if we do get FDJ over the line and one more attacker, can easily see ronnie staying and it being spun as he's had a change of heart due to the transfer business, the ETH project etc etc.

Ahh the great cyclical and patent pending caf freak out about transfers, were reality is but a suggestion and discarded instantly for a fiction of your own creation.

We've past the "just sign them, whatever the cost" phase and jaunt into the "we took to long and wasted the money" era with great glee.

How does this have the hallmarks of Fabregas?

That Summer;
Chase a target, amongst several , to no avail all summer before ultimately overpaying for a deadline day Fellaini. We also got zero money that summer from sales.

This Summer;
We have sold a player, bought 1 with 2 more all but done and a third, admittedly the primary target, that is dragging on but is effectively done bar the player deciding to forgo due wages from Barcelona. A solid 48 days before deadline day.

It only has "the fingerprints" in the same way, it has fingerprints, like we all do, they don't match that summers fingerprints at all.

Di Maria, is a little closer to what possibly could happen, but he was largely alright till he got injured, we then started playing him out of position and his house got robbed and it all went off the rails.
I’m sure all that contributed but he’s said himself that the main reason he left was because of LVG

Can't pay money that they don't have. Unless it's for a new signing, in which case you can say the magic word i.e. Levers and money appears.

Maybe Frenkie has gotten the bug and is going around shouting levers at home which is why this is taking so much time
They can always default on their money to Leeds to pay off FdJ. :D

Also says that they can't get him if De Jong stays
That is pretty impressive negotiating if true. Bilva would be fantastic for Barca in the role that FdJ has been playing for them.

So we've signed 3 players already and we've got another 3 weeks till the season starts. De Jong looking good too given Barca's spending this week.

Where are all the tantrum throwers?

My wit's end
A midfield of Martinez and Eriksen would be actually pretty good as-is, even if the De Jong bid were to fail.

Happy to have Eriksen. We should have signed him when he was at Ajax but better late than never I guess.

Biding their time for when we lose 2-1 at home to Brighton probably.

Laporta pinning it on the manager :lol:
IIRC they did the same with Koeman and Suarez.
We should call his bluff after Chelsea have spent another 100m or so last 2 weeks of window and pull out and sign Tielemans who will be £30m by then and Antony with 60M plus we send Amad and Pelistri on loan, tell Frankie we will be back in next year when the club goes bankrupt and we will pay the £17m plus a big fat signing on fee, the smug Barca President face then would be priceless. Swap Ronnie for Lewandowski as well since his family are all suppose to be a united fans.
