Who is Captain if Bruno actually goes?

Casemiro and Harry Maguire shouldn’t be at the club past this summer. Expensive and on the decline like mad. Don’t think they should be captain when looking at that alone.

De Ligt because it makes far more sense to have a player who would actually start most games.

Maguire, Mount or Casemiro I'm dead against as it means them starting games when they should be nowhere near the first 11.

Yoro. It won’t happen in reality but if it did…it might just send a statement to our more experienced players that they need to step up or get out.
Would love this, De Ligt makes sense though

Shaw can be club captain. He fronts up in interviews and will give him something to do when injured. Then it depends on who is on the team, out of Martinez, De Ligt, Casemiro

Not a single one of them deserves it on the basis of leadership and being someone expected to start every match. It'd probably end up like the year where Valencia was made captain as the best choice of a bad bunch, then we'd expect someone to step forward and earn it.

De Ligt, I love the man, we'd of stood a far better chance in the Europa League final had he played.

Maguire returns as captain, De Ligt as no 2

Im sure itd be Casemiro.no co plaints aside from he's only here for another year and then we ask again....

De Ligt in my opinion. Much better than some give him credit for. He’s an excellent player and a leader

Mount or De Ligt. Mount may just edge it. Still contracted for 3/4 years and very popular with the players. Puts a shift in too like Bruno (when fit)

Dalot - he's basically the only one likely to be available for the majority of the games.

Personally I'd give it to Casemiro for the season even if he's not playing much, like they used to do in Italy with the most senior players being your captains. Game to game it would probably more often than not end up being De Ligt or Dalot, but the pressure would be off them a bit and Casemiro has the experience and gravitas for the role.

There's no obvious pick, but I don't think I've seen anything from De Ligt to suggest he's a better choice than most of the squad. Not knocking him, but I wouldn't say he's shown that he's a standout leader, plus his injury record is poor.

Shows the standard and lack of quality in the squad that not one credible captain has been named on 3 pages of this thread.

I would pick De Ligt as our captain if Bruno leaves this summer. He seems like a captain material to me and he was one of the youngest Ajax' captains.

One of Casemiro, Maguire or De Ligt - but the problem is that none are really guaranteed to start if everyone's fit.

Edit: Or possibly Mount, but still the same issue.

I have faith in 'Arry. He has given us his all this year with clutch goals. Can we call him Mazza now? Hazza?

Gotta be Dalot or De Ligt. Maybe Martinez when he comes back. I doubt Mount only because he can't even prove that he's worth starting every game. Same with Ugarte, although if we get a different partner for him he could be a vice captain shout. Maguire shouldn't because as we get better he won't start as much because our defensive line will be higher and he's not really suited for that anymore.

Bruno might be the last captain. At least of anything resembling a United team. The version of Manchester United after Bruno Fernandes may be unrecognisable for years. In tough times Bruno has been a leader and an inspiration. He has kept the spark, kept us watching. No matter what nonsense surrounded him, he has been ever willing, ever available. The man lives and breathes the club, the players and staff.

Yes there are still good hearts in the club. Mainoo and Maguire, Maz and many good young lads. Cunha is a good buy. But something (beyond the big bucks offer) had already unsettled the captain.

When this stupid post season tour was mooted, he said no. He lost that battle. I don’t think he likes the influence of the bean-counters when it hurts the players. Then this corrupt regime is offering him unimaginable rewards to effectively retire to their invisible project. He won’t go there, I expect, to baking heat and soulless fixtures, but he could still leave United. Thanks Sir Jim, you …..
