I think we are not allowed to pick players who played together at all. What he meant in OP is that it doesn't matter if they were on the same court at the same time, being on a roster together at some point is enough to rule out them being picked by the same user.

But you cannot pick him at all, from what I understand. See:
  • Players you pick must not have played together in any NBA league or playoff game. All Star games, Internationals, Olympics etc don't count. Just being part of the same roster is enough to count as "played together".

My understanding was that he's based on the no mate rule from football drafts, where you can pick players but they cannot be fielded in matches together.

I can repick if Skizzo says otherwise.

It's not similar to a football game where playing subs is optional - all 10 of your men will get minutes in a given game. The entire 10 man roster is the match playing squad.

Maybe if he plays an 8 man rotation it can count?
 
Not really in the spirit of things is it? Do feel a bit bad if you hadn't realized though. We would have taken Payton if we didn't have Shaq.
