I can't say I understand all this two snakes in four phases stuff, but it looks like a crap deal for someone in the middle.

The guys on either end get a first pick and only wait 16 picks before doing a double pick. By the time phase 2 kicks in they should be out of sight as far as foundations for a strong and coherent theme go.

You'd realise it would even out fairly as the draft proceeds

Tough to explain every position, but take the 8th or 9th position. They get to make 2 picks before anyone else (after 16 picks) . The top and bottom have to wait for 32 picks before they can make their second pick.

Diminishing returns the further you go down the picks, as in the quality gap becomes smaller, so the reordering has less of an impact. Fair effort in trying a new approach though.

Not that I’m complaining stuck in no-man’s land here - welcome the chase as Bill Struth once said.

Yeah deffo the guys in the middle are in big disadvantage, especially since the first top 4 picks are blocked in reinforcements.

there’s no big advantage in later rounds as most of the top guys are gone.
