Okay but he's still very good on the right, better than anything we have and better than most "specialist right wingers". Haven't watched Chiesa play so don't know about him. Still hope we can get Sancho but if that's impossible I would like us to go for someone like Bergwijn or maybe Chiesa if he's as good as you say.
Why does people think Sancho will come?! We are badly run club so why would any promising player wants play with Utd.

Because we're still Manchester United. We didn't become Rochdale overnight just because we haven't won a league in 7 years. Liverpool still managed to attract big names when they were shit due to their name, as will we but it will just cost us more in wages.

Wanted Bergwijn at United. Technically very good. Can spot a pass and is good in tight spaces.
He's not good in tight spaces. He uses speed and acceleration. May be an upgrade on James but not much better. Also likes playing on the left and we have Rashford and Martial already doing that. A player good in tight spaces is Zyech

He’s played left, right, up top and as ACM equally this season.

Seems like more the type of player Poch would bring in than Mourinho, Levy has remembered who the current manager is hasn't he?

Terrible move for him. Not going to play much and not good enough for the PL anyway.

Not going to pretend I know that much about him so all I can say is that I wish him well and hope he turns out good.

Great signing for Spurs. Can score and assist. Understands tactics and a very intelligent player(great vision, movement and positioning). Very creative, can create out of nowhere.

He seems to have what it takes to become a very good player, but he seems to lack some attitude from the little I've seen from him.

Totally bizarre from the club and the player. When does he play? In FA cup matches? Moura, Son, Lamela all ahead of him, Sessegnon is no slouch either in wide attacking areas. You would imagine the main trio in rotation for the wide spots. Spurs cannot be seriously thinking they are going to play Son or Moura up top for the rest of the season and then bring in this guy to play on the wing? I guess if one of those three get injured he will see game time, a big if though.

Im always puzzled when clubs bring in players they don't need whilst ignoring glaring deficiencies in their squad. For Spurs I would say move heaven and earth for a backup striker and RB. Every time I see Aurier I think is he going to a: give the ball away or b: get a red card. Attacking wide players, not really needed. Like midfielders, I lose track of how many of them Spurs have now, 6, 7? Dier, Wanyama, Winks, Sissoko, Fernandes, Skipp, Lo Celso, Ndombele, im probably missing someone.

Mourinho will have him playing wing back trying to man mark Robertson next season. Mark my words.

He can play CF, left, right and ACM we only have Son, Sessegnon and Lucas playing wide and Kane injured. We have lost Eriksen, Sissoko is out for the season, Wanyama is crocked.

Were still in the CL, FA cup and in with a chance of top 4, we need options. Lets wait and see how he goes.

In the Eredivisie, yes. Play him ACM or CF in the PL and he will get destroyed.

He is no where near a Jose style CF, even if he has played there a little. Ok ACM, you still have Alli and Lo Celso for the ACM role, both above Bergwijn in the pecking order. Can't Lamela also play ACM?

Sissoko, Wanyama are more in the 2 role in the 4-2-3-1. Bergwijn I imagine further forward.

You have no-one, nothing for backup striker. And at RB is Aurier who could well be plying his trade in the Championship and no one would bat an eye lid as that is his level I feel. Granted I do not watch Spurs week in week out but I doubt he has somehow transitioned into a top 4 level RB over the last month.

We are in for Piatek apparently.

He averages 3.8 unsuccessful touches a game in Holland. Only Joelinton has more than that in the PL, could be a bit of a horror show if things start to go wrong.
Again he could do but we will just have to wait and see, I honestly have no idea how he will do but certainly we need players who are fast and direct.

5 goals and 10 assists in 16 league games is a decent return, still only 22.
Not sure how much you know about the Dutch league. Van Bommel played a counter attacking style. This allowed his quick forwards a lot of freedom. In Holland only two teams matter PSV and AJAX and somtimes an outsider This year AZ.
If he had 10 assists and 5 goals playing for any sub topper ( Utrecht, Willem 2, Heereveen etc, ) then I would be impressed

Not much to be honest I know it’s dominated by 2 teams mostly , so he’s shit then? You seemed to rate him in your last post?

In terms of fast-paced, attacking wide players we only really have two: Son and Moura.
Lamela does not fall into this category and Sessegnon is probably being groomed for the left wing-back slot.

So at best that's one fast player for either attacking flank (and even this assumes that either Son or Moura don'tneed to play centrally in Kane's absence). One player for each flank is not enough to cover all games in all competitions - it allows no room for injuries, loss of form, suspensions or need to rest.

RB? We already have Tanganga as an alternative to Aurier.

Striker? The window hasn't closed yet.

Very good signing imo. I think the reason so many doubt him is because of the lessons learned from getting excited by every fast, winger, who had a few tricks about 10-15 years ago, only for them to be pretty average (ie Babel, Lennon, Walcott etc). But Bergwijn is different, as he doesn't need the ball played in front of him and he's got good touch and he can pick as pass. Whilst speed and trickery are key parts of his game, he's also a good footballer, so unlike many youngsters who get massively over hyped due to their physical attributes, Bergwijn actually has the scope to get better and develop at the highest level.

I rated him him above Lozano whom everyone in the caf thought we should buy. Dont get me wrong. I thinks he's a good player but not one i think we need. We have enough players who play in the position he does.
If we are looking at young Dutch players 2 stand out for me
Ihatteren at PSV and Badou at AZ

What about Stengs?

Stengs is a good player and he might make the jump to a higher level. In many ways similar to Chong. I think if Chong were playing in Holland he would get the same attention as Stengs. It is question if they can make that step up.

Thanks to all the Dutch posters giving their views on the player - I don't know much about him at all and there appears to be mixed views on here but it's reassuring that most of the people who watch the Dutch league regularly appear to rate him.
