It can be mind numbing trying to sift out reliable sources of football transfer news especially during silly season.

Apart from the official websites of clubs, if you had to pick the most reliable source of football transfer news, which would it be?

Meanwhile, I thought you would find the following article, very useful. It's titled,

'19 reliable transfer news accounts you NEED to follow on Twitter'

https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/19-reliable-transfer-accounts-you-need-follow-twitter

The article lists the following twitter handles as good sources:

@Dimarzio – Football worldwide

@jpercytelegraph – The Midlands

I think it depends on league and club. For Serie A it's Di Marzio.

An official club announcement.

BBC and Di Marzio

Seeing them start their first game.

Football doesn't really have an Adam Schefter

German football has lots of reliable sources (Kicker for example), don't really know about an international source that's completely trustworthy though.

About Madrid I´d say COPE, Ser and 2 newspapers: El Confidencial and VozPopuli.
For la liga, the best are the local radios and newspapers

Most transfer rumors are not meant to be accurate. Transfer rumors are usually leaked by agents and clubs to posture.

Ramsey and Mikel :cool:

The with Ramsey deal we didn't announce signing was done. We said we agreed deal and player is yet to agree. IIRC it also said few more clubs agreed fee.

Depends on the location.

For English stuff and general stuff it is BBC, late to the show but always accurate
For German stuff it is Kicker
For French stuff it is that Bouhfasi guy
For Italian stuff (or anything Raiola related) it is Di Marzio
For Spanish I don't know
For Portugal only God knows

The club
The manager
The players

Anything else is confirmation bias and selective memory.

Di Marzio is by far the most reliable, nearly everything he says comes to fruition or later picked up by other outlets.

I don't trust Ducker and Odgen at all for any transfer news when it comes to us, Di Marzio is perhaps the only journalist who I believe along with Mohamed Bouhafsi.

BBC is of course the most reliable, but by the time they report it it's pretty much already confirmed by everyone else anyway. Di Marzio is the best source for transfers aside from them.

That one friend of player's brother is usually the most reliable source. And that itk guy we have here, that everyone quotes. I believe them more than clubs' official websites. I mean, how stupid you need to be to not believe those guys?
