Hopefully gripping your pillow tightI'll watch this with one eye open
Yeah, but don't think they can use John Constantine as when they develop this, there's still a version of him in Legends of Tomorrow.Yes. But I'm already not happy that they took John Constantine out
Once again I hope its good...
They could. They simply consolidated the roles to give it all to Joanna because they were going to be casting her anyway and it gives her more to doYeah, but don't think they can use John Constantine as when they develop this, there's still a version of him in Legends of Tomorrow.
And who knows what kind of restrictions DC/WB got on him especially with the Discovery merger.
Reviews has been great though. Looking forward to it
From what I've read, there is some issue with John Constantine related to a JJ Abrams project for DC's Dark Universe. They could. They simply consolidated the roles to give it all to Joanna because they were going to be casting her anyway and it gives her more to do
Which to me is a bad thing as hes my favourite comics character. I can see why as a business you would make that choice, but in terms of entertainment I disagree with it
From what I recall of reading the actual series years ago, John Constantine doesn’t have a large part to play in the series…? Or was he actually meant to be in this show to begin with.Yes. But I'm already not happy that they took John Constantine out

He has a small part in the beginning as they were hoping to interest readers of Constantine in the new comic, so it was for popularity reasonsFrom what I recall of reading the actual series years ago, John Constantine doesn’t have a large part to play in the series…? As you mentioned earlier, they merged the characters into 1.Went through 2 episodes and was yet to find a character I was pulling for. And then... Episode 3 and a massacre of the John Constantine origin story. Oh boy
I hate her, shes like a female pg version with a babyface backstory instead of the guilty John Constantine. She reminds me of Will Smith Deadshot, which was the family man with a child that he was in new 52 instead of the guy who accidently shot his own brother so he never misses, and who's dangerous life got his child killed. And of course it was an excuse for some diversity casting like here.Like it so far. Production value is excellent. It's clear that they spent money on this.

As for Constantine, I never really like him in live action adaptation so far, but I think she's the closest they got in terms of characterization. My favorite version of Constantine is the loner who fecks up every life he touches. It never sit right with me that DC and WB and make him part of a team
Sandman is precious to me. I bought them as they came out when I was a teenager...I'm half way through and it's wonderful, I agree.I'm biased as I'm a huge comic book nerd who loved the original and practically worships Neil Gaiman as a deity.....
But it's brilliant
I couldn't disagree more. The first onscreen Constantine that seems anything like the comic character. And they pronounce the name correctly.I hate her, shes like a female pg version with a babyface backstory instead of the guilty John Constantine. I'm 3 episodes in and its been made clear that she isnt the ancestor Joanna Constantine from the comics as Dream has said he knew a Constantine from the past and didnt recognise her. She's just genderbent PG Constantine so far
Shes nothing like the comics, he's a grimy gutter mageI couldn't disagree more. The first onscreen Constantine that seems anything like the comic character. And they pronounce the name correctly.
No idea. I'm on ep 7 now and nothing I've seen warrants that but having said that I'm desensitised to pretty much everything and have no idea how ratings are judged.I'm going into it blind with zero knowledge about the character/story.
Why is it rated 18? Scary or gory or just a few naughty bits? Just out of interest
Are you suggesting that this a CG fest lacking substance? It's got the feel of the comic, which was not easy to pull off. The one shots episode was particularly evocative of the original.I'm struggling however one thing I can say for sure is it has some cool special effects. So if thats all you really want, it certainly has that
No just bored with the story and characters. Are you suggesting that this a CG fest lacking substance? It's got the feel of the comic, which was not easy to pull off. The one shots episode was particularly evocative of the original.
Graphic self-harm is probably an automatic 18+. There’s maybe some other stuff like people humping but nothing wild in that regard.I'm going into it blind with zero knowledge about the character/story.

As for a general review, it is worth a view. I’m also going in blind, and as far as that goes regarding jumping into a new fantasy world I’d rate it a level above some recent stuff like Wheel of Time.
Fair enough. It's the story from the comics that I've always loved and it's been well adapted but if it's not your thing then it's not your thing. No just bored with the story and characters.
