Is it that easy to make new states? Who pays for new flags and stuff?
Yep. I believe if both chambers pass it by simple majority and the President signs off it happens. It gets trickier if they try and do it by splitting/combining existing states.

And Mexico will pay for the new flags.

51 is an annoying number though. The symmetry of 50 is rather nice.

I'm sure becoming a state brings all kinds of new powers and stuff that the local government can claim from the Feds too.

I've been to South and liked it. What's in North that sets it apart?
Nothing, they both suck. The whole reason they exist is that two groups of white people hated each other and could not agree on what city to make the capitol. They actually waited years to become states (and get the benefits of being one) just so they could enter as separate states as opposed to one. The president had to blindly chose which admission paper to sign first because they both wanted to be "admitted" before the other. Stupid.

Should have just signed both papers at the same time with both hands.

Which one got signed first?

And the Carolinas, when Puerto Rico comes into the fold.
North Carolina would probably revolt. They’d just want a bit of NE South Carolina (the Charlotte suburb) & the Charleston area.

Lovely city to tour too.
Even I could consider living along the Battery, if the prices ever dropped enough.
Amazing city. We did our honeymoon there and stayed in a little hotel on King Street. Spent the whole week walking everywhere. Amazing.

Is that the Rulon bloke? Defeated the Ivan Drago of wrestling.
Noooooo. Rulon Gardner was good, but we’ve had loads of guys better than him.

I’m talking about John Smith. Head coach at Oklahoma State now. In his freestyle career he won 2 Olympic golds, 4 World golds, 2 Goodwill golds, and 2 PanAm golds.

 at this thread and it's tangents.
It's actually a nice change from shit show of the last few years.
I can start a 90's rap tangent again if we really want to go to town.

But yeah, its been a rough few years.
