U23s vs Arsenal

Oodles of talent in our 23s. Should be good.

I hope my boy mejbri is available for this I'm more excited about u23 games than the first team right now

Can't see Hannibal playing, they said his ankle needed a scan. Not worth the risk.

Who else do we have that can play wide?

The front 4 will he Hugill, Diallo, Shoretire +1 on the left.

Maybe even go 4-3-3 with Shoretire from the left?

Maybe it's possible that Elanga is back?

Elanga can not be far away from a comeback, would be great to have him on the left

Don't think Amad will play this one.

Hopefully all the assaults on Hannibal make him an even tougher, better player - there's no way a competent ref will allow that at the top level so with more protection he could be unstoppable.

You can thank that the cnut David Richardson for that. Laughing as Blackburn assaulted the lad.

Great refereeing
Some of the tackles were awful. He let stuff go for far too long.. should have been dishing out cards much earlier and telling their captain "you're heading to reds here if you carry on"

I'm all for a physical game but bad/persistent fouls = cards or they carry on. It was the 'Fernandinho' style of reffing... 8 fouls = a card.

Think he injured his shoulder/collar bone? no idea how bad it is but they usually take a fair amount of time, doubt he'd be back this soon.

Is there any way to know if he's back training yet? the U23's don't get much coverage.

Don't think Amad will play this one.
Think he will, can't see him being involved against WBA personally. If he isn't though then he'll be on the bench perhaps.

With Pogba injured and a 9 man bench he almost certainly makes the bench.

Henderson
Bailly
Telles
Matic
DvB
James
Martial
Williams/Tuanzabe
Mata/Diallo

It was nearly a month ago, I have seen people come back from it in that time. But it all depends on how bad it was, which we don't really know because they don't give out info as you said. Wood said, "he will miss a couple of games". I think Helm will get an opportunity if not Elanga or Hannibal is fit.

Noam Emeran should be close to moving up. If he isn´t injured again?

I'm sure he could make the bench, but I think they'd prefer him to play a good quality match against Arsenal than warm the bench personally.

That'll be 3 decent level matches in the reserves (Liverpool, Blackburn who are top of the league, and Arsenal) then he should be ready for first team.

True, but U18 have an important game against City tomorrow and they are light on players too. Emeran will almost certainly play there. Emeran should play U23 football soon though.

With no available CB's in the last game, and now potential issues in attack this game, our U23's are certainly getting stretched for numbers.

As they've been on the bench recently, I guess Helm and / or Stanley might get a start? But that's obviously a huge drop off in quality from the likes of Hannibal, Amad and Elanga.

Hopefully at least one of those will be available but, even if they're not, Emeran and the other regular U18's should stay at that level for the City match tomorrow.

No reason for Diallo not to play tonight. What are we saving him for? The inevitable "for the experience" bench selection for the first team?

Nah. I'd much rather he get his guaranteed minutes. There'll never be a comfortable moment to bring him on because by and large we don't have comfortable first team games.

It'll be another tight affair versus a team that's shipping in goals and Ole won't risk the sub. Just play him tonight.

Probably touch and go, he left in a protective boot after Blackburn.
Looks like he won't make it tonight, Ole just said he'll join them in training with the first team, which probably means he hasn't trained since the injury.

Unless he was kept with the u23s just for this game but I can't see it with Shoretire being called up too.

You’re a happy bunny aren’t you?

Looks like hannibal and shoretire have been moved up to train with the first team squad. Don’t know how that will affect their chances of playing in the u23 as different bubbles and all.

Not at all considering Amad is in the first team bubble

They just have to travel on their own. I'm guessing they can travel with the other lads in the first team bubble.

Yeah. Totally forgot about armadiallo being in training with the first team. So good for the lads to get experience in first team training and getting regular minutes in the u23s too.

They will just have to travel by themselves to not break the bubble. Then they will hug and kiss celebrating goals and everything goes out the window
