Many people? I don't see that anywhere. In fact I see more people, including Chelsea "fans" ridiculing our transfer activities about selling our "best players" to rival and how we are going to struggle to move from 12th to 10th this season. I've not heard a single pundit slating us for a solid top 4 position and certainly won't make many's usual top 4 predictions before the league starts.Depends how you define flop compared to expectations.
Rice is average, Havertz is average so Arsenal seem to have downgraded.
Many people expecting Poch to get Chelsea into top 4/5 - this I very much doubt - so I'll go with Poch and give myself a bonus if they finish in the Europa Conference League place in the PL.
I hate to say it, and I don't think that it will be totally accurate, buti can imagine all of our new signings thus far being called flops all season. Mount isn't exciting so unless we're doing amazingly well, he'll be called a flop. Onana every time he takes a risk that doesn't pay off will be called a flop and compared to the retrospectively perfect De Gea. Finally every time Hojlund isn't Haaland or makes the slightest mistake that any 20 year old who's new to the league might make, he'll be labelled a flop.
I just hope they'll be able to take the heat, because the knives are already being sharpened.
What is a flop? Havertz is an expensive transfer for Arsenal. If he produces the same performance as he did with Chelsea, he is overpriced, but his performance is not unexpected. Same for Rice.To be considered a flop you have to disappoint expectations. Do people really expect something from Havertz and why is that?
Pochettino
Tonali. Has been poor in pre season apparently and clearly doesn’t want to be there.
Must not have been watching chelsea pre season game. They are the only top team in the premier league that has been playing like a top football team and not struggling. Moreover, this is without even making any big signings yet.
On topic, I will say Arsenal. I would have said Manchester united, but we bought well this summer. I see us exceeding expectation this season. On the other hand, Arsenal has bought poorly with regards to squad balancing issues. Brighton and Newcastle may also not be as competitive and Spurs may also struggle.
Just because he's Italian doesn't mean he doesn't want to be playing outside of Italy and will join the long list of Italian PL flops.
No interest in watching Chelsea, pre season or otherwise.
Poch will be gone by Christmas.

If you watch, you would wish we would have gotten Pochettino over ten hag. The work he has done there in the short amount of time is remarkable. He has not only fixed their attacking, but their defense and they are playing as a cohesive unit in pre season so far. Of course pre season is different, than a competitive league match, but if those performances can transfer over to the league, there is more chance that pep will be gone before Pochettino. Of course things are not perfect yet and these young players need time to develop and mature, but things has looked positive so far
The famously parsimonious Todd Boehly project...Must not have been watching chelsea pre season game. They are the only top team in the premier league that has been playing like a top football team and not struggling. Moreover, this is without even making any big signings yet.
if they watched Chelsea in preseason, they would have wished we got Pochettino over ten Hag? What? Absolute headcase.

I really don't see where many are expecting Pochetino to make top 4. Most Chelsea fans themselves aren't even expecting it.
He didn't want to leave though. Milan forced him out because they needed money. There was a clip of him being shown around the training ground and he says it was bigger in Milan

That's definitely wumming
Rice isn't the one that has to justify itRice will never be able to justify the price tag but the media will make sure to protect him and arteta.
Van Dijk
Mount
Maddison
Darwin Nunez
Dubravka
Mark Flekken (Could be a catastrophe for Brentford's season)
Havertz

TBH I think Mount will turn out to be one of our most important players this coming season, there's a reason EtH made him a priorityNot sure on Mount tbh. More on defined role in team.
If you play him as an 8 I don't think he has Eriksen's vision to play quick forward passes, number 10 isn't much of an option as that nullifies Fernandes and so out wide and he'll probably do o.k but no more than that.
He has cost 60m and is an established top level player these days so think reality will fall a bit short of expectation with him.

Van Dijk is already done.
He won’t recover anything like his best form which was protected by a lot of legs in midfield.
He’ll continue the passive backing off and letting players past him.
He’ll have to do exceedingly poorly to fail to meet some very low expectations.
Mount - perhaps, hope he doesn’t clash with Bruno’s positions but I think he’ll do ok.
I think his role will vary on whom we're playing, I suspect he and Bruno will switch roles frequentlyCentrally or out wide in a Park style role?
