Gaming The Outer Worlds | 25th October release date

At a heavy discount definitely worth it. Cool setting, great writing and sense of humor, very limited exploration, boring and easy gunplay.

It's a solid if not spectacular rpg. I liked it a lot and you can really rely on your companions abilities. Some cool world design and interesting themes. Just kinda ended a bit suddenly, quite a short campaign.

Gets a bit samey though.
It's like a bare bones Fallout.

From what I remember, there are around 8 weapons, no grenades and about 5 armor pieces

I was disappointed with the game. When it 1st arrived people said it was Fallout with less jankiness. But I didn’t enjoy it anywhere nears as much as any of the fallouts

Had absolutely no idea a sequel to this was even in production, then bam, it was released this week.

Anyone played it? I really liked the first game.

Played about 5 hours. Would recommend. Subscribed to gamepass to get it for about 18 dollars. So far worth it.

From what I've heard they've built on the first one. A lot more choice and better writing/gunplay.

Nothing mindblowing but sounds decent. Standard Obsidian. Will get it on sale when it's closer to £30.

Did not play the first but will definitely try this.
From what I've seen it resembles with Borderlands but with more RPG elements? Is that true?
It's not really a looter shooter like Borderlands but it'll be that similar quirky humour with RPG elements yeah. Definitely more RPG than Borderlands is.

It's more like Fallout but in space. I haven't played Fallout to know for sure but it gives those vibes.

I've only done the intro so I'm not far in and it hasn't caught me yet, but the last one didn't either until I'd played a bit more of it.

Yeah that's the way. I've only got it cause I have Gamepass, otherwise I'd be waiting for it to be dirt cheap in a Steam sale.

I'm about five hours in and only just starting to get out of the first hub town to do the quests from there. So far I'm enjoying it, but maybe not as much as Avowed.

Thanks, will try it looks interesting.

Obsidian did Fallout New Vegas which is considered the best one.

I liked the first when I played it but couldn’t tell you a single thing about it now. Enjoyable but forgettable seems to be the Obsidian way now. This does look a lot better but not a hope I’m paying €80 for it. Mental.

If you've got a an xbox or a pc that can run it you can get for 17 dollars on gamepass. Did that. Well worth the money. A straight 8/10 game so far

I liked Avowed too but I found the ending underwhelming, and would like to have been able to continue playing in the world after the final boss. It took me a while to warm to Avowed as well, though.

Watched a 30 min gameplay stream of this last night. Looked pretty fun, though the combat looked generic.

Yeah that's fair, a lot of it is setting for me, I'm not as big into sci-fi as I am Fantasy worlds. The Outer Worlds gets a lot of its charm for the parody of ultra capitalism and other stuff, and effective parody is harder to do in a fantasy setting I guess.

I just really liked Avowed, though it never had a character as strong as Parvati. I'll play through this though as there's not a lot else I'm looking to play for the next couple of months.

Did Gamepass for a couple days to check it out. Played enough to verify that it feels like a good, Obsidian style game. I'll grab it on sale or gamepass for a month and play it at some point in the future.

Could use a performance patch to iron out some issues with shadows.

Yeah I'm big into action RPGs at the moment. Dragon Age Veilguard plays a lot like Avowed did, if you haven't played that and want your fantasy fix. It also became available on Game Pass relatively recently.

Pavarti is about all I remember from Outer Worlds to be honest, and the ending.

About 10 hours in now and quite enjoying this, the only problem is my memory is so bad I can't remember the story beats apart from go and get
De Vries
.

Doing my best to play it blind and not save scum to undo choices. I took the Easily Distracted Flaw, which has locked me into 5 skills to upgrade really and that's actually kind of fun to work around, my only regret was not having Science skills or perks because I really want to read some of those logs my stupid character doesn't understand.

After talking to some people I just couldn't
sabotage the ARC
, I kinda liked some of the characters there.

For what it is im enjoying a lot more than Starfield. Graphics are gorgeous on my pc as well. 4k everything on max. It seems like a shorter game for its genre though.

Excuse me, MS assured me that Starfield would be one of the most important RPGs of all time.

Completed it today. Actually much enjoyed it. Fallout in space indeed. 8/10.

I'm about 30 hours in and it still feels like I have a fair way to go.

I can't stop listening to the Grand Plan Wireless radio station. The songs on that are absolutely brilliant, and the spoken word stuff is really tranquil.
