says all this.

On his last chance. If He plays like shit then that's it. Ole would have more than enough reasons not to play him any further.
He might play better with no crowd. Less pressure and all that. I have to think the way his form dropped off a cliff there has to be a mental element to it.

He'll still be sold.

'Sir Alex difficult to emulate'
“The run of titles we won under Sir Alex isn’t gonna be easy for anyone to emulate or copy. Sir Alex was a master of staying at the top, our challenge is to make sure we don’t go 26 years until the next time we win it or more, we’re gonna do everything we can to shorten the distance or go past them.”
 BOOM!

What would you have him say? Even if he has no intention of keeping him for next year, he still needs to try and sell him at a decent price and to do that he needs to play him the odd time and say the right things.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
By this time, we should know Ole will always say good positive things about.. almost anything really, unless he flipped out which is very rare.

I recall only 4 times now:
  1. RVP can have his 20 shirt.
  2. Lingard, "once again and you're f-off!"
  3. Pogba and "his people" (aka his agents and cycle of supporters) <-- I think it's months after the series of "wanting new challenge" comment.
  4. City basically play "dirty football" last season.
  5. Were there more?

His involvment against Norwich is hopefully just the warm-up......we need him maybe for another screamer at Wembley.

If we want to sell him then we will have to play him, at least in some matches. Hope he does well and then fetch us some real bobs.

Bellingham will be brought in to replace Lingard next season.
Lingard will be doing his annoying moves elsewhere.

Oles persistance with lingard shows that he really doesn't have the ruthless nature of a klopp or pep to get to the top

And his delusions that the FA cup is still a big thing also highlights that fact ,its sad to say but top four is more important to any club these days than a FA cup medal.

Ole is stuck in the past while football moves forward

What the hell are you on about?

So if we put out a shit team tonight and get knocked out that'll prove to you that Ole is a forward thinking manager?

That's just not true. Lingard has made 20 appearance this season, with 11 of them being subs. He's a good squad player to have, albeit he needs to being scoring/creating more chances if he wants to get more games.
It's also not as easy as just just getting rid of a player though, and I imagine he'll be gone when his contract is nearly up. Also, no clubs are going to fork out for his wages, especially after Covid.

I disagree about the importance of the FA cup though. I know that top 4 is important, but I think you've forgotten the joys of winning a cup.
The FA cup may not be as glorious or interesting as it was in past years, but it's still prestigious and should be treated as such. Winning it would be a brilliant feat.
A cup win would also ease the blow of seeing our rivals win the premier league.

At some point, you have to play Lingard to garner any interest from potential buyer.
