Which team has the most unbearable fans?

The difference between Arsenal and Liverpool fans is that when they're doing badly, Liverpool fans retreat into their bubble and are less annoying. Arsenal fans are bitter, obsessed, smug, and have a holier-than-thou attitude regardless of how well they're doing.

Yeah exactly why they are the worst

Arsenal fans were a lot worse when Wenger was manager. Now it’s honestly Lego pep that’s the problem.

The worst fans are Barcelona fans.

Although they're a decent club, their rabid hordes have severe delusions of grandeur, believing that they're bigger than they actually are. The way they cling on to the 'Invincibles' thing is just nauseating and exhausting. I just pray that one day a club like Rotherham will get promoted then just survive relegation with 3 wins and 35 draws or something ridiculous like that.

They must have the most fans on YouTube on that social media grift, begging for likes, shares and handouts. All their players are the best in the world and generational talents. The way they turned on Wenger is unforgivable. Just hate them with a passion.

Liverpool fans are the most sickening.

Arsenal fans most reactive and way too arrogant for a club of their size.

City fans are just divs. I think I pity them for being simpletons rather than hate them.

If we're measuring 'unbearable' simply by how annoying and insufferable they can be on average ONCE you have met one, then Manchester City.

If you're considering how likely it is to run into a fan along with how annoying that fan can be on average - then definitely United. We achieve unbearable through sheer quantity.

This is based on people I know in real life.

Liverpool and Arsenal are joint top for me. It's hard to separate the two.
After that will be Barcelona fans.

Fans of most other clubs are pretty tolerable. All the Chelsea and Madrid fans I know are fine.

I actually think it’s Barca, on social media at least. There’s a lot of non-Spanish Barca fans who bought in with Messi & that era and have gone full “zealotry of the convert” regarding the whole Mas Un Club thing, and alternate between being utterly insufferable & in complete denial with an almost ethereal superiority complex

There’s also the significant crossover with ‘Messi fandom’, who have a bizarre obsession with there being some kind of vague conspiracy/bias against the most beloved and widely praised footballer of our era.

Though much like how many people would say our fans, this is likely because there are just so many of them online…

IRL… it’s Arsenal

Well, you don't have skulls on your uniforms but you do have satan!
Satan's cool though:

Arsenal, despicable bunch and having a cnut of a manager makes it worse.

Don't get how people prefer Arsenal winning ahead of City.

Before the caf I probably would have said United supporters, but as others have said it’s because of the sheer amount of you that you run into in the real world, so by virtue of numbers I have met plenty of dickheads in your colours, but I don’t think it’s at a notable frequency . And this place is a testament to your fan base, as there are very few (if any) footballing spaces online dedicated to a specific side with the balance and self awareness as this Manchester United forum has, and again with a rarely seen tolerance for other football supporters, especially rival club supporters.

Fans of players are far more unbearable than any fans of a club, those fans for whom the chosen one can do no wrong and any loss in form is always someone else's fault. Give me an Arsenal fan over a Ronaldo, Messi, Pogba etc. die-hard any day.

Liverpool by a distance for me.

The now boomer-generation of LFC is so boring and predictable.

the standard boomer LFC fan buys the LFC jumper and wears it for every public event possible that has nothing to do with football or puts on a “YAWN” sticker on their car, even summerhouse to show everyone that here lives a Liverpool fan and thats their identity.

They’re so “look at me” but extremely unclever and I hate everything about it

Arsenal for me. Not even recency bias.

They were entitled when they were shit and they're unbearable when they're not. The way they spoke about Wenger in particular says it all. Whether or not he should've been removed from his position sooner, he earned the right to not be ridiculed when he actually kept them relevant on a shoestring budget, particularly between the old guard leaving (Henry, Vieira and co) and money becoming available towards the end.

Liverpool fans probably deserved their last 6 years or so because bar a CL and a few cups, they had to sit back and watch United dominate English football for two decades. I spent my entire school 'career' discussing United v Liverpool and ultimately the only time it ever felt like they had one over was the night after Istanbul. Other than that, it was a relatively clean sweep.

Yeah me neither, think it's mainly ones based around Manchester who feel like that

Always bugged me half of Newcastle’s chants seem to be about the fans as opposed to the club.

Are you saying that Arsenal should lose out to a team that made you second bananas in your own city? Basically City have put united in misery for the last decade yet you would be ok with them winning yet another title in Manchester? Yes some of the Arsenal fans are giddy but who wouldn’t be after being in the wilderness for so long but at least they’re not supporting a team that basically has owned united in the past decade.Baffling.

Do you actually just mean...fans of players you dislike?

The most scummy fans in the country are Leeds, Millwall, West Ham and Stoke by some margin over the rest.

City the most bitter. Liverpool are obviously the most delusional. Big % of Real Madrid's fanbase are half-arsed fairweather fans, same as City.
Unfortunately I think you are right, although there is also the opposite.
Until I joined redcafe I hadn't met any foreign madridistas, and here at least they love the club beyond fashions.
The other I guess are people from neutral countries, or without leagues and who got on board with Cristiano.
I wonder if they would still be on the train if we hadn't won 5 out of 8 CL.
I think they have confused the demands of the club, the ease in the departure of players and coaches, with being pricks.
Two examples:
Amancio dies, or any player and in the comments they start cursing for signings.
Recently, after The Best awards, it emerged that Alaba had voted Messi first.
Insults everywhere, calling him a traitor and calling for his sale!
And on a player who landed on his feet at the Bernabeu and seemed quite well-liked.
In the end he had to explain himself, licking Benzema's arse and clarifying that his vote was a joint one, of the whole Austrian national team.

Yes I am OK with them equalling our record because it means nothing and then extra sweet if we are ones to take it not gooners

It's Liverpool for me. I know a lot of Arsenal fans, and I agree they are annoying. But in my experience you can also wind them up easily and have a bit of back and forth fun with it. Liverpool fans I find to be blinkered, bitter and zealous.

Never met a Liverpool fan who acknowledges our achievements. Arsenal fans yes.

That being said they are both the worst, so its picking the best of a bad lot.

As for City, the fans are so deluded its comical. Constant conspiracy nuts, i cant take them seriously.

It means nothing? If Everton were to all of a sudden be bought by a country and took over the city I would be looking for the nearest ledge. This whole mindset of its only oil money and doesn’t count really doesn’t fly as more and more teams are being sold this way as your own team might be.

I want my own team to get that ownership
