Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands

Also, the map is huge and looks to be very varied - different terrains etc (have only seen 3 regions out of 21 I think in total).

I flew to two other regions. One I flew into some kind of zone with SAM missiles that I narrowly avoided, the other I flew right at a Unidad helicopter over a dam, which I only saw late, almost as I collided with it. Fecked quickly off back to the easy zone

Did coop for the first time with a mate. Good fun. Really satisfying when you both snipe a different target at the same time. Funny when it all goes tits up too.

But I've come out of it, and now there isn't any story missions showing up for me. I'm sure there was one before that. No exclamation mark missions to find intel to unlock story missions either.

Epic in with a friend. He has done most of itacua main missions already, so I'm just doing side missions and skill points now which works well for me, I'll fly through the missions after the beta.

Think there is decent improvements to be fair. Playing watchdogs 2 at same time, and driving is similar in that - no major issues from me

Majority of the weapons seem to not be as good as the first AR and sniper combo. Even the later stuff that's not unlocked yet, looking at the ratings.

Definitely can't see this having the longevity of The Division. I don't really feel that desire to advance through the story, or even the upgrade my equipment. They need a PvP extension here to add playability,

I think they could've done the upgrades better. And the character customisation, which wasn't as great as it was made out to be.

Enjoying the gameplay side, but having a hard time getting into the story. Feel like they threw so much out so early, I never really got to grips with it all, which is a shame, as it's kind of putting a dampener on doing the missions as it all feels a bit pointless without knowing why I'm doing what I'm doing

so its been almost 3weeks since release. how is everyone finding it? I've enjoyed it for the most part

Moaned a lot, but had lots of fun

Quite repetitive, but countered that last night by fannying around with my mate, having a destruction derby, both getting in separate helicopters and flying into a base like some kind of Vietnam scene (which ended up with us eventually colliding and crash landing in it). Also fecked up one we were taking seriously by missing a shot, which ended with full Unidad patrol out after grenade launching their first helis, my mate escaping on a motocross bike and me in a helicopter, with about 6 helis chasing us firing missiles. That was pretty epic.

I'm enjoying it I must say. Definitely not the addiction I had with The Division, but once I pick up a controller I do play it for a few hours. The slower pace suits me currently, plod along doing missions one night and then doing all the side missions/skill points etc, the other night. I'm actually clearing areas similar to the division, clearing everything I can before moving on.

Day 1 weapons still the best though. Playing mostly solo after playing initially with a friend.

I'm enjoying it to. The side missions can be a bit repetitive but aside from that it's definetly worth getting.

I'm liking the Submachine gun SR-635. Changed from the assault rifle. It does spray a bit more even the the accuracy is rated as better than an assault rifle, but it's penetration is very good - and if you tap the trigger as apprised to holding when firing you can negative the spraying anyway.

Using it a lot against the unidad heavy patrol and the drop fairly quick.

I haven't tried the SMGs really - currently have the MSR sniper and the TAR-21 assault rifle - really like them both.

How does this game work? Is this online only, or is there offline element to it? Can you play this alone and just go through numerous missions with NPCs or are you always playing with other players? I'm tempted by it as my pick up and play shooter for the next 2-3 months but fear this will go in the same bin as The Division for me i.e. way too complicated in terms of loot and character building and needing too much time to enjoy properly.

You can go alone with 3 NPCs, I'm sure it's online only

And how complex it is in terms of grasping what you have to do etc.? Can you randomly select missions and just have fun for 30-60 minutes, or do you have to actually get involved, follow the story and upgrade your character all the time?

There is a main mission to follow, but there is nothing stopping you from jumping in a helicopter and flying around from area to area doing the side missions

I actually picked these up last night when clearing Montuyoc. Was the last place I had to do so I could then go capture El Muro. The MSR sniper is ace alright, unreal from long range as damage is pretty damn high - plus I have steady aim maxed and the long range perk. Extended mag for it and it would be sweet. Tar is good actually, similar to SR-635 but definitely less of a sprayer. Penetration is better against Unidad too. I enjoy working the outside of enemy areas and then working my way in, especially the more difficult areas where vast majority are compounds.

I'm turning into swooshboy....

Completed the storyline last night and watched both endings. Enjoyed it, but a bit long in the tooth to get to the ending with all the Bouchons and all that, and it was fairly repetitive in the end. But it still had that pick up and play feeling about it. I just have to complete the last few rebel missions to max our their assistance, and collect the remaining weapons and a few more skill points. I'll tip away at that before the new missions roll out next week.

There's new missions?! I doubt I'll even get through these ones. It's still fun but does get repetitive, specially when you're playing it 'seriously' and take a similar approach every time like you mentioned above.

Ya, 15 new missions if you have season pass/expansion pack called Narco Road - and new weekly challenges.

New missions coming soon:

FACE THE DEADLIEST CHALLENGE IN FALLEN GHOSTS
05/15/2017 09:00 AM

The Ghosts are special forces prepared to face any conflict, no matter how challenging it is. They have successfully torn apart the powerful Santa Blanca Cartel, turning their organization into little more than ashes, but now they will have to face the greatest challenge they ever experienced: a combat situation with a ruthless enemy who pursues them without hesitation.

Welcome to Fallen Ghosts. This expansion, featuring new missions, weapons, skills, and enemies, will be available on May 30 for the season pass owners, and on June 6 for individual purchase.

Run, fight, hide: test your skills against an unforgiving enemy

After the fall of the Santa Blanca Cartel, Unidad’s military force is unable to contain the chaos created by the Ghosts. Santa Blanca’s disorganized members search for revenge and the rebels are trying to take back control of cocaine production. In order to help restore order in the country, Unidad enlists the most dangerous volunteers, disgraced ex-military special operations and ex-cartel members from various Latin-American countries, giving birth to a unit specializing in the most brutal operations: Los Extranjeros.

Before leaving the country for good, the Ghosts have one last mission: they need to evacuate the last CIA members and American civilians remaining in the country. On their way in, their chopper is shot down and they crash in the middle of the jungle. They are now chased by enemies better equipped and stronger than them…so they will need to play smart if they want to survive.

New bosses, missions, and challenges

The new Fallen Ghosts campaign features 15 new missions in which you will face four new bosses located in three different regions. As with the main game, you have total freedom of choice in the way you complete the missions, either by controlling your AI squad alone or by joining up to three other players in co-op.

The new missions will test your combat skills and the coordination with your team: you will have to eliminate lieutenants, defend civilians, and extract VIPs, all to work your way through to the heads of each region. In addition to the main missions, Fallen Ghosts will also incorporate new side missions scattered around the map. If you complete all the missions of a specific type, you can unlock a final activity that grants you exclusive prizes upon completion.

But these are not the only changes: for those of you who love a good challenge, the Advanced and Expert difficulties have been tweaked to offer a greater challenge. Turn off the HUD and immerse yourself in the most extreme tactical experience you can experience in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands.

New deadly enemies: Los Extranjeros

During the events of Fallen Ghosts, your squad will be pursued by Los Extranjeros. Operating under the government protection gave them access to the latest combat technology so, for the first time, the Ghosts will not be the ones equipped with the most advanced tools.

You will have to deal with four new types of enemies and each one of them will require a different approach. Armored enemies wear heavy bulletproof vests and will be hard to kill in close combat; Elite Snipers have a wide detection range and unbeatable aiming skills; the Jammers have an interference antenna equipped on their backpacks that disables all your electronic gadgets; and finally, the Covert Ops will test your detection capabilities with their advanced optical camouflages and their silent but lethal crossbows. They are implacable, and they will push the Ghosts to their limits.

New weapons and skills

Luckily, the Ghosts will have some resources to face this new threat. Fallen Ghosts includes 25 weapons, including six new exclusive ones, featuring assault rifles, sniper rifles, and even a crossbow that can be equipped with explosive arrows. Additionally, you will also be able to get more than 10 exclusive legendary versions.

New set of skills and extra level cap

You start Fallen Ghosts with a new level 30 character with all of the main game skills already active. However, to help you fight this new deadly enemy, you’ll be able to teach your ghost some new skills. To unlock them, the level cap will be raised to level 35. Here are some examples of skills you’ll be able to use, with more of them coming in the final release:

- Drone Updates: The best friend of the Ghosts is now updated with even more tactical options.

- Flash Drone: Transform your drone into a mobile flashbang grenade that will repeatedly trigger blinding flashes.

- Attack Drone: Attach a small-caliber shooting device to your drone to transform it into a lethal flying weapon.

- Drone Vengeance: Equip it with an explosive payload that will activate automatically when shot down by an enemy.

- Physical Skills: Tracked and hunted down, you’ll be forced to unleash your inner Ghost and improve your reflexes to survive.

- Oxygen: Improve your ability to swim underwater for a longer time. Stay undetected and find new stealthy ways to attack your enemy.

- Reaction Marking: Improve your senses and tag every enemy shooting at you.

- Weapons Skills:

- Explosive bolt: Equip your new crossbow with explosive bolts. More deadly, less silent.

- Fast Reload: Increase your dexterity and reload your weapons faster.

For those of you who mastered the campaign, Fallen Ghosts should test your tactical and combat skills to the limit, either solo or with friends. We really hope you will be up to the challenge, Ghosts, because Los Extranjeros will show no mercy.
Liking the crossbow!

I haven't played this game in about 3-4 weeks. Not sure whether I will again in truth.

It's a good game but just too repetitive for my liking.

I've been back and forth over the last week or 2 trying to do a region in like an hour or so each time. It's been disappointing after so much promise

I'm enjoying this and I'm only playing solo, I love the kingslayer files and videos. Actually one of the more enjoyable story modes in a game like this, sets stuff up quite nicely.

Can understand people getting bored of the gameplay though, I think it would be pretty sweet if my mates ever bothered to play anything but FIFA.

Finally picked it up as was on offer in sainsburys for £30. Played the beta which was ok, but held off getting it as I had Horizon to finish and just knew it would be cheaper if I waited. Just not got much play time as got an assignment due in on Sunday for my PGDip.

Just picked this up for £15 at Asda and they've just released a Predator mission, which looks great (well not the actual fight by the looks of things).

Good game, specially with a mate. Didn't finish it because it gets repetitive, but there's loads of fun to have before you get to that point.

Completed this the other day. Can be very repetitive as others have said but is a great game to jump in and play for an hour or two whenever you feel like it.

I used to love the Ghost Recon/Clancy games but I never finished The Division - not much of a multiplayer gamer and I didn’t like the fact you could shoot people in the head multiple times and they wouldn’t die but it was decent enough. For £15, I’ll get some value out of it.
