In form he was one of the best keepers in the world. It's a pity he got injured when he joined Barcelona as he could have gone on to do great things with them.

Lopez can play as a striker as well as a left or right forward so gives me more options. Pires can only really play as a wide left playmaker or possibly a 10; he was useless on the right

Talking of surprise goal keeper picks, surprised @2mufc0 didn't go for Zoff.
Kahn isn't too shabby.
Of course not. But expected him to pick Zoff.
Was torn between him and Maier. I rate them about the same but Maier with Beckenbauer pairing was a no brainer.
Zoff of course a fantastic keeper and one of the best no doubt, but imo Kahn belongs to that top elite level and i rate him up there with Yashin. But all subjective, can understand if some don't agree with that.
Jeez... there are so many strong teams.
Kahn is definitely one of GOAT keepers. I also like the combination of Kahn, Kohler and Matthäus. I think you made the right decision.

He can but I like the idea of nedved controlling the whole of the rw with gentile tucking in while cabrini does the same with boniek roaming from the lw.
Like this but with nedved for bettega.
I'm sure that you know that "left winger" in zona mista was more of a forward, while the right one was more restricted to his side, and moving Boniek left worked so well because he was free to chase Platini's long balls upfront.
While in my 4-2-3-1 those RW/LW roles are tactically similar and the interchange between Nedved and Boniek is also implied. Aesthetically it looks better with them interchanged though, I'll give you that
Yeah, I was thinking of more of a Juve 1982-85 formation like the one posted above, however that can work just as well though but I feel it doesnt get the best of scirea.
He's frees them from more of their defensive duties though. Like we can sit nice and compact and then when we break they have got the insurance behind them in Makelele to not have to worry too much.
Gets Di Stefano closer to goal which is never a bad thing.
Remember we're supposed to keep the lineup critiques until the match threads lads. Not that anything overboard has been said so far, but it defeats the purpose if a manager has already been told how the voters want him to set up.
