If we can get him on a loan deal like we did with James, i wouldn't mind if we (Bayern) go for him. We need atleast one experienced and classy winger for next season in my opinion. Bale together with the likes of Coman, Gnabry, Odoi, Davies could work for 1-3 years.

Could be tempting for Bale too. He basically can be the replacement for both Robben and Ribery as our new starplayer for a few years.

But if we have to pay the full wages in a long risky contract plus a big transfer fee to Real this is not going to happen.

Madrid can use him in a swap deal with Hazard while paying half of his wage. Even Woodward is not dumb enough to go for him at that age with his wage and injury problems.

He'll probably swing by Italy for a while.

Lots of clubs would take him for a small fee and reasonable wages, very few on the wages he's on right now, so up to him really. I think he'll stay.

    You should sign Odoi first

It's a shame he's always injured really. An absolute world beater when he's fit and a big game player. He's gonna have to take a massive pay cut either when he's sold or when his contract runs out.

Has priced himself out of any (even a City, PSG...) Club wage structure. His fitness will prob not improve, which is a shame because when fit he is awesome. Awesome.

Best bet, take a big drop in wages, come back to Prem, and smash it for a few years... I would love him at Utd on a loan or pay-per-game basis or something.

He has an interesting decision to make about his future.

Perhaps we can swap him for Sanchez and only offer both of them 2 year contracts. That way both us and Real save money in the long run

I think both players would do a lot better if they swapped clubs. They'd be closer to their natural habitats if they swapped

And? We don't sign players over 30? That's daft.

Slightly different circumstance, but Henrik Larsson turned our season around in many ways in a brief loan spell.. he made a great impression on the club and team... at 35. Ibrahimovic was our best attacking player by a country mile.

Football isn't as it was 20 years back.. players are superbly fit at that age. I wouldn't suggest big money move.. but a couple of years at OT wouldn't do him any harm. Great experience, great ability. If the finance is sensible, why would we not consider a Gareth Bale. I would not want him going to another top club in the Prem. No way. A fit Gareth Bale scores loads, and makes loads.

Real should dangle him in front of Spurs and throw another £100m on top for Kane.

Otherwise bench and treatment table for another couple of years before China/ME/US.

No he didnt, he was distinctly average. Scored only 3 goals, against watford, villa and lille.

I think he's just surprised that Bale is turning 30. I still think Bale is like 26 or something. Life goes fast.

A fit Gareth Bale is fast becoming a myth. And as the years go by, where he is mostly coming back from one injury or another, there won't be loads of this and that as well.
We would be ridiculously stupid to even spend a penny on someone like Bale. Not because he is 30 years old. But because he is always fighting injuries.

People still seem to believe he is that Spurs player who Madrid bought for big money. That was ages ago.

Well, SAF wasnt exactly going to say he was shit in public was he. I remember watching him, I was there at OT, he was OK, nothing more. Touch was all over the place, even the crowd groaned a few times when he constantly lost the ball. He may have been an influence off the pitch, but on it, not so much.

He went above and beyond that, stated in more than one occasion that he wished to extend the loan or even buy him outright, but Celtic wouldnt let us. All of our players spoke very favourably about him as well.

He's a good player, no doubt, but never really fulfilled his potential once he had that breakout season at Spurs.

Obviously, you can cite his injury problems, but when fit he never really smashed it at Madrid. He was supposed to be the Welsh Ronaldo, but only in the same way that Parlour was the Romford Pele.

They most certainly did try again. Mourinho is filmed on camera asking Bale to say he will come and he’ll go for him.

He still has 3 years left on his contract too. They are going to have to give him a massive pay off to leave, or accept about 25-30M for him and use that money to subsidize his wages for the next 2-3 years.

He's had a few monumental games at the biggest stage. Match winning goals in two separate CL finals and an important assist in another, plus that time he made the Barcelona defender look like a kindergartner with a bursting run in some Copa del Rey semi-final or final or something.

But yeah, considering what they paid for him he's never quite lived up to expectations.

Just some of the spectacular goals he's capable of, unfortunately injuries ruined what could have been, phenomenal player at his peak, better than Hazard was for me.

If I remember correctly in the La Decima final, Bale wasted a few great opportunities to win the game before he got lucky with the header after that Di Maria run.

Anyways, he had his moments at Real, some of the moments being in big UCL finals. But he fell way short on his overall expectation levels at Real.

He was on loan from Helsingborg and had also played for Barca since leaving Celtic. His loan wasn’t extended as he’d promised to return to Helsingborg before the Swedish season started.

Also on topic for this thread signing bale would be a bad idea for any club would be a great deal for real if they could sell him given his injury record

Easily. Bale should have spent the majority of the last decade competing with Neymar as the best of the rest. Really unfortunate that he's never been able to fully reach that level because of the injuries.

Perez fecked up big time by not selling him last year, we would have paid 100m for him no question and they could have put that money towards hazard.

Because he is injured for at least half the fecking season every season and his injury stats get worse with each passing year.

For a long time I thought he'd end up here. Simply because no other team would be thick enough to pay them the fee they'd want and give him those wages. Now we've got rid of Mourinho I think it's safe say he isn't coming here. Since the three most likely candidates to take over are Ole, Zidane and Poch none of which would want Bale.

I don't even he'd end up at PSG or Bayern and if I was to put money on it i'd say he'd end up at Chelsea in some sort of Hazard swap deal because Bale could be the centre forward they've been crying out for.

He wasn't with Celtic - he was on loan from Helsingborg during their off-season and returned when the new season kicked off.

He was average for United but of course SAF was gonna sing his praises for helping the squad while Saha was struggling with injuries (per usual).
