Ole's persistence with Rashford will be the end of him. The sooner he realises Rashford isn't good enough, the better.

We need a world class goal scorer.

Wasn't Sanchez or Lukaku supposed to be that signing?

We need a bit of everything. We have a very bad squad and are deficient in all positions, except, until recently, in goal.

Signing a striker who wins games on his own might take us up to 3rd if we don't sort out the rest of the team.

Signings would help. Quality coaching that will create a system that helps those signings get the best out of themselves would help a lot more. And wouldn't cost tons of money.

I think he does realise this. The hope is in his potential, which I believe is obvious. We may be more likely to make an elite forward than acquire one on the market.

Bingo. When all is said and done, this has been the problem for a long time.

What other options does he have? Lukaku isn't any better. At least Rashford puts in the effort.

That's the last thing we need.

We've an entire defensive line that needs improving, as well as a midfield. A hotshot striker will do feck all.

Yeah ok. Ignore the fact that top teams have systems that guarantee results, and continue looking for this mythical striker that will solve our problems singlehandedly.

What is Kane or whoever going to do under a team that can't create chances?

Not a single midfielder nor a single winger nor a single wingback.

We need somebody who can pass the ball. We’ve one player who can do it to any quality in the whole team. Gary Neville talked about our forwards and the goals they have in them. None of them can pass it so every time it goes to them they either lose it or play it backwards.

We need to rebuild the team near enough from scratch, a process that will take several years. A single star signing will do feck all.

Sounds like a spoilt fan request to some people but it's absolutely true. None of our attackers are good enough for a top club. Even the promising ones (Rashford) are only good enough for the bench.

We need a dangerous striker that teams actually fear. Until we get that, we'll be also rans.

You're right, he doesn't have any other options and he does put the effort in. It's Ole's comments over the past few months about Rashford that worries me. It's obvious he rates him very highly.

Rashford and Lingard are B tier players at best. I doubt they would start every match at places like Sevilla, Dortmund or Lazio. Won't ever be worldclass players. Both had have shockingly bad games this season.

And the worst thing for you lot is: those two aren't even your biggest problem in this squad.

We can't buy a player now. So, who should Ole use instead of Rashford? Martial? Lukaku? Sanchez? It is not like we have a great striker that isn't used.

Yeah, and a Maldini style signing would be nice too.
Doesn't even make sense, Maldini only played for Milan. Unless you're talking about signing a 7 year defender that's the son of former player and then giving him a professional contract in 10 years time.

Wasnt Sanchez doing that for Arsenal as a striker, then we signed him and sticked him back out on the wing playing more like a wingback because all we seem to play over the past few seasons is defensive football

 a striker is not what we need. They arent great but it's fine for now. Our centerbacks are basically the back up centerbacks that Fergie had when he retired. Our right back is Fergie's back up winger when he retired. Our midfield is just awful. Our right wing is non existant and basically our only signings for that position in the past 10 years have been Valencia, Zaha, and then Mata at a push even though he shouldve been the #10.

Buying a striker as the priority would be in line with the idiotic spending we've done since Fergie retired though, so it could happen. Once we sort out midfield/CB/RB/RW, then yeah, get a striker.

It's threads like these that make me realise there are so many fans that just don't understand the massive fundamental flaws running through the club.

Do you want Ole to comment negatively about a player who he has to rely on for the rest of the season? That would be like Mourinho throwing the players under the bus and expecting them to perform the next game. These players aren't like the players of the past. They don't handle criticism well...most of them will get their panties in a twist for no reason.
