I'm not saying I genuinely think we're getting 30 points. My point was that if we want to finish top 4 then I think we have to get close to 30 points from that run, regardless of whether we'll do it or not. Given the patterns and trends we've seen this season.

21 points for me.

We'll lose at least one of those aways. We won't win every single home match either, we'll drop points in one or maybe 2 of them.

Stoke (a) - 1
Hull (h) - 3
Leicester (a) - 1
Watford (h) - 3
Bournemouth (h) - 3
Southampton (a) - 0
Middlesbrough (a) - 3
WBA (h) - 1
Everton (h) - 3
Sunderland (a) - 3

Assuming we go through to the League Cup Final, the away fixture against Man City will be rescheduled, which is arguably a bit of a shame for us given how poor they currently are.

Anyway, it means that - on paper - we have what looks like quite a generous run of matches to try and break into the top four.

Stoke (a)
Hull (h)
Leicester (a)
Watford (h)
Bournemouth (h)
Southampton (a)
Middlesbrough (a)
WBA (h)
Everton (h)
Sunderland (a)

That run of league games takes us to early April, after which we face Chelsea at OT.

We all know the perils of looking too far ahead, but there's 30 very presentable points on offer there. How do you think we're going to get on?

I'm predicting 24.
If we are a serious team, we should be looking at no less than 8 wins with two sip ups at most. Ideally, we should get 30 points.

Draws can happen but we really shouldn't lose any of these games given the kind of performances we have been producing for a good two months now. An unbeaten run with a couple, maybe even three, draws still gets us 24+ points which is a pretty good return over a 10 game stretch.

Stoke (A) - 3
Hull (H) - 3
Leicester (A) - 1
Watford (H) - 3
Bournemouth (H) - 3
Southampton (A) - 3
Middlesbrough (A) - 3
WBA (H) - 3
Everton (H) - 3
Sunderland (A) - 3

28 points out of 30.

I think this is pretty realistic barring injuries. We shouldn't be losing any of these. Leicester away is the trickiest of the lot, but that's about as hard as it gets. Not to mention we should have Bailly back at some point during this run, and hopefully Shaw back up to full fitness. Would give us an excellent chance of breaking into the top four, as the rest of the top 6 play each other.

We'd have to be incredibly lucky to take maximum points. I'd be happy with 25.

We have to be pretty reasonable with our wishes now. I think we can go on a winning run again but we need more passion from the supporters as well. We cannot blame players because they have one-off game. Fellaini was booed because he was not a favourite from the Van Gaal era but even he has improved significantly under Jose because of the manager's support. I think at this point if we still think we can do well, the team will feel the same way. The big occasion got to them but the next 10 games will always see United above their opponents. We're gonna go on a run again and the no-loss is gonna be extended. I expect at least 27+ points from the games to come. Europa is going to help us in terms of Quality.

If we want to finish top 4, the minimum we'll have to do is to get 30 points out of those 10 games. I know a lot of the teams above us play each other in that period but our games after this run are horrendous. Most likely City away, Spurs away and Arsenal away after the Chelsea game. And this team has shown us that it can do basically feck all against the big teams so we're going to have to get maximum points from this run if we want to do anything meaningful.
Minimum 30 from 30?
Jeez, what's the maximum?

Stoke are absolutely woeful, we will win with ease.

A midfield two of Whelan and Adam.

A geriatric Crouch up front.

Carrick, Pogba and Herrera will control the game easily with the time on the ball they will be given.

Do people actually watch the smaller teams in the league play?
Yes. I have a season ticket and I saw us draw with Stoke and Burnley, so I don't really get your point.

21 points, which will put you on 61 with 7 games to go. I reckon you'll end up around 73 points.

I think we'd need to take full points from these to have a shot at the title, given our run in and how far off the pace we are.

I'd take 25 point from the next 10 games if it was offered now.

The city game being rescheduled is going to shck. If its at the end of the season, we'll have city, arsenal and spurs all away in 3 of our last 4 games. Thats brutal.

From that set of games, I would guess 24ish. Maybe a few more.

Some woefully over optimistic fans on here!

Let's try and get a win v Stoke first. None of this "we'll easily win all 10" nonsense please

Looks nice on paper, but you just know points will be dropped here and there. How many games from our 6-game winning streak was won easily..?

Ideally we'd need to get close to 30 but it's not very likely we'd get there. Anything close to 25 would be a good return in my opinion. Even that might not be enough for us, but it's certainly not unthinkable we'll actually score less than 25. Scoring goals remains an issue for us and in some of those games, that will continue to hurt us.

I'd guess 23 points sitting here now. Would hope to win the five home games, couple of wins away, couple of draws and an odd defeat. No reason why we cannot get more points, but I don't think we have demonstrated that we are quite good enough to really threaten the title. We've left too much ground to catch up.

All we can hope to do is make the tough end of season run have something meaningful riding on it – and I wouldn't keep consider finishing fourth to be that. It'll be incredible if we can do that though. Being second and reeling in a side 12 points clear in less than half a season is one thing. Being sixth and having to reel in another four sides is another.

It's also one thing to consider the league in isolation, but we've got a lot of cup football in all likelihood in that time before Chelsea too:

EFL Cup:
Hull (A)
Liverpool/Southampton (N)

FA Cup:
Wigan (H) (+ replay?)
[FA Cup 5th Round (+ replay?)]
[FA Cup 6th Round (+ replay?)]

Europa League:
St Etienne (H)
St Etienne (A)
[Europa League Last 16 First Leg]
[Europa League Last 16 Second Leg]
[Europa League QF First Leg]

Safe to say FA Cup replays need to be avoided where possible. Europa League makes your schedule packed as there is an extra knockout round.

Backlash will see you beat Stoke away. The European two legged fixtures with ASSE will affect none of your league games. Shame.

26-28. Even 30 isn't out of the realms of possibility.

30 points? People really expect us to get 30 points from those fixtures?

Also, if we do get 30 points from those fixtures, forget about the top 4, I'm almost certain will be in close to making it a title race.

Considering the fact that not scoring enough goals is usually our undoing, I find Boro, Albion and Toffees tougher than either Stoke or Leicester. These three fixtures are together (four if we add S'oton) so it's possible we might lose 4 to 6 points in this mini-run of games.

Otherwise, we should be expecting three points per game, nothing less. 24 points is both necessary and realistic.

Stoke at home are pretty much average nowadays, it's not the fortress everyone thinks it is. If we beat them this weekend, their home form would read W4D4L4. If we can perform a more like we did in the previous games prior to Liverpool, we will be picking up a lot of points.

Unfortunately, I think we will probably draw one and lose one. 25/30.

24 too.

I've taken Leicester, Southampton, Everton as potential slip ups.

In reality only in two of those will you drop points

We aren't getting 30 points

Stoke (a) D
Hull (h) W
Leicester (a) W
Watford (h) W
Bournemouth (h) W
Southampton (a) D
Middlesbrough (a) D
WBA (h) W
Everton (h) W
Sunderland (a) W

Definitely a chance we lose at least one of Stoke or Southampton, but if we were playing them tomorrow, I think we'd draw. 24 points is a good return!

We should be aiming for 40 points out of the remaining 51 available. That allows for 11 points dropped (3 losses and a draw) in 17 games. 80 points has historically been enough for a top 3 finish and this target doesn't seem completely unreasonable to me given where we currently stand. It'll be drawing the easy games that will cost us if anything.

25 points and maybe 3rd/4th in the table by a point or so, or just outside it with the game against City in hand.

Just shy of what's probably needed to come 4th given the state of the run in. I think Utd have to beat at least two of the top 6 while avoiding losses to City and Arsenal to stand a chance even if everything else proves plain sailing.

Getting 24-26 would be great. And set us up nicely. Our big games in April, if we are in the top 4, but not within reach of the title, we just have to not lose the games. Our closest rivals can't gain ground on us by drawing.

But April is a long way off. We just have to take one game at a time. Stoke away is a tough match. We could easily lose or draw that.

Arsenal face Soton away, Liverpool away, Leicester home, Chelsea away, and have City on April 1st.

one would think that it's possible to take over 4th around April with our schedule in mind.

We are a very good team.
Not good enough to turn our nose up to 22 points out of 30 in a run of 10 games. That sort of form, over a whole season, would mean we end up with around 83 points which is a very good return.

So yeah, 22 out of 30 definitely wouldn't be terrible.
