I know he's not exactly known for making reputable cinema but he almost always comes through at the box office, just has that mass appeal.
That being said I think The Rock is genuinely a good movie by Michael Bay and is still watchable almost 30 years later. With that being the case, you could say Michael Bay is classic Hollywood cinema. Nicholas Cage being a Nicholas Cage lead. Connery being a misogynistic asshole James Bond guy. Ed Harris as a villain that you still like. Great casting that.
I say we make a Caf movie hall of Fame with The Rock being the inaugural film.
