You just don’t want to get it, right? We have some very technical and skillful (but lazy players). There were stats posted here which showed how for example all of the other big teams’ forwards in the PL work harder than ours’.Literally says getting the team to run is what he's 'most proud of as manager' and then ends with "our physicality is always good. How we run, sprint, that is our secret, more than tactics. Our spirit."
Words of a pashun merchant if I ever saw one.
On the other hand Ole himself as a player at United played with some great intelligent and / or skilled players, but most of the time they were still prepared to do the dirty work.
You can have the most technical team but if they are not prepared to work hard or “run” you won’t achieve anything.
If tactics and skills weren’t important for Ole, then he wouldn’t be playing or buying a lot of players he has for us since he has been managing us. He keeps playing Pogba for example despite his weaknesses as he realizes what he brings to the team and tries to balance it out with McFred. Same with Bruno against the bigger teams. He has never removed Pogba or Martial/Rashford from the team when they were playing well, just because they don’t run enough.
Instead he played James at times to balance it out.
However he can hardly ask James to be more technical. But he can ask the others to run more or work harder.
