Transfer window - happy so far?

We are just about to leave for the tour and we have the following in the bag:
Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Darmian and Depay.

I am very very happy with the business done thus far. We've addressed the RB problem, signed two proven CMs and got an exciting new talent for wing/wide attacker.

LVG seems pretty astute in highlighting areas that needed improving and he's gone out and signed players that (theoretically) should do that.

In terms of what we still need, Centre Back, Centre Forward? Is Smalling/Jones/Rojo/McNair/Evans enough? What if Rooney gets injured?

I would like to see Ramos/Otamendi + a younger CF that wouldn't mind spending a fair bit of his 1st season on the bench. Then we'd be pretty well set.

I'd like us to see go all out for the last pieces of the puzzle. A real number 9 like Lewandowski and a world class CB like Ramos and we are putting out our best team since 2007.

Very happy.

Would be annoyed though if we sell Di Maria.

Delighted by the transfer window so far. I'd actually be alright with us going into the season with our squad as it is. I think Smalling developed a lot at the tail end of last season and still believe one of Rojo or Jones can make it as a decent partner for him. If Rooney gets injured we could be left light up top, but then what's the point of spending millions and millions on an expensive sub? Rooney's the captain, and Van Gaal's been pretty clear that his captain will almost always play. We could just hold onto Hernandez as a competent backup. The big question mark is about De Gea, but if Madrid won't pay the world record fee we've asked for he's staying so, all good.

Yeah it's good so far. We're still probably two players short but we created a feel good factor. City have signed Sterling but they've not really stolen our thunder. So people are rightly feeling optimistic. The club is doing the right things to get back to challenging for the title. So far, we're probably in a good a position as you could have hoped.

fecking delighted so far.

Most of our business done before the tour, still missing one or two players but we way ahead of our competitors so far

Very good so far, really wanted Schneiderlin and Depay so I'm delighted. Haven't seen much of Darmian unfortunately but according to reports he is meant to be a smart signing. Schweinsteiger is a quality player who's experience will only benefit the players around him. Another CB(Otamendi) and a striker and we are set to go, providing De Gea does not leave.

Lacazette and Otamendi in. De Gea staying.

That's my perfect scenario now.

We'd challenge for the title with the squad as is IMO. Just a bit light up top, with no back up for Rooney. Our defence will be a lot stronger with Schneiderlin shielding, as well as Schweinsteiger being in there. The only worry is how injury prone Smalling/Jones/Evans are, but if they get past the injuries then we won't need a center back anyway. Think we'll bring in Otamendi though. Brilliant window so far though, couldn't ask for anything more.

The squad is looking very good atm. All we need is a starting cb of high quality and a back-up striker in case Wayne gets injured. If we were to get Otamendi and Berahino I'd be very happy with our squad for this season. Still a few players to go also, like Valdes, Rafael, Evans and Hernandez.

Extremely happy. Very sensible signings at non-ridiculous prices plus we're getting rid of some deadwood. I'd be slightly disappointed if that's all we signed though, still need a couple more players to truly make it brilliant.

I'm happy obviously but we HAVE to buy a new striker and at least 1 new centreback. It will put a real stinker on this window if we don't imo.

Yeah it's been above average so far.

If we cannot bring in a striker I'd like to see Mata Otammendi swap deal. Then Reus brought in as a goal scoring left sided midfielder with Depay pushed up top with Rooney. Di Maria can play right.

Really happy so far but will be a complete jizz fest once a top CB arrives most likely Otamendi over Ramos imo and another striker is needed as Hernandez will surely be off.

I still think there is some truth to the Di Maria rumours so wont be too surprised if he leaves but I hope we fleece PSG should it happen.

Also really hope Evans is shown the door once a CB is signed. Think McNair is good enough to be fourth choice and we can send Blackett out on loan.

satisfied so far. still need a striker and a CB. would be great if we can keep de gea

So far, yes. Still have some holes to fill but we have got a central core now that should cause problems to any team in the world.

Prior to the window opening (actually prior to the Memphis deal since it happened before lol) I thought we needed:

Right back
Centre back
Centre midfield x2
Pacey winger

So far we've signed 4 of those 5 already and the acquisitions we've made have been top top notch. I wanted Memphis and Schneiderlin the most for their respective roles so lucky me! For right back initially wanted Clyne or Coleman but more than happy with Darmian and I'll trust LVG. Bastian fecking Schweinsteiger doesn't need an explanation.

That leaves us to sign a centre back to slot straight into the first team. I also now think we need a deputy striker with RvP leaving and of course we'll see how the GK situation progresses but fair play to Louis and Ed we've had a storming window so far and we're not even halfway through July!

you'd have to be at Rust Cohle levels of pessimism to not be at this stage.

Of course. We just need a CB and a striker. Don't see the need for a new GK. A backup at most.

Wouldn't mind us selling ADM and buying a new winger who isn't Gaitan.

Yes. But; We are not there yet. If we want to challenge for the title and do well in the Champions League, we must get a quality sriker and centre-back before the season starts.
If Dave leave - then a good keeper as well.

I think we have added more quality to team already then we did all of last summer and for half the price so yeah I'm very happy so far

I'll only be happy with our transfer dealings once they're all completed. I hate these windows. I want to get back to thinking about the squad that we have, rather than the squad that we might have.

Yes.

A striker and a CB is all we need now.

feels weird that no ones complaining. Think we need to Sign cillessen to sort of put some balance back to the forum

Extremely happy. I think it's 100% that we will sign a new defender by the end of the window and it'll most likely be Otamendi, then I think there's a decent (50%) chance that we will still get a forward. The lack of obvious targets for the striker role makes it less likely than it normally would be - I cannot think of many realistic targets who would fit the role. I think Valdes will be fine for GK role.

I'm very happy with the players we brought in. We also completed most deals before we went on tour and showed some balls when dealing with the De Gea situation.

The only thing I think we did wrong was get rid of RVP.

For the first time I can remember, the caf is unanimous in agreement that we are doing the right thing.

Very much so, I wanted 2 CM's and we've bought 2, one with experience and one at 25 who is very good and ready to take the next step up. I also think our RB buy was shrewd and obviously Memphis is the type of exciting attacker we always like to see at the club, and his potential to become a world class player is high.

I am confident we will get the top CB we need and I hope we just keep De Gea for another season. So all that would leave is adding another forward, the most difficult buy of the window.

I'm happy obviously but we HAVE to buy a new striker and at least 1 new centreback. It will put a real stinker on this window if we don't imo.
We will for sure, there's no way LVG would sell two strikers and not get one in. He can't rely on Rooney for everything, he will know about Rooneys lull in performances he has most seasons
