What is your order of priority for our transfer needs?

In a world were our finances were good i would want Mbuemo but as it stands:

Quality 9
CM who can progress play from deep
Gk
Possible Dorgu upgrade

New GK

Mazraoui De Ligt Yoro

Amad new cm Casa Dorgu

Bruno Cunha

New 9

Order of priority now
1. Make sure we complete Brian Mbeumo £50m
2. Sell Antony(30m), Hojlund(35m) Sancho(5+15m), Onana(20m) and Garnaucho(40m) for £135-145m
3. Make sure Rashford to Barcelona is £5m loan plus £30m obligation to buy and they pay his wages
4. Buy the right number 9 who may cost £60/65m ; Osimhen, Gykores or Mateta
5. Buy an experienced, elite Goalkeeper - £30-35m
6. But J Branthwaite or Preferably Murillo - £55-60m we need a mobile fast physical CB
7. Make sure we get paid the £20m from Alvaro sell on to Real

How we sell players is really the next most important thing and as usual we are off to a terrible start with Jadon ‘Freedom’ Sancho!
Those sales would be brilliant.
What i most likely see happening is:
Garnacho 35-40m (should be 40-45m)
Antony 25-30m
Malacia 8-10m
20m Carrerras sale clause
Rashford 10m loan fee
Sancho 5m loan fee with us paying some of his wages
Hojlund 5m loan with option to buy.

Minimum possible Total: 108m

A keeper is every bit as important as a forward for me. The manner and rate of Onanas errors mean they completely undermine everything else were trying to do in terms of building a style and a renewed confidence into the side.

We had a similar thread a few months back but my order hasn't changed

1st choice GK
2x goalscorers (could be CF, 10 or a wide player but has to carry a goal threat)
New 'chief' CB - we've got some good supporting cast here but I want a dominant figure who can tie them and the new GK together

Essentially a new spine but given how spineless we've been I think that's understandable

For me Mbeumo should be the next target followed by a CM to play alongside Bruno. Then based on sales, a striker, lwb, gk.

Just go for whichever quality player we can get. I'd rather Ait--Nouri/Garcia or top number 6 than a budget sht striker or prefer Gykores and make do with Case and Onana, for example. We're going to have to make do in a few key positions this year, either way. Better we spend on the right players than spend 40-60 and then need to replace them next year

We can’t do a loan deal on Sancho as he’s in last year of contract!

Alvaro Carreras is only a 20% sell on clause over £5m, we can buy him for €20m then sell him for €45m which is €25(£21m) profit from Madrid however if we don’t buy him back then we get 20% only of €50m / €10m(£8.4m)

Barcelona are not paying £10m loan fee and £250-300k per week wages for Rashford, Malacia £5m max, Bayinder £5m max and £15-20m for Onana max are our best hopes right now. If we are buying a midfielder I’d sell T Collyer for £15-20m and I think k we could get rid of MDL and get Murillo or Branthwaite far more suitable for Amorim system?

It’s all going very well except the lack of links to a new keeper.

If we start the season with Onana in goal and Bayandir as back up it’ll be a joke

We need actual top class players that'll take us forward not depth, so "budget shit striker" won't fly given last season

This will happen, if we get a CM and Striker it should be enough for this season.

We have other priorities

Perhaps a controversial opinion from me.
The signings of Cunha & Mbuemo would be absolutely fantastic, they tick every box and then some.
Most people are saying that a #9 should now be top priority, but for me, it's Central Midfield, all day, every day.

I keep repeating this again and again, but you cannot play with a front three AND have Bruno in Central Midfield, there are acres of space behind when we lose the ball, and opponents are pouring through us.
The Midfield situation must be addressed, it needs to be rethought, otherwise, I don't care what front three you have, they won't be getting enough decent service, and our Midfield will be swamped.

So my priorities:
CM
GK
CF

This would be mine too. I think Zirkzee, Obi, and the option of playing Cunha or Bruno as a false 9 makes me feel more worried about our lack of options for a #6 and a goalkeeper.

Not to say I don’t think we need a striker - we definitely do. But I want to go into game trusting our goalkeeper again and I want a deep lying playmaker first.

Striker
Keeper
Midfielder

Preferably all three though this window.

I’d be happy with that in addition to Cunha and Mbeumo.

1. Striker
2. Goalkeeper
3. Midfielder

I think we can muddle by with our current midfield provided we can score goals and not keep conceding easily preventable ones.

1 or 2 could have been flipped easily but going on goals for/against in the PL last season it's clear our lack of firepower is relegation-battling level (fifth least scored in the league) whereas our ability to keep goals out is more mid-table (9th most goals conceded)

Onana also seems to be way worse in Europe somehow, and we won't be competing there next season.

Maybe Cunha/Mbuemo override the need for a striker but I'm not totally convinced we can rely on number 10s to get on the end of chances in this formation - everything is set up to run through the striker.

We have other priorities
I think a new keeper sits above a midfielder in the order of priorities. There’s just too many points flushed down the shitter from Onana blunders for it not to be

After Mbuemo done :

  1. Striker
  2. Midfielder
  3. Center Back
  4. Goal Keeper
If we cannot buy new players for these positions i would like the club to promote the youth 1 for each position

While I don't disagree we are short of a midfielder who can control the game in the EPL.

We aren't going for a title challenge but top 5

Striker
Playmaking Midfielder

Goalkeeper
Wingback
Box to Box Midfielder

I'm still of the opinion we'll get the bolded positions sorted by the end of the window

I would prioritise a quality striker, midfielder and even a keeper over mbeumo, especially if hes 60m.

Potentially a wingback on loan aswell.

This would still improve the team massively in the current set up, and also protect the long term rebuild if amorim is sacked.

  1. Striker
  2. Goalkeeper
  3. Central midfielder 1
  4. Central midfielder 2
Assuming Mbeumo will be signed.

I think they will get one central midfielder only.
Agreed. I'm hoping we hear more concrete rumours around incoming keepers soon, ad without a change there we're building a house on quicksand.

On mature reflection…
1. Keeper (gives us improved defensive stability)
2. Number 9
3. No 6
4. LWB

In order of priority.
Centre back if possible, not as urgent maybe.

After Mbuemo done :

  1. Striker
  2. Midfielder
  3. Center Back
  4. Goal Keeper

I don’t think that’s a priority at all. We have 2 of the best young centre back plus 3 more to compete for 3 spots

Priorities:

Before 10 June

1. Complete Cunha
2. Complete Mbuemo

3. Probe landing spots for Garnacho and Rashford

Between June 16 - July 20

1. Sell Garnacho
2. Sell Rashford
3. Sell/Loan Sancho
4. Sell/Loan Antony
5. Sell Hojlund
6. Sell Malacia
7. Sell Onana

--------------------------------

1. Buy Gyokeres
2. Buy CM (likely Ederson)
3. Buy Keeper

All inbound transfers concluded before 20 July by the time the squad flies to the US.

Striker
Attack (Cunha) - Already done.
Attack (A young attacker with WC potential)
A central midfielder
A GK
A central CB with pace, agility and an eye for a pass.

1. GK
2. GK
3. GK
4. GK
5. GK

You can put 10 Messi in the team but with Onana in the goal, I am done with this team. I am so sick and tired of Onana causing us to lose important games by his clanger after clanger.

I don't think goalkeeper is as high priority as people are making out. If we had Courtois in goal for us this season instead of Onana, realistically how many points would that have been worth? A few maybe.

If we had Kane up front instead of Hojlund we're probably 10 points better off.

We could have won EL final and earn 100M.

Assuming Mbeumo gets done:

0. GK - Need to reduce silly errors that cost us matches and unsettle the backline
1. ST - Not as much of a priority with Cunha/Mbeumo and Zirkzee/Bruno as F9 options. But still lacking overall
2. CM - Ederson or similar
3. LB/LWB - Replacement for Shaw would be nice. Dorgu can be used as cover for either WB positions.

I think Mbeumo and Cunha will take some of the pressure off needing a striker. One of them can play there if needed with other options in their positions and we have Zirkzee to try there with them flanking him.

So for me it’s:

1. Goalkeeper
2. Striker
3. Playmaker CM
4. LWB that can cover RWB.
Agreed but, even if we do not get Mbeumo or another striker, still would want to get a keeper first and foremost. Players and manager can talk all they want but, trust in Onana must be absolute rock bottom.

We have the option to trigger Jadons extension.

As things stand today:

1. Finalize a deal for Mbeumo
2. Start selling; Garnacho for 40+ million; Rashford for 30+ million; Antony for 20+ million; Sancho for 15 million; Onana and Hojlund for whatever we can get
3. As soon as we start generating funds, get a deal for Gyokeres going ASAP
4. If we can move the rest of the players listed, get on signing a new keeper

For me it’s this -

Sign Mbuemo
Sell off all the deadwood
Midfielder x2. One that costs and a free backup or loan
Striker
Goalkeeper

I think our midfield, no.9 and goalkeeper are our obvious glaring weaknesses. The midfield more than anything IMO. Up top we could play Cunha, Bruno or Mbuemo at a pinch and we have Zirkzee. I don’t think with the midfield we have ANY players that we can say band on heart can do it in the league without some sort of caveat.

Goalkeeper I think Onana is terrible but if we can sort the rest of the team out then he might face less shots than he has previously. Maybe get a free transfer that’s solid for a season?

It’s hard to choose when we have so many needs. I think there are two major issues and they affect the team performance overall. Midfield and the wingbacks. Neither of them have done their job well this season hence why the system is failing. Picking between the two though….

I’ll go,

#1- 2 central midfielders
#2- A wingback or 2
#3- A striker
#4- CB or 2
#5 Goalkeeper

But really they are all a priority problem.

Our biggest issue has been our inability to score goals. Therefore how can anything other than a striker be a priority? Replacing Hoilund is an absolute must

Assuming we sign Mbeumo I think the priority is midfield, we are just miles off the standard of the better teams in the league there and it’s so crucial. Making do there for another season is just asking for trouble and we’ll get out run and out player there by half the teams in the league at least.

But then you look at our striker and keeper options and realise just how much work needs to be done, you can make a good argument for any of them being the most inportant.

1. CM (preferably two of them)
2. GK
3. ST

That's assuming Cunha and Mbeumo are as good as done. There are other areas of need in the team but they feel a lot more peripheral, and can maybe be filled with cheap punts for young players rather than big money signings.
